Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

BRIGHT CHROME 3-WAY KITCHEN MIXER

Puretec ELITE-10CH Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec Tripla ELITE-10CH across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting normal hot and cold water plus a dedicated filtered-water supply from one bright chrome mixer.

The ELITE-10CH is a 3-way kitchen mixer built from 100% stainless steel with a bright polished chrome PVD outer coating. The larger handle controls normal hot and cold water, while the smaller lever independently operates the dedicated filtered mains-water or appropriately treated-water line.

It can suit renovations, existing mixer replacements and new under-sink filtration installations where filtered drinking water is wanted without adding a second visible tap beside the main kitchen mixer.

Puretec ELITE-10CH at a glance: model ELITE-10CH-LF, bright chrome 3-way mixer, 100% stainless steel construction, PVD outer coating, dedicated filtered-water line, 5L/min WELS 5 Star flow, 35mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone mixer pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and Puretec's current 15-year residential tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The ELITE-10CH Is the Mixer — The Filter Treats the Water

The ELITE-10CH provides the kitchen fixture and dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the mixer itself does not perform the water filtration.

The system installed beneath the sink determines the actual treatment performance, micron rating, contaminant-reduction claims, cartridge capacity and maintenance requirements.

ELITE-10CH Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer operation plus a separately controlled filtered-water line.

Under-Sink Filter

Performs the actual filtration before water reaches the mixer's dedicated drinking-water connection.

One Kitchen Fixture

Allows filtered drinking water to be integrated into the main mixer rather than adding a separate visible filter tap.

Filtration claims should always match the actual filter installed beneath the sink. The ELITE-10CH itself should not be assigned a micron rating or contaminant-reduction claim.

3-WAY FUNCTION

How Does the Puretec ELITE-10CH Work?

Main Mixer Handle

The larger handle controls normal hot and cold water for washing, rinsing, cooking and general kitchen use.

Filtered-Water Lever

The smaller lever independently operates the separate filtered mains-water or appropriately treated-water line.

Filter Below the Sink

A compatible point-of-use filtration system treats the dedicated water supply before it reaches the mixer.

Normal kitchen use does not need to consume the drinking-water filter cartridge. Standard hot and cold mixer operation remains separate from the dedicated filtered-water control.

TRIPLA ELITE CONSTRUCTION

100% Stainless Steel With Bright Chrome PVD Finish

100% Stainless Steel

Puretec specifies full stainless steel construction for the ELITE-10CH.

PVD Outer Coating

Puretec uses Physical Vapour Deposition coating within the Elite range for improved resistance to abrasion, scratching and corrosion.

Bright Chrome Finish

The polished chrome finish can coordinate with stainless steel sinks, chrome fixtures, appliances and a broad range of kitchen styles.

Finish care still matters. Avoid abrasive cleaning pads, harsh chemicals and cleaning products that are not suitable for decorative tapware.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

Hot, Cold & Filtered Water From One Kitchen Tap

Normal hot water remains available through the main mixer control.
Normal cold water remains available for ordinary kitchen use.
Dedicated filtered water is operated independently using the smaller lever.
One principal fixture can avoid the need for a second drinking-water tap.
5L/min WELS 5 Star flow under Puretec's current ELITE-10CH specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the ELITE-10CH Right for Your Kitchen?

The ELITE-10CH can suit homes wanting filtered drinking water at the main kitchen sink without adding another visible filter tap.

Kitchen Renovations

The bright chrome finish can integrate with a wide range of stainless steel and chrome kitchen fittings.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The existing mixer position should be checked against the 35mm mounting-hole requirement and the available plumbing beneath the sink.

New Filtration Setup

The mixer can be paired with a compatible under-sink drinking-water system, including Puretec's matched Z1 filtration package.

Under-sink space matters. Filter hardware, valves, tubing and enough working space for future cartridge replacement all need to fit within the available cabinetry.

TAP-HOLE REQUIREMENT

Puretec ELITE-10CH Tap Opening

Puretec currently specifies a 35mm diameter tap hole for the ELITE-10CH-LF.

The existing sink or benchtop opening should be checked before installation, particularly where this mixer is replacing a tap with different mounting dimensions.

Installation note: confirm the supplied mixer and current installation dimensions before altering or enlarging a sink or benchtop opening.

STONE BENCHTOPS

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid a Separate Filter-Tap Hole

JR's current installation guidance states that it does not drill engineered or natural stone for installation of a separate filter tap because drilling can release fine crystalline silica dust and may also damage or crack the benchtop.

Where the existing principal mixer opening is suitable, the ELITE-10CH can provide normal hot, normal cold and dedicated filtered water from one kitchen fixture instead.

The existing mixer opening still needs to suit the ELITE-10CH. Puretec currently specifies a 35mm diameter opening for this model.

FLOW & WATER EFFICIENCY

ELITE-10CH WELS Rating

Puretec currently specifies the ELITE-10CH at 5 litres per minute with a WELS 5 Star rating.

Current manufacturer specification: ELITE-10CH-LF — 5L/min, WELS 5 Star.

This specification is specific to the Elite 10. The Elite 20 range uses different flow and WELS figures, so those ratings should not be carried across to this mixer.

PURETEC Z1 COMPATIBILITY

ELITE-10CH With Puretec Z1 Filtration

Puretec currently offers the Z1-E10-CH-LF, combining the bright chrome Elite 10 mixer with its Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

0.1 Micron Filtration

Puretec currently specifies a nominal 0.1 micron rating for the Ultra Z filtration technology used in the matched system.

30,000L Capacity

The current Z1-E10-CH specification lists filter capacity of up to 30,000 litres under Puretec's stated operating conditions.

5L/min Mixer Flow

The matched system uses the Elite 10's 5L/min mixer flow and WELS 5 Star rating.

The 0.1 micron rating and 30,000L capacity belong to the Z1 filtration system, not to the ELITE-10CH mixer itself.

WHAT THE Z1 FILTER DOES

Filtration Performance Comes From the System Beneath the Sink

Puretec describes its current Z1 system as reducing chlorine, chemicals and sediment while retaining essential minerals.

Mixer Function

The ELITE-10CH controls and dispenses the normal mixer water and dedicated filtered-water stream.

Filter Function

The Z1 cartridge performs the filtration before drinking water reaches the dedicated mixer line.

Filter Maintenance

Cartridge replacement belongs to the filtration system's maintenance schedule and remains separate from the tapware warranty.

These Z1 treatment claims only apply when the relevant Z1 filtration system is actually installed. Another filter should be described according to its own manufacturer specification.

FILTERED MAINS OR TREATED RAINWATER

What Can the Dedicated Water Line Supply?

Puretec describes the smaller ELITE-10CH handle as operating the separate line for filtered rainwater or mains water.

Filtered Mains Water

A compatible point-of-use filter can treat mains water before supplying the dedicated drinking-water line.

Appropriately Treated Rainwater

The separate water line may also be supplied by an appropriately designed rainwater filtration and treatment system.

Mixer Is Not Treatment Equipment

The ELITE-10CH itself does not filter, disinfect or determine whether untreated water is suitable for drinking.

Water-source suitability depends on the complete treatment system. The mixer should not be treated as filtration or disinfection equipment.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec ELITE-10CH Pressure Requirements

Puretec currently specifies a standalone operating range of 50–500kPa for the ELITE-10CH.

Minimum 50kPa

The current standalone mixer specification begins at 50kPa.

Maximum 500kPa

The mixer should remain within Puretec's stated 500kPa maximum working-pressure limit.

Equal Pressure Required

Puretec specifically states that the ELITE-10CH is not suitable for unequal-pressure installations.

High supply pressure requires appropriate pressure control. Puretec states that pressure limiting valves must be installed where pressure exceeds the recommended working pressure or warranty coverage may be affected.

TAP VS COMPLETE FILTER PACKAGE

ELITE-10CH & Z1-E10-CH Pressure Specifications

The standalone mixer and Puretec's complete Z1 filter-and-tap package have different published pressure ranges.

Standalone ELITE-10CH

Puretec currently specifies 50–500kPa for the mixer itself.

Complete Z1-E10-CH

Puretec currently specifies 200–520kPa for the complete Z1 filter-and-tap package.

Installed Combination

The final installation should satisfy the applicable operating limits of every component, including the mixer's stated 500kPa maximum.

Component specifications are not interchangeable. The filter system can introduce its own minimum pressure and flow requirements even though the standalone mixer can operate at lower inlet pressure.
