1. Existing Fridge Water Point — Connection Only

For properties where a suitable fridge water point has already been installed and the new fridge simply needs to be connected.

Includes:

• Connection of customer-supplied plumbed fridge

• Connection to existing accessible fridge water point

• Check existing isolation valve

• Standard connection fittings where required

• Water supply turned on and tested

• Leak testing

• Basic fridge water/ice supply check

• Replacing an existing plumbed fridge

• New fridge where the water point is already installed

• Existing compliant connection directly behind or beside the fridge

2. New Water Line — From Sink on Same Cupboard Run

For kitchens where the fridge is located along the same continuous cupboard run as the kitchen sink and a new water line can be routed through the cabinetry without crossing an island, doorway or open floor area.

Includes:

• Connection to suitable existing cold water supply beneath sink

• Dedicated fridge isolation valve

• New fridge water line through accessible cupboards

• Standard drilling through timber/laminate cabinetry where required

• Connection to customer-supplied fridge

• Water pressure and flow check

• Leak testing

3. New Water Line — Extended Cabinet / Wall Route

For kitchens where the fridge is further away from the sink but the new water line can still be installed through accessible cabinetry, walls or another practical internal route without entering the ceiling space.

• Connection to suitable existing cold water supply

• Dedicated fridge isolation valve

• New water line routed through accessible cabinetry or suitable wall areas

• Standard timber/laminate penetrations where required

• Connection to customer-supplied fridge

• Water pressure and flow check

4. New Water Line — Through Ceiling Space

For properties where there is no practical cabinetry route and the fridge water supply needs to be taken up into the ceiling space and dropped back down near the fridge location.

• New water line routed through accessible ceiling space

• Pipework secured through accessible areas

• Wall or cupboard entry near fridge where practical

• Connection to customer-supplied fridge

Service Conditions

• Refrigerator must be customer supplied and onsite at the time of installation

• Fridge must be designed for connection to a mains water supply

• Appliance connection requirements must be compatible with the available water supply

• Kitchen cupboards and plumbing routes must be reasonably accessible

• Customer must ensure the refrigerator fits the allocated fridge cavity

• Existing plumbing must be suitable and compliant for connection

• Ceiling-space installations require safe and practical roof-space access

• JR Gas & Water does not drill stone or engineered stone surfaces

• Furniture, stored items and cupboard contents must be removed where access is required

• If the actual installation differs significantly from the selected option, we will explain the additional work before proceeding

• Work will only proceed where it can be completed safely and compliantly

I already have a water point behind the fridge. Which option do I choose?

Choose Existing Fridge Water Point — Connection Only. This is designed for straightforward connection of a new fridge to an existing suitable water point.

Can you run the water from underneath my kitchen sink?

Yes. If the sink and refrigerator are on the same accessible cupboard run, choose New Water Line — From Sink on Same Cupboard Run.

What if the fridge is on the other side of the kitchen?

If there is no suitable cabinet route, the water line may be able to run through the ceiling space. Choose New Water Line — Through Ceiling Space if the property has suitable access.

Can you run a water line to a fridge in an island?

Potentially, but island installations can require access beneath the floor, through cabinetry or during construction. Select Complex Fridge Water Line Installation so the route can be assessed.

Is an isolation valve included?

A dedicated fridge isolation valve is included with new water-line installation options where required. Existing-point connections use the existing isolation where it is suitable.

Do you check the water pressure?

Yes. We check the available water supply and pressure as part of the installation and test the completed connection for leaks.

Can you install a fridge filter?

Yes, but external or additional filtration systems should be selected separately or quoted where required.

Can you drill through my kitchen cabinets?

Standard penetrations through suitable timber or laminate cabinetry can be completed where required for the selected installation. We do not drill stone, engineered stone or similar surfaces.

What happens if I choose the wrong installation option?

If the site differs from the option selected, we will identify what is required and explain any additional work or pricing before proceeding.
