Natural Gas or LPG

Gas pizza ovens are available in both Natural Gas and LPG configurations.

JR Gas & Water can install:

New Gas Pizza Oven Installation

Installing a gas pizza oven where one has not previously been connected may require a new gas service to the installation location.

Depending on the property, this can include:

• Extending existing gas pipework

• Installing a new appliance isolation valve

• Connecting the pizza oven

• Testing the gas installation

• Checking operating pressure

• Commissioning the appliance

• Gas compliance documentation where applicable

The amount of additional gas pipework required depends on the location of the existing gas service and the proposed pizza oven position.

Replacement Gas Pizza Oven

Already have a gas pizza oven?

We can disconnect the existing appliance and connect a suitable replacement where the existing gas installation is compliant and suitable for the new appliance.

Standard replacement generally assumes:

• Same gas type

• Similar appliance location

• Suitable existing gas connection

• Existing gas pipework has sufficient capacity

• No major pipework modifications are required

Different appliances can have different gas consumption and connection requirements, so the existing gas service must still be suitable for the new oven.

Outdoor Kitchen Pizza Ovens

JR Gas & Water can complete the gas fitting required for the pizza oven as part of a larger outdoor kitchen installation.

This can include connections for:

The gas installation must be sized appropriately for the combined demand of the connected appliances.

Existing Gas Point

If a suitable gas point already exists near the pizza oven, installation may be relatively straightforward.

Before connection, the gas fitter will need to confirm that the existing installation is appropriate for the appliance.

This can include checking:

An existing gas point does not automatically mean it is suitable for every pizza oven.

Additional pipework and installation work is outside a standard appliance connection unless specifically included.

LPG Pizza Oven Installation

LPG pizza ovens can be connected to an appropriate LPG installation where the appliance and gas supply are compatible.

Depending on the installation, this may involve:

• Existing household LPG supply

• Permanent LPG cylinder installation

• Existing regulated LPG gas point

• Outdoor kitchen LPG supply

The regulator, pipework and cylinder arrangement must be appropriate for the connected appliance load.

Natural Gas Pizza Oven Installation

Natural Gas pizza ovens can be connected to a suitable existing Natural Gas installation.

The available gas pressure and pipe capacity need to be sufficient to operate the pizza oven along with other gas appliances on the property.

Where the existing gas line is undersized, additional gas pipework may be required.

Appliance Location & Clearances

Gas pizza ovens must be installed in a location suitable for the particular appliance.

Installation requirements may include:

• Manufacturer-specified clearances

• Clearance from combustible materials

• Suitable ventilation

• Appropriate overhead clearance

• Stable mounting surface

• Suitable outdoor location

• Access to the gas isolation valve

• Protection of gas pipework from damage

The manufacturer's installation requirements must be followed.

Built-In Gas Pizza Ovens

Some gas pizza ovens are designed to be incorporated into outdoor kitchens or benchtops.

For built-in installations, cabinetry and surrounding construction must be suitable for the appliance.

Before booking, ensure the appliance installation area has been prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's dimensions and clearance requirements.

JR Gas & Water does not modify cabinetry or construct outdoor kitchen benches as part of a standard gas appliance installation.

Freestanding Gas Pizza Ovens

Freestanding gas pizza ovens can often be installed where a suitable gas connection is available nearby.

Pipework and hoses must be positioned so they are protected from:

• Heat

• Sharp edges

• Physical damage

• Excessive movement

• Traffic areas

The final connection method will depend on the appliance manufacturer's requirements and the gas installation.

Gas Testing & Commissioning

After installation, the gas fitter will test the disturbed gas installation and commission the appliance.

This may include:

• Gas leak testing

• Operating pressure testing

• Burner operation

• Ignition testing

• Flame operation

• Appliance isolation

• General installation checks

The pizza oven will only be connected where the installation can be completed safely and compliantly.
