Drainage Repairs & Stormwater Solutions
Need a drainage plumber in Ormeau Hills? JR Gas & Water can investigate blocked and damaged drains, locate underground pipework with CCTV camera inspections and pipe locating equipment, and quote repairs or stormwater improvements based on site conditions.
From recurring sewer blockages and broken underground pipes to poor yard drainage and stormwater problems, the aim is to find the cause and recommend an appropriate long-term solution — not just clear the immediate symptom.
Choose the right approach for the fault: clear the obstruction, inspect the drain, identify damage, or upgrade the drainage arrangement where required.
Repairs to cracked, collapsed, displaced or damaged sewer and stormwater pipework. Depending on access and the fault, work can include exposing the damaged section, replacing pipework, correcting connections and reinstating the affected area as quoted.
For recurring failures, we assess whether a localised repair or a larger section replacement makes more sense.
Stormwater improvements for areas where rainwater is not being collected or discharged effectively. Options may include new surface drains, grated pits, underground stormwater pipework, additional collection points and alterations to existing lines.
Discharge points, fall, capacity and property conditions are assessed before the proposed work is confirmed.
Internal camera inspections help identify blockages, root intrusion, broken joints, displaced pipes and other visible defects. Footage and findings can help determine where further investigation or repair is warranted.
Camera access and visibility depend on pipe condition and the obstruction present.
Drain and pipe locating can help trace accessible underground drainage runs and narrow down the location of a suspected defect, blockage or connection before excavation or other work.
Locating accuracy depends on the pipe material, site conditions and available access.
Investigation and clearing of blocked drains, including slow-flowing fixtures, overflowing inspection points, recurring sewer backups and stormwater lines obstructed by debris or roots.
A recurring blockage may indicate a damaged pipe or poor drainage design that needs more than clearing.
Drainage works around driveways, paths, outdoor areas and low points where surface water accumulates. We can assess the existing drainage route and propose suitable pits, channels or pipework subject to levels and approved discharge options.
Some flooding or overland-flow problems may require civil drainage design or specialist advice.
Review the symptoms, access points and likely sewer or stormwater line involved.
Use suitable investigation methods, including CCTV camera inspection and locating where appropriate.
Explain whether clearing, a targeted repair, replacement or a drainage upgrade is the suitable next step.
Confirm the proposed scope, access, excavation and reinstatement requirements before additional work proceeds.
JR Gas & Water provides plumbing and drainage services in Ormeau Hills and across the Gold Coast area. Every site is different: existing pipe routes, ground levels, access, discharge points and the extent of any damage affect the repair or upgrade required. We assess these factors rather than assuming the same solution suits every property.
For blockages and initial plumbing investigations, book a $99 Service Call. For planned underground drainage repairs, CCTV investigations or stormwater upgrades, request a written quote outlining the work required. Additional diagnostics, labour, materials and excavation are quoted or charged separately as applicable.
Local plumbing answers · real service pricing
Detailed answers for homeowners and businesses in Ormeau Hills. Prices below are taken from JR Gas & Water's published service options: booking payments, starting installed prices and work requiring a quote are identified separately.
The advertised plumber call-out starts at $99 incl. GST for the initial attendance and inspection. This is not an all-inclusive repair price. For a defined job, the relevant service page may offer a different payment structure or a fixed installed price. Materials, additional labour, specialist diagnosis or work outside the booked scope can cost extra.
The $99 option covers the initial plumber call-out and inspection under the selected booking terms. JR can inspect the fault, discuss likely causes and explain the options. Any additional diagnostic testing, repair labour, replacement parts or materials are charged separately where required. Review the actual service inclusions at checkout rather than assuming a repair is completed for $99.
No. The separate $99 onsite quote visit is for assessing the site and providing pricing. It excludes fault-finding, testing, repairs, drain cameras, reports and labour. The $99 quote-visit fee is credited to approved quoted work over $1,000. For simple jobs, JR also offers a free online quote when supplied photos and details are sufficient.
Yes. Submit clear photos, the suburb, the fault or intended work, and any relevant measurements for a free online quote where it can be priced remotely. Larger drainage repairs, concealed pipework, renovations and stormwater changes may need inspection or plans before a reliable quote can be given.
The live booking system shows available timeframes for your selected service and location. Priority attendance depends on current capacity and the service booked, so a displayed countdown or general availability banner does not guarantee every plumbing repair can be completed that day. Select the service to check its actual scheduling options.
Turn off the property water supply at the main stop tap if it is safe to do so, keep electricity away from wet areas and arrange a plumber. The $99 initial service call is not a fixed burst-pipe repair price: the total depends on whether the leak is exposed or concealed, pipe material, access, excavation and the amount of replacement pipe required.
JR’s blocked-drain page requires a $199 booking payment, which is credited in full against the approved job total. It is not a claim that every blocked drain can be cleared for $199. You can compare hand-tool clearing, jet rodding, CCTV camera survey and combined options, plus the selected booking timeframe, before confirming an estimated total. Additional approved balance is payable after the work.
Not automatically. The blocked-drain booking starts with the $199 credited payment, while the selected equipment and onsite work determine the estimated and final approved price. High-pressure jetting can be appropriate for grease, silt, roots and stubborn blockages; some restrictions are better handled with a hand tool or pipe repair.
CCTV is available as a selectable service under the blocked-drain booking process, including a camera survey only option. The page takes a $199 credited booking payment; the actual CCTV survey total depends on the selected service, booking timeframe, access and additional work. Pipe locating or a detailed report may require a separate scope.
A suitable CCTV camera can show internal pipe defects such as displaced joins, roots, cracks, collapsed sections and recurring restrictions. When compatible locating equipment can be used, a technician may trace the route or position of the fault before excavation. Confirm whether locating, footage or a written report is included in the quote.
Repeated blockages can result from accumulated waste, grease, tree roots, inadequate pipe grade or structural damage. Clearing a restriction may restore drainage without fixing its cause. JR can assess multiple affected fixtures and recommend CCTV investigation if a recurring fault suggests damaged sewer or stormwater pipework.
Yes. Depending on the inspection findings, work can involve excavating, cutting out a broken or root-damaged section, replacing pipework, correcting connections and testing the repaired line. A written quote is normally required because depth, length, access, surface reinstatement and pipe material change the price.
There is no responsible single price for underground sewer or stormwater repairs. A short accessible repair differs significantly from deep excavation beneath a driveway or structures. The quote should identify the inspection scope, excavation, pipe replacement, backfill, testing and what surface reinstatement is or is not included.
Yes. Depending on legal discharge points, levels and site conditions, drainage upgrades may involve additional pits, surface grated drains, driveway channels, yard collection points, new stormwater runs, pipe upsizing or rerouting. Pricing is quoted by site and scope, not a fixed $99 or $199 drainage service.
Possible solutions include grated channel drains, collection pits, changes to underground stormwater pipework and improved conveyance to an approved discharge point. The right approach requires checking where water comes from, levels, existing connections and whether the problem is local runoff or an upstream drainage issue. A quote follows the site assessment.
Not automatically. JR’s pre-purchase plumbing inspection starts at $299 incl. GST for the flexible 20-business-day option and includes a written plumbing report on accessible and testable items. Underground CCTV and concealed pipe checks are separate specialist investigations unless the booked scope specifically includes them.
The dedicated toilet repair page takes a $199 booking payment credited in full towards the approved repair total. Prices vary for inlet valves, outlet seals, flush-pipe seals, pan connectors and a full service. The online selector lets you choose repair type, quantity and timeframe to see an estimated total before booking.
Installation of a customer-supplied link-suite toilet starts at $299 incl. GST for the flexible 20-business-day timeframe. The same service page lists close-coupled from $349 and back-to-wall from $399 before any site-specific extras. JR also lists supplied-and-fitted toilet packages, including a link toilet from $599. Compatibility and existing waste set-out matter.
For JR’s customer-supplied toilet replacement option, removal from position is included, but disposal is not included unless arranged separately. Standard connection materials are included under the selected scope, while pipe relocation or an incompatible set-out requires separate approval and pricing.
The dedicated tapware repair booking requires a $199 payment credited towards the approved repair total. The selector prices a tap washer replacement, washer plus full service, or mixer cartridge replacement, with quantity and booking timeframe affecting the estimate. Specialty cartridges, damaged tap bodies or inaccessible fittings may require additional work.
JR lists customer-supplied tapware replacement from $249. Supplied-and-fitted examples shown in the tapware range include basin mixers and sink mixers from $299, depending on the product. Existing plumbing, access, compatibility and installation timeframe can change the selected total.
Yes. These are separate plumbing installation services. Costs depend on existing isolation valves, accessible water and waste connections, appliance location and whether new pipework is needed. Choose the particular service page for its current selected options; a $99 general attendance does not automatically include an appliance installation.
Low flow may stem from partially closed isolation valves, blocked aerators or filters, failing pressure controls, undersized pipework or issues with the incoming supply. JR can investigate the affected fixtures and recommend the appropriate repair or pressure solution. Starting attendance is $99, while testing and repairs may cost extra.
Yes. Pressure-limiting valves can address excessive mains pressure; water hammer arrestors may help reduce shock when certain taps or solenoid valves close. Suitability depends on measured pressures and the plumbing arrangement. Select the relevant service to view available installation pricing and extras.
A standard gasfitter attendance option is advertised from $99 incl. GST for the initial visit. This does not include every possible gas leak repair, gas line alteration, compliance certificate or appliance connection. The selected gasfitting service and site conditions determine additional charges.
JR’s gas BBQ installation page displays a $399 selected starting service price for a suitable customer-supplied BBQ installation option. Other options cover installing a new gas supply and, where selected, associated basic electrical work. BBQ supply, assembly, major upgrades and non-standard modifications are excluded unless arranged separately.
JR’s gas cooking range advertises gas stove installation from $399, gas oven installation from $399 and freestanding cooker installation from $499. These are starting prices for eligible standard installation options; new gas lines, conversions and electrical changes can affect the total.
Avoid flames, electrical switching and ignition sources; move away from the affected area and contact the gas network or emergency services as appropriate. Shut off the gas supply only if safe. Do not wait for an ordinary online appointment where there is an active suspected leak. A licensed gasfitter can investigate once the area is made safe.
JR advertises hot water system options from $1,149 incl. GST. The actual price depends on the electric, gas, heat pump or solar unit selected; capacity; the installation package; valves; any conversion; and electrical or plumbing alterations. Compare the complete configured supply-and-install price, not only the system headline price.
Yes. Whether repair makes sense depends on age, fault, parts, warranty, system type and any unsafe or leaking components. Booking or diagnosis does not promise repair is feasible. JR can help with electric, gas, heat pump and solar hot water issues and explain repair versus replacement.
JR advertises water filtration products and installation options from $499 incl. GST. Pricing depends on whether you need under-sink drinking water filtration, whole-house mains filtration, reverse osmosis, UV treatment or other systems, plus any pipework changes and filter options.
JR lists a $299 flexible 20-business-day inspection, $399 within 5 business days and $499 within 1 business day. The published inspection includes accessible plumbing checks such as water pressure, water meter and leak signs, moisture testing, visible fixtures, hot water observations and a written report. Concealed plumbing and underground CCTV are excluded unless separately arranged.
Yes. Work can include water and waste relocations, drainage, mixers, fixture rough-in and final fit-off, and gas appliance connections where required. Pricing depends on plans, selections, existing plumbing and access; a larger renovation is normally handled through a written project quote rather than a single fixed service call.
JR can assess connections for additional kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, hot water systems, water supply and drainage, including sewer or stormwater work where needed. New dwellings and extensions require project-specific pricing based on site conditions, approved plans and scope.
Yes. Common jobs include leaking fixtures, toilets, drainage faults, pipe repairs, compliance-related plumbing and scheduled maintenance. Individual fixed-price services may be booked online, while multiple tenancies, planned works and ongoing commercial requirements are generally quoted.
The published prices quoted here are Australian dollars including GST for the stated standard service option. A from price is the lowest advertised eligible configuration; a booking payment is credited toward the job rather than representing the total. The live product page and checkout selection control the final price and applicable terms.
