PURETEC EM2-150 FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-150 JR Service Kit Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and fits the genuine Puretec cartridge pair used in the EM2-150 high-flow whole-house filtration system across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast properties.

The service kit combines the PL20MP2 20-micron washable pleated sediment cartridge with the PX01MP2 1-micron graded polyspun sediment cartridge. Both are MaxiPlus™ 4.5-inch × 20-inch cartridges.

This is a dual-stage sediment-filtration service. The PL20MP2 captures larger suspended particles first, then the PX01MP2 provides much finer 1-micron sediment filtration before the water continues through the property or into downstream treatment such as UV.

Puretec EM2-150 service kit at a glance: Stage 1 is PL20MP2 at 20 microns and Stage 2 is PX01MP2 at 1 micron. Both cartridges are sediment filters; neither is a carbon cartridge. Puretec rates the complete EM2-150 system at up to 150 L/min and recommends replacement of the EM-series cartridges every 6–12 months depending on water quality and usage.

What Is Included in the Puretec EM2-150 JR Service Kit?

1

PL20MP2 20-Micron Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The first stage is Puretec's washable polyester MaxiPlus™ sediment cartridge. Its pleated media provides a large filtration surface area for coarse sediment loading before water reaches the finer second stage.

2

PX01MP2 1-Micron Polyspun Sediment Cartridge

The second stage is Puretec's graded-density polypropylene depth cartridge. It provides nominal 1-micron filtration for finer dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and other suspended particles.

No carbon cartridge is included in this system. The standard EM2-150 cartridge pair is designed for progressive sediment filtration. It should not be promoted as a chlorine, PFAS, taste-and-odour or chemical-removal service kit unless another documented treatment stage is installed downstream.

Which Puretec Systems Use PL20MP2 & PX01MP2?

Puretec EM2-150

Puretec specifies PL20MP2 as Stage 1 and PX01MP2 as Stage 2 in the current EM2-150-LF high-flow whole-house filtration system.

Puretec EM2-140

The current EM2-140 uses the same PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 cartridge combination, with a different complete-system flow and connection specification.

Some Puretec Hybrid Systems

Models such as Hybrid R4 and Hybrid E9 also use this sediment pair, but those systems include additional UV treatment components. This two-cartridge kit is therefore not a complete Hybrid service.

JR page positioning: the current JR service product is specifically sold as the EM2-150 JR Service Kit. Compatibility with another Puretec system should be confirmed before booking rather than assumed from cartridge codes alone.

How the Puretec EM2-150 Filtration Stages Work

Stage 1: High-Capacity Coarse Sediment

Incoming water first passes through the PL20MP2. The 20-micron pleated media captures larger dirt, rust, sand, silt and other suspended material while providing a large dirt-holding surface.

Stage 2: Fine 1-Micron Sediment

The water then passes through the PX01MP2 graded-depth filter for significantly finer sediment filtration before leaving the EM2 system.

Why progressive filtration matters: using the coarser washable PL20MP2 first helps protect the finer PX01MP2 from unnecessary large-particle loading, helping the two cartridges work as a staged filtration system.

Puretec PL20MP2 Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The PL20MP2 is manufactured from durable non-woven reusable polyester fabric. The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for strength and sealed into an integrated end-cap and gasket arrangement.

20 Micron Nominal

Puretec specifies nominal 20-micron sediment filtration in the MaxiPlus™ 4.5-inch × 20-inch format.

Washable Polyester

The PL20MP2 is specifically manufactured as a washable and reusable pleated cartridge where its condition remains suitable.

Large Dirt-Holding Surface

Pleating increases the available filtration area, helping the first stage handle higher sediment loads efficiently.

Puretec currently publishes an individual PL20MP2 cartridge flow rating of 188 L/min.

Washable does not mean permanent. Cleaning can remove accumulated surface sediment, but Puretec still specifies regular cartridge maintenance and replacement based on condition, water quality and usage.

Puretec PX01MP2 1-Micron Sediment Cartridge

The PX01MP2 is manufactured from virgin polypropylene using a spun-and-melted process. Puretec's graded-density construction creates depth filtration without a conventional centre core restricting usable filtration media.

1 Micron Nominal

The PX01MP2 provides nominal 1-micron sediment filtration in a 4.5-inch × 20-inch MaxiPlus™ cartridge.

Graded Depth Filtration

The media is designed to capture particulate through the depth of the cartridge rather than only on the outside surface.

Fine Sediment Reduction

Puretec lists dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and other suspended particles among the PX Series filtration targets.

Puretec currently publishes an individual PX01MP2 cartridge flow rating of 152 L/min.

The PX01MP2 is not washable. It is a polyspun depth cartridge intended for replacement once its useful filtration life has been reached.

Does the EM2-150 Remove Chlorine or PFAS?

Not through the standard PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 cartridge combination. Both cartridges are sediment-filtration products.

Their documented purpose is reduction of suspended particulate including dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and similar sediment. They do not provide the same treatment function as a carbon cartridge, reverse-osmosis membrane or specialised PFAS-treatment media.

Important legacy-content correction: broad contaminant lists sometimes shown against ecommerce service products should not be treated as evidence that the PL20MP2 or PX01MP2 reduce chlorine, chloramine, VOCs, lead, PFAS or other dissolved contaminants. Those claims are not supported by the exact cartridge documentation reviewed for this service kit.

Is the EM2-150 a Disinfection System?

No. PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 provide mechanical sediment filtration only. They do not provide ultraviolet disinfection.

Puretec specifically describes the EM2-150 as suitable for use as pre-filtration before a UV system. Where rainwater, tank water or another source needs microbiological treatment, the complete water-treatment design should address that requirement separately.

What Happens During a Puretec EM2-150 Service?

  • Confirm the existing Puretec system model
  • Confirm PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 compatibility
  • Isolate the incoming water supply
  • Relieve pressure through a downstream tap or relief valve
  • Remove the existing filter bowls
  • Remove the used Stage 1 cartridge
  • Remove the used Stage 2 cartridge
  • Clean accessible housing bowls
  • Inspect O-rings and sealing surfaces
  • Apply food-grade lubricant where appropriate
  • Install PL20MP2 as Stage 1
  • Install PX01MP2 as Stage 2
  • Reassemble the housings correctly
  • Restore water pressure gradually
  • Check accessible joints for leakage
  • Flush the serviced system before normal use
Routine servicing does not automatically repair other faults. Cracked bowls, damaged O-rings, faulty valves, pressure issues, bracket damage, UV faults, pump faults or unrelated plumbing defects can require separate parts and labour.

What's Included With JR EM2-150 Servicing?

Genuine Puretec Cartridges

The core service pair is the genuine PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 specified by Puretec for the EM2-150.

Fitted Cartridge Replacement

For a compatible and serviceable system, JR can remove the existing cartridges, fit the replacements, restore pressure, flush and check the accessible installation.

Additional Repairs if Required

Housing, seal, valve, pump, UV, pressure-control or plumbing faults may require separate scope where existing components are no longer serviceable.

The live selector above is the source of truth. Use JR's current service package for exact fitted pricing, booking timeframe and current inclusions.

How Much Does Puretec EM2-150 Servicing Cost?

Current fitted service pricing is displayed in JR's live package selector above. The live selector should remain the pricing source rather than hard-coding an old service price into the product description.

A normal service assumes the existing filtration system is accessible, correctly identified and fundamentally serviceable.

Additional work may be required where filter housings, O-rings, isolation valves, pumps, UV equipment, pressure controls, brackets or connected plumbing need repair.

BRISBANE WHOLE-HOUSE FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-150 Service Brisbane

JR Gas & Water services compatible Puretec EM2-150 filtration systems across eligible Brisbane properties using genuine PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 replacement cartridges.

A Brisbane service renews both progressive sediment stages together, maintaining the intended 20-micron-to-1-micron filtration pathway rather than replacing only the first cartridge that appears visibly dirty.

JR can also identify obvious accessible issues such as deteriorated seals, leaking housings or associated pump and UV concerns that may require attention outside routine cartridge servicing. Eligible coverage also extends through Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands.

GOLD COAST WHOLE-HOUSE FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-150 Service Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also provides fitted EM2-150 servicing across eligible Gold Coast properties where the existing filtration equipment remains accessible and serviceable.

Rainwater and other non-mains water sources can place very different sediment loads on the cartridges depending on roof condition, tank cleanliness, rainfall, first-flush arrangements and source-water quality.

For that reason, practical cartridge life should be based on both elapsed time and system performance rather than assuming every property will reach exactly the same service interval.

How Often Does the Puretec EM2-150 Need Servicing?

Puretec's WH/EM maintenance guide specifies cartridge replacement every 6–12 months. For maintaining higher filtered-water quality, Puretec notes that approximately six-month replacement may be appropriate depending on incoming water quality and usage.

Sediment Loading

Heavy dirt, rust, sand, silt or algae loading can restrict the cartridges earlier and shorten the practical service interval.

Flow Reduction

A noticeable reduction in water flow or increased pressure drop through the filters can indicate that sediment loading is becoming excessive.

Water Usage

Higher household or commercial water demand moves a greater volume through the cartridges and can affect service life.

O-ring maintenance: Puretec's current WH/EM guidance recommends replacing housing O-rings approximately every 3–5 years to help maintain a watertight seal, or sooner where they are damaged or deteriorated.

Can the PL20MP2 Be Washed Instead of Replaced?

Yes. Puretec manufactures the PL20MP2 as a washable reusable polyester sediment cartridge. Where the media remains structurally sound, accumulated surface sediment can be cleaned from the pleats.

However, washing the PL20MP2 does not renew the second-stage PX01MP2. The PX01MP2 is a disposable graded-depth cartridge and should be replaced when its useful filtration life has been reached.

A complete scheduled EM2-150 service therefore involves assessing both cartridges rather than treating the washable first stage as the only maintenance item.

EM2-150 vs EM2-140 Service Compatibility

Feature EM2-150 EM2-140
Stage 1 PL20MP2 PL20MP2
Stage 2 PX01MP2 PX01MP2
Maximum System Flow 150 L/min 140 L/min
Connection 1½" BSP / 40 mm 1" BSP / 25 mm
Cartridge Pair Same Same

The cartridges are shared between the two models, but the complete systems have different connection and flow specifications. JR's live product here is specifically positioned as the EM2-150 service kit.

EM2-150 Service Kit vs Hybrid Service Kit

Service Type PL20MP2 PX01MP2 UV Components
EM2-150 Cartridge Service Yes Yes Not part of the standard EM2-150 cartridge system
Compatible Hybrid R4 Service Yes Yes Additional UV lamp / sleeve servicing required
Compatible Hybrid E9 Service Yes Yes Additional UV treatment components apply
Do not treat this two-cartridge set as a complete UV-system service. Where PL20MP2 and PX01MP2 are installed inside a Puretec Hybrid system, the lamp, quartz sleeve and other scheduled UV components need their own maintenance pathway.
