01
Burst Pipes & Major Water Leaks
Water spraying from a pipe, flooding under a sink or a sudden drop in pressure can indicate a ruptured or failed water line. Leaks inside walls or ceilings may cause damage before you can see the source.
What to do now: If safe, turn off the main water supply and keep clear of wet electrical equipment. Avoid opening damaged walls or ceilings yourself.
What JR assesses: Isolation, pipe location and material, the failed connection and whether a section can be repaired or needs replacing.

Blocked Drains & Sewage Backups
Sewage coming up through a floor waste, multiple blocked fixtures or overflowing outdoor gullies can indicate a serious sewer restriction rather than a simple sink blockage.
What to do now: Stop using toilets, showers, washing machines and other fixtures that feed the affected drain. Keep people and pets away from wastewater.
What JR assesses: Affected fixtures, sewer access points and whether drain clearing, jetting or CCTV inspection is appropriate.

03
Overflowing & Blocked Toilets
A toilet overflowing onto the floor, failing to flush or continually refilling can involve a blockage, faulty cistern valve or failed connection. Persistent overflow needs attention before more water escapes.
What to do now: Do not flush again. If accessible and safe, close the toilet isolation tap. Stop using other fixtures if sewage is backing up.
What JR assesses: Toilet isolation and inlet, flush and outlet components, pan connection and possible upstream drainage faults.

Leaking Hot Water Systems & Sudden Hot Water Failure
A hot water tank leaking onto the ground, failed valves or an unexpected loss of hot water may require an inspection to determine whether the fault can be repaired or the system needs replacing.
What to do now: Keep clear of hot water and steam. Do not touch wet electrical equipment, exposed wiring or gas components. Contact a licensed professional for guidance.
What JR assesses: Visible leaks, relief and isolation valves, connections, accessible components and the practical repair or replacement options.

Hidden Leaks, Damp Walls & Wet Ceilings
A suddenly high water bill, an unexplained wet patch or water running behind a wall can indicate a concealed supply leak. The visible damage may be some distance from the leaking pipe.
What to do now: Isolate the water supply if safe, move valuables away from damp areas and avoid electrical switches or fixtures exposed to water.
What JR assesses: Meter activity, affected fixtures, accessible pipe routes and whether specialised leak-location work is required.

Failed Flexi Hoses & Water Connections
A split braided hose, leaking mixer connection or failed fitting beneath a basin can release a large volume of water. Even a small leak may deteriorate quickly when a hose or valve has failed.
What to do now: Close the fixture isolation valve if accessible and safe. If the leak continues, turn off the main water supply.
What JR assesses: Hose and fitting condition, isolation valves, connection sizes and whether the affected parts can be replaced safely.
