PURETEC HYBRIDPLUS P-SERIES SERVICING

Puretec P Series JR Service Kit Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and fits the Puretec P Series JR Service Kit for existing compatible HybridPlus P-Series water filtration systems across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast properties.

The complete current JR kit includes the three genuine 20-inch filtration cartridges used by the HybridPlus P Series — PL05MP2, CB05MP2 and PX01MP2 — together with the RL6 46W UV lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve.

This is a maintenance package for an existing compatible system rather than a new filtration installation. It restores the scheduled sediment, carbon and ultraviolet service components while retaining the existing filter housings, UV chamber, pump, controller and other serviceable system hardware.

Puretec P Series service kit at a glance: Puretec specifies PL05MP2 as Stage 1, CB05MP2 as Stage 2 and PX01MP2 as Stage 3 for all current HybridPlus P-Series models. Compatible systems also use the RL6 46W UV lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve. Puretec specifies cartridge replacement every 6–12 months depending on water quality and usage and annual UV-lamp replacement.

What Is Included in the Puretec P Series JR Service Kit?

1

PL05MP2 Pleated Sediment Cartridge

A 5-micron, 4.5-inch × 20-inch washable pleated sediment cartridge manufactured from reusable polyester media. Puretec uses the PL05MP2 as the first filtration stage in the HybridPlus P Series.

2

CB05MP2 Carbon Block Cartridge

A 5-micron, 4.5-inch × 20-inch bonded activated-carbon cartridge. Puretec lists chlorine, unwanted taste, odour and sediment among its reduction functions.

3

PX01MP2 Polyspun Sediment Cartridge

A 1-micron, 4.5-inch × 20-inch graded-density polypropylene cartridge used as the fine sediment stage before ultraviolet treatment.

4

RL6 46W UV Lamp

The genuine Puretec 46-watt high-output ultraviolet lamp specified for compatible Hybrid G, R and P Series systems.

5

RQS6 Quartz Sleeve

The genuine quartz sleeve specified for compatible Hybrid G, R and P Series UV chambers. It separates the lamp from the water while allowing ultraviolet energy to pass through the treatment chamber.

Puretec factory equivalent: Puretec's HR-G13R11P maintenance kit uses these same five primary components for all Hybrid P Series systems, Hybrid G13 and Hybrid R11. Puretec's factory kit also lists food-grade lubricant and two O-rings. The live JR package above remains the source of truth for the exact inclusions supplied with your JR service.

Which Puretec Systems Use This Service Kit?

Puretec specifies the same PL05MP2, CB05MP2, PX01MP2, RL6 and RQS6 combination throughout the HybridPlus P-Series range.

Hybrid P1

The P1 uses the same three replacement cartridges, RL6 UV lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve. The P1 does not include the integrated pump arrangement used on some other P-Series variants.

Hybrid P3 & P6

Both pump-equipped P-Series systems use PL05MP2, CB05MP2, PX01MP2, RL6 and RQS6 as their specified filtration and UV service components.

Hybrid P9 & P12

The mains-to-rains P9 and P12 configurations use the same scheduled cartridge, UV-lamp and quartz-sleeve combination.

Match the exact model before servicing. Other Puretec Hybrid models can use different cartridge combinations. Cartridge size alone is not enough to confirm compatibility.

How the Puretec P Series Filtration Stages Work

Stage 1 – 5 Micron Pleated Sediment

The PL05MP2 provides high-surface-area sediment filtration to capture incoming dirt, silt, rust and other particles before they reach the downstream stages.

Stage 2 – 5 Micron Carbon Block

The CB05MP2 provides bonded activated-carbon treatment for chlorine, unwanted taste, odour and sediment reduction.

Stage 3 – 1 Micron Fine Sediment

The PX01MP2 provides finer graded-density sediment filtration immediately before the UV-treatment stage.

UV treatment is a separate stage. The cartridges condition the incoming water and reduce their manufacturer-listed contaminants. The RL6 lamp then provides ultraviolet microbiological treatment in the existing HybridPlus UV chamber.

PL05MP2 5-Micron Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The Puretec PL05MP2 is manufactured from durable non-woven reusable polyester fabric. The media is pleated around a polypropylene core to maximise surface area and dirt-holding capacity.

Washable Media

Puretec lists the PL05MP2 as washable and reusable where the cartridge remains in suitable condition.

5 Micron Nominal

The cartridge has a nominal 5-micron rating and uses the MaxiPlus™ 4.5-inch × 20-inch format.

High Surface Area

The pleated design increases filtration area and dirt-holding capacity compared with a simple flat filtration surface.

Puretec currently publishes an individual cartridge flow rating of up to 180 L/min.

Washable does not mean indefinite life. Puretec's HybridPlus maintenance schedule still specifies periodic cartridge replacement. Cleaning the first-stage pleated cartridge also does not service the carbon, fine sediment or UV stages.

CB05MP2 5-Micron Carbon Block Cartridge

The CB05MP2 is constructed from bonded activated carbon and is designed to provide treatment without releasing loose carbon fines.

Chlorine Reduction

Puretec specifically lists chlorine reduction among the CB05MP2's primary treatment functions.

Taste & Odour

The activated-carbon stage helps reduce unwanted taste and odour before the water continues through the final sediment and UV stages.

SilverPlus Technology

Puretec's current CB05MP2 information lists SilverPlus antibacterial technology among the cartridge's features.

The CB05MP2 is a 5-micron MaxiPlus™ 4.5-inch × 20-inch cartridge with a current published individual flow rating of 48 L/min.

Puretec's “removes” terminology means significant reduction, not necessarily 100% removal.

PX01MP2 1-Micron Polyspun Sediment Cartridge

The PX01MP2 is manufactured from virgin polypropylene using a spun-and-melted process. Puretec uses graded-density construction to provide depth filtration without a centre core restricting the usable filtration area.

1 Micron Nominal

The PX01MP2 provides the finest standard sediment stage within the P-Series cartridge arrangement.

Graded Depth Filtration

The cartridge captures particulate through the depth of the media rather than relying only on the outer surface.

Sediment Treatment

Puretec lists dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and other suspended particles among the PX Series treatment targets.

Puretec currently publishes an individual PX01MP2 cartridge flow rating of 152 L/min.

RL6 UV Lamp & RQS6 Quartz Sleeve

RL6 46W High-Output UV Lamp

The RL6 is Puretec's 46-watt ultraviolet lamp for compatible Hybrid G, R and P Series systems. Puretec's HybridPlus maintenance guide requires annual lamp replacement to maintain the system's specified UV performance.

RQS6 Quartz Sleeve

The RQS6 is the matching quartz sleeve for compatible Hybrid G, R and P systems. A clean, intact sleeve is important because scale or contamination on the quartz can reduce transmission of UV energy into the water.

A UV lamp can still glow after its useful service interval. Visible illumination does not prove that the original ultraviolet output is still being delivered, which is why Puretec specifies annual lamp replacement.

What's Included With the JR P Series Service?

Genuine Puretec Components

The current JR product identifies PL05MP2, PX01MP2, CB05MP2, RL6 and RQS6 as the five primary service components.

Fitted Service

For a compatible serviceable system, JR can replace the scheduled filtration and UV components and return the existing system to normal operation.

Additional Repairs if Required

Failed O-rings, filter housings, valves, pumps, UV controllers, pressure controls or other system faults may require additional scope where they are no longer serviceable.

The live package above is the source of truth. Use JR's current selector for your fitted price, appointment options and package-specific inclusions.

How Much Does Puretec P Series Servicing Cost?

Current fitted servicing pricing is shown in JR's live product selector above. The live selector should remain the pricing source rather than hard-coding a figure into this description.

A standard service assumes that the existing HybridPlus system is accessible, correctly identified and fundamentally serviceable.

Additional costs can apply where pumps, valves, electrical controls, UV ballasts, filter housings, O-rings, pressure equipment or plumbing require repair beyond normal cartridge and UV maintenance.

BRISBANE HYBRIDPLUS SERVICING

Puretec P Series Service Brisbane

JR Gas & Water services compatible Puretec HybridPlus P-Series systems across eligible Brisbane properties for customers maintaining existing rainwater filtration and ultraviolet treatment equipment.

A complete P-Series service can address the sediment, carbon, fine-filtration and UV service components together rather than replacing only the cartridge that looks visibly dirty.

JR can also identify obvious accessible issues that may require attention outside routine maintenance, including leaking housings, deteriorated seals or UV faults. Eligible service coverage also extends through Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands.

GOLD COAST HYBRIDPLUS SERVICING

Puretec P Series Service Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also services compatible Puretec HybridPlus P-Series systems across eligible Gold Coast properties where the existing equipment remains suitable for maintenance.

Rainwater filtration systems can experience very different sediment loads depending on roof condition, tank cleanliness, first-flush equipment, rainfall and water consumption. Cartridge condition therefore needs to be considered alongside the normal service calendar.

The annual UV lamp interval remains important even where the lamp appears to be operating, because effective ultraviolet output declines as the lamp ages.

How Often Does the Puretec P Series Need Servicing?

Puretec specifies replacement of the three HybridPlus filtration cartridges every 6–12 months, depending on incoming water quality and usage.

Puretec separately requires the RL6 UV lamp to be replaced annually to maintain the intended ultraviolet treatment performance.

PL05MP2, CB05MP2 & PX01MP2

Replace within Puretec's 6–12 month guidance, with heavier sediment or higher treatment loading potentially shortening practical life.

RL6 UV Lamp

Replace annually rather than waiting for visible lamp failure.

RQS6 Quartz Sleeve

The sleeve should remain clean and intact. Scaling or contamination can reduce transmission of ultraviolet energy into the water.

Can the PL05MP2 Be Washed Instead of Replaced?

Yes, Puretec manufactures the PL05MP2 as a washable reusable polyester cartridge. Surface sediment can be cleaned from the media where the cartridge remains structurally sound.

However, washing the PL05MP2 does not restore the treatment capacity of the CB05MP2, replace the PX01MP2 or renew an ageing UV lamp.

Puretec's HybridPlus maintenance guidance still specifies periodic replacement of the filter cartridges, so washability should be treated as a maintenance feature rather than unlimited cartridge life.

Why Does the RL6 UV Lamp Need Annual Replacement?

UV lamps progressively lose effective ultraviolet output during operation. A lamp may still visibly illuminate after its useful treatment interval.

Puretec therefore specifies annual RL6 replacement for HybridPlus P-Series systems rather than waiting until the lamp stops glowing.

Visible light does not verify UV treatment performance. Service the lamp according to its operating age rather than judging it only by whether it still lights up.

🚫 Unnecessary Contaminants in Rainwater

Contaminant Why It’s Unnecessary or Harmful? Ideal Level
Fluoride (F⁻) Not naturally present in rainwater. Studies (Harvard, U.S. EPA) link prolonged fluoride exposure to lower IQ, thyroid dysfunction, and skeletal issues. 0 mg/L
Copper (Cu) Exceeds safe limit. Likely from corroding pipes or roofing. High levels can cause metallic taste and health risks. < 0.5 mg/L
pH (Acidic Water) Slightly too low. Acidic water can cause pipe corrosion and leach metals like copper into the water. 6.5 - 7.5
Alkalinity Low alkalinity can make water unstable and prone to pH fluctuations. 20 - 50 mg/L

Home and Plumbing Impacts

🔹 Total Hardness (8 mg/L in rainwater): Extremely soft water, which can be corrosive to pipes, leading to potential metal leaching from plumbing.

🔹 Iron & Manganese (Rainwater: Iron 0.03 mg/L, Manganese 0.009 mg/L): Low but can cause sediment buildup over time if not filtered.

🔹 Copper (2.24 mg/L in rainwater): High levels may indicate corrosion in metal roofing or pipes, leading to health and plumbing concerns.
