LIFE TIME WARRANTIES
JR Gas & Water Lifetime Workmanship & Extended Labour Warranty
A stronger warranty for customers who keep their system properly protected, serviced and maintained by JR Gas & Water.
Our standard workmanship warranty is 1 year. Customers who complete the required check-ups, servicing, water quality protection and product-specific maintenance may qualify for lifetime workmanship support and extended labour coverage for eligible repairs.
Long-Term Protection That Rewards Smart Maintenance
Most systems need more than a once-off installation to perform well for years. Water quality, pressure, valves, electrical protection, filters, pumps and servicing all play a part in the life of your system.
The JR Gas & Water Lifetime Workmanship & Extended Labour Warranty is designed to give customers better long-term protection when the system is maintained correctly and protected from preventable issues.
Keep up with the required JR servicing and protection schedule, and you may reduce the risk of unexpected labour costs for eligible warranty repairs over the life of your system.
Why It Matters
A single repair visit can be costly. Over the life of a hot water system, pump, filtration system or plumbing installation, eligible labour support can make a real difference.
This warranty gives customers a clear path to maintain stronger long-term coverage instead of losing protection after the first year.
Warranty Options at a Glance
1-Year Workmanship Warranty
Applies when the lifetime warranty requirements are not completed or maintained.
Manufacturer product warranties may still apply separately, subject to the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.
Lifetime Workmanship & Extended Labour Warranty
Available for eligible systems when JR’s required check-ups, servicing, water quality testing, surge protection and maintenance schedule are followed.
Coverage can include eligible JR Gas & Water labour support for approved warranty repairs, depending on the product and manufacturer warranty terms.
What’s Covered?
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
Covers defects in JR Gas & Water’s installation workmanship for eligible systems, provided the required warranty conditions are met and maintained.
If the lifetime warranty conditions are not met, the workmanship warranty reverts to the standard 1-year workmanship warranty.
Extended Product Labour Warranty
Covers eligible JR Gas & Water labour costs for approved repairs or replacements after the manufacturer’s labour coverage has expired, while the manufacturer’s product warranty still applies.
After the manufacturer product warranty ends, service call fees, parts and replacement component costs may apply.
Example: if a hot water system has a 12-year manufacturer product warranty but only 1 year of manufacturer labour coverage, JR Gas & Water may cover eligible labour from years 2 to 12, provided all warranty requirements have been followed.

This warranty may apply to eligible JR Gas & Water installations including:
- Hot water systems
- Plumbing systems
- Gas installations
- Water filtration systems
- Water pumps
- Valves and related plumbing components
- Electrical and electronic components
- Installed Today purchases installed by JR Gas & Water
Warranty coverage varies by product, manufacturer warranty, installation type, site conditions, water quality, protection measures and service history.
Key Warranty Maintenance Costs
The lifetime warranty is built around simple scheduled maintenance. These services help protect the system, confirm site conditions and keep the warranty pathway active.
6-Month Check-Up
Required after installation for eligible lifetime warranty coverage.
5-Year Hot Water Service
Average 5-year hot water service cost, depending on type, make, model, condition and site requirements.
Water Filter Servicing
Water filtration systems must be serviced yearly. Water filter service kits are available online for eligible systems.
Lifetime Warranty Requirements
To maintain the Lifetime Workmanship & Extended Product Labour Warranty, the relevant requirements below must be followed.
6-Month Post-Installation Check-Up
A 6-month post-installation check-up must be completed by JR Gas & Water.
The 6-month service is $99.
This check helps confirm the system is operating correctly and has not been affected by preventable site, water quality, pressure, electrical or third-party work issues.
Hot Water Systems
Hot water systems must complete the 6-month check-up, then follow the required 5-year hot water service schedule.
A standard 5-year hot water service typically costs between $300 and $650, depending on the system type, make, model, condition and site requirements.
Some systems may require additional servicing depending on water quality, usage, manufacturer requirements or installation conditions.
Water Pumps
Water pumps require a 6-month post-installation check-up.
After that, the pump must be serviced every 5 years, unless JR Gas & Water recommends a shorter service interval based on water quality, usage, pressure, pump type, site conditions or manufacturer requirements.
Water Filtration Systems
Water filtration systems must be serviced yearly to maintain warranty compliance.
Replacement water filter service kits are available online for eligible systems.
If JR Gas & Water recommends a shorter filter replacement schedule based on water quality results, that adjusted schedule must be followed.
Water Quality, Valves & Filtration Requirements
To include valves and related plumbing components under the extended warranty, a water quality test must be completed by JR Gas & Water.
The JR Gas & Water water quality test must be re-completed by JR Gas & Water every 5 years to maintain lifetime warranty coverage.
If the water quality test shows that filtration, treatment, valve protection or shorter service intervals are required, those recommendations must be followed.
This may include adjusted servicing timelines, additional filtration, more frequent cartridge replacement or other protection measures based on the water quality results.
Failure to complete the required JR Gas & Water water quality testing every 5 years, or failure to follow the adjusted filtration or service schedule, may void coverage for valves and related components.
Electrical & Electronic Component Protection
To include electrical or electronic components under the extended warranty, a suitable surge protector must be installed by JR Gas & Water or JR’s nominated electrical contractor.
The surge protector requirement must be re-completed by JR Gas & Water or JR’s nominated electrical contractor every 5 years to maintain lifetime warranty coverage for electrical and electronic components.
The surge protector must also be replaced sooner if it fails, is damaged, is no longer suitable, or JR Gas & Water determines that replacement is required.
Electrical or electronic component coverage may not apply if the required JR-approved surge protection is not installed, maintained and re-completed every 5 years.
Simple Coverage Example
This example shows how the JR Gas & Water extended labour warranty may work when the lifetime warranty requirements have been maintained.
| System Age | Manufacturer Coverage | JR Gas & Water Extended Labour Warranty | What You May Pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | Manufacturer product and labour warranty may apply. | JR’s standard workmanship warranty also applies. | Usually covered if warranty conditions are met. |
| Years 2 to Manufacturer Product Warranty End | Manufacturer may cover eligible parts or product components. | JR Gas & Water may cover eligible labour if lifetime warranty requirements have been maintained. | Parts or product costs may apply depending on manufacturer coverage. |
| After Manufacturer Warranty Ends to Year 25 | Manufacturer warranty has ended. | JR Gas & Water may provide eligible labour support after a service call fee, provided the warranty has been maintained. | Service call fee, parts and replacement components may apply. |
| After Year 25 | No manufacturer warranty. | No extended JR labour coverage. | Standard service, labour and parts charges apply. |
This is an example only. Coverage depends on the specific product, manufacturer warranty, installation type, water quality, protection measures and service history.
