Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

BRUSHED GOLD 3-WAY KITCHEN MIXER

Puretec ELITE-10BG Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec Tripla ELITE-10BG across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting normal hot and cold water plus a dedicated filtered-water supply from one brushed gold mixer.

The ELITE-10BG is a 3-way kitchen mixer built from 100% stainless steel with a brushed gold satin PVD outer coating. The larger handle controls normal hot and cold water, while the smaller lever independently operates the dedicated filtered mains-water or appropriately treated-water line.

It can suit kitchen renovations, replacement of an existing mixer and new under-sink filtration installations where filtered drinking water is wanted without adding a separate visible filter tap beside the main kitchen mixer.

Puretec ELITE-10BG at a glance: model ELITE-10BG-LF, brushed gold satin 3-way mixer, 100% stainless steel construction, PVD outer coating, separate filtered-water control, 5L/min WELS 5 Star flow, 35mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone mixer pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and Puretec's 15-year residential tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The ELITE-10BG Is the Mixer — The Filter Treats the Water

The ELITE-10BG provides the kitchen fixture and dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the tap itself does not filter the water.

The filtration system installed beneath the sink determines the treatment performance, micron rating, contaminant-reduction claims, filter capacity and cartridge-maintenance requirements.

ELITE-10BG Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer operation plus a separately controlled filtered-water line.

Under-Sink Filter

Performs the actual water treatment before the drinking water reaches the dedicated mixer connection.

One Kitchen Fixture

Combines everyday hot and cold water with dedicated filtered drinking water without adding a second visible tap.

Filtration claims should always match the actual filter installed beneath the sink. The ELITE-10BG itself should not be assigned a micron rating or contaminant-removal claim.

3-WAY FUNCTION

How Does the Puretec ELITE-10BG Work?

Main Mixer Handle

The larger handle controls normal hot and cold water for washing, rinsing, cooking and other everyday kitchen use.

Filtered-Water Lever

The smaller lever independently controls the separate filtered mains-water or appropriately treated-water line.

Filter Beneath the Sink

A compatible point-of-use filtration system treats the dedicated drinking-water supply before it reaches the mixer.

Normal kitchen use does not need to consume the drinking-water cartridge. Standard hot and cold mixer operation remains separate from the dedicated filtered-water function.

MATCHED PURETEC FILTRATION

Filtered & Unfiltered Water Stay Separate With the Z1 Package

Puretec's matched Z1-E10-BG package combines the ELITE-10BG with its Ultra Z under-sink filtration system and delivers hot, cold and filtered mains water through the one mixer without mixing the filtered and unfiltered streams.

Normal Mixer Water

Hot and cold water remain available for normal washing, rinsing and kitchen use.

Dedicated Filtered Water

Filtered drinking water is controlled separately through the mixer.

Efficient Filter Use

The drinking-water cartridge is reserved for the dedicated filtered-water supply rather than every use of the kitchen tap.

The no-mixing claim above relates to Puretec's matched Z1-E10-BG configuration. Any alternative filtration installation should be assessed according to its own plumbing configuration and manufacturer requirements.

TRIPLA ELITE CONSTRUCTION

100% Stainless Steel With Brushed Gold PVD Finish

The Tripla Elite 10 range combines Puretec's 3-way mixer functionality with full stainless steel construction and decorative PVD finishes.

100% Stainless Steel

Puretec specifies 100% stainless steel construction for the ELITE-10BG.

PVD Outer Coating

Puretec uses Physical Vapour Deposition coating within the Tripla Elite range for a durable decorative surface.

Brushed Gold Satin

The warmer satin finish can coordinate with gold-toned cabinet hardware, sinks, lighting and other metallic kitchen details.

Finish durability still depends on appropriate care. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and cleaning products that are not suitable for decorative tapware.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

Hot, Cold & Filtered Water From One Kitchen Tap

Normal hot water remains available through the main mixer control.
Normal cold water remains available for everyday kitchen use.
Dedicated filtered water is controlled independently through the smaller lever.
One principal fixture can avoid installing a separate drinking-water tap.
5L/min WELS 5 Star flow under Puretec's current ELITE-10BG specification.
35mm ceramic cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the ELITE-10BG Right for Your Kitchen?

The ELITE-10BG can suit kitchens where integrated filtered drinking water, full stainless steel construction and a brushed gold finish are preferred.

Kitchen Renovations

The brushed gold satin finish can coordinate with warm metallic handles, sinks, lighting and other statement kitchen details.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The current mixer position should be checked against the 35mm mounting-hole requirement and the plumbing available beneath the sink.

New Filtration Setup

The mixer can be paired with a compatible under-sink drinking-water filter, including Puretec's matched Z1 system.

Under-sink space matters. Filter hardware, valves, tubing and enough working room for future cartridge replacement all need to fit within the available cabinetry.

TAP-HOLE REQUIREMENT

Puretec ELITE-10BG Tap Opening

Puretec currently specifies a 35mm diameter tap hole for the ELITE-10BG-LF.

The existing sink or benchtop opening should be checked before installation, particularly where the new mixer is replacing a tap with different mounting dimensions.

Installation note: confirm the supplied mixer and current manufacturer installation dimensions before altering or enlarging any sink or benchtop opening.

STONE BENCHTOPS

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid a Separate Filter-Tap Hole

JR's current installation guidance states that it does not drill engineered or natural stone for installation of a separate filter tap because drilling can release fine crystalline silica dust and may also damage or crack the benchtop.

Where the existing principal mixer opening is suitable, a 3-way mixer such as the ELITE-10BG can provide normal hot, normal cold and dedicated filtered water through one fixture position.

The existing mixer opening still needs to suit the new tap. Puretec currently specifies a 35mm diameter opening for the ELITE-10BG.

FLOW & WATER EFFICIENCY

ELITE-10BG WELS Rating

Puretec currently specifies the ELITE-10BG at 5 litres per minute with a WELS 5 Star rating.

Current manufacturer specification: ELITE-10BG-LF — 5L/min, WELS 5 Star.

This is specific to the Elite 10 Brushed Gold. Flow and WELS specifications from the Elite 20 or another Tripla mixer should not be carried across.

PURETEC Z1 COMPATIBILITY

ELITE-10BG With Puretec Z1 Filtration

Puretec currently offers the Z1-E10-BG-LF, combining the brushed gold Elite 10 with its Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

0.1 Micron Filtration

Puretec specifies a nominal 0.1 micron rating for the Ultra Z filtration technology used in the matched Z1 system.

30,000L Capacity

Puretec currently lists filter capacity up to 30,000 litres under its stated operating conditions.

5L/min Mixer Flow

The matched package uses the Elite 10's 5L/min mixer flow and WELS 5 Star rating.

The 0.1 micron rating and 30,000L capacity belong to the Z1 filtration system, not to the ELITE-10BG mixer itself.

WHAT THE Z1 FILTER DOES

Filtration Performance Comes From the System Beneath the Sink

Puretec describes its current Z1 system as reducing chlorine, chemicals and sediment while retaining essential minerals.

Mixer Function

The ELITE-10BG controls and dispenses normal mixer water and the dedicated filtered-water stream.

Filter Function

The Z1 cartridge performs the filtration before drinking water reaches the dedicated mixer line.

Filter Maintenance

Cartridge replacement belongs to the filtration system's maintenance schedule and remains separate from the tapware warranty.

These treatment claims apply to the matched Puretec Z1 filtration system. Any alternative filter should only be described according to its own current manufacturer specification.

FILTERED MAINS OR TREATED RAINWATER

What Can the Dedicated Water Line Supply?

Puretec describes the Elite 10's smaller handle as operating the separate line for filtered rainwater or mains water.

Filtered Mains Water

A compatible point-of-use filter can treat mains water before supplying the dedicated drinking-water line.

Appropriately Treated Rainwater

The dedicated line may also receive water from an appropriately designed rainwater filtration and treatment system.

Mixer Is Not Treatment Equipment

The ELITE-10BG itself does not filter, disinfect or determine whether untreated water is suitable for drinking.

Water-source suitability depends on the complete treatment system. The mixer itself should not be treated as filtration or disinfection equipment.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec ELITE-10BG Pressure Requirements

Puretec currently specifies a standalone operating range of 50–500kPa for the ELITE-10BG.

Minimum 50kPa

The standalone mixer specification starts at 50kPa.

Maximum 500kPa

The mixer should remain within Puretec's stated 500kPa maximum working-pressure limit.

Equal Pressure Required

Puretec states that the Elite tap is not suitable for unequal-pressure installations.

High supply pressure requires appropriate pressure control. Where supply pressure exceeds the manufacturer's working limit, appropriate pressure limiting needs to be provided.

TAP VS COMPLETE FILTER PACKAGE

ELITE-10BG & Z1-E10-BG Pressure Specifications

The standalone mixer and Puretec's matched Z1 filter-and-tap package have different published pressure ranges.

Standalone ELITE-10BG

Puretec specifies 50–500kPa for the mixer itself.

Complete Z1-E10-BG

Puretec specifies 200–520kPa for the complete matched filter-and-tap package.

Installed Combination

The completed installation should satisfy the applicable requirements of every component, including the mixer's stated 500kPa maximum.

Component specifications are not interchangeable. A filtration system can introduce its own minimum pressure and flow requirements even where the standalone mixer can physically operate at lower pressure.

Should You Use a Water Filtration System?

For both mains and rainwater users, filtration is essential to ensure clean, safe drinking water. Here’s what we recommend:

✅ For Rainwater Users:

  • Puretec Hybrid G Series: Great for sediment, bacteria, and chlorine removal (if rainwater is treated).

  • Puretec Reverse Osmosis (RO) System: Removes copper, fluoride, and dissolved contaminants.

  • Puretec Filter Wall System: A high-flow system for whole-house filtration.

✅ For Mains Water Users:

  • Puretec X3 or Z1 Series: Best for drinking water filtration.

  • Puretec Reverse Osmosis (RO) System: Removes fluoride and heavy metals.

  • Puretec Filter Wall System: A high-flow system for whole-house filtration.
