PURETEC EM2-100 RAINWATER FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-100 JR Service Kit Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and fits the genuine Puretec EM2-100 cartridge set for existing compatible rainwater and whole-house filtration systems across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast properties.

The service kit contains the two genuine 20-inch cartridges specified by Puretec for the EM2-100: the PL05MP2 5-micron washable pleated sediment cartridge followed by the DP10MP2 10-micron dual-purpose carbon-impregnated cartridge.

The first stage manages sediment loading before water reaches the DP10MP2, which provides additional sediment filtration together with reduction of unwanted taste, odour and chlorine taste and odour.

Puretec EM2-100 service kit at a glance: Stage 1 is PL05MP2, a washable nominal 5-micron pleated sediment cartridge. Stage 2 is DP10MP2, a nominal 10-micron dual-purpose cartridge using carbon-impregnated non-cellulose media. Both are 4.5-inch × 20-inch cartridges. Puretec specifies the same pair for EM2-100 and EM2-110 systems.

What Is Included in the Puretec EM2-100 JR Service Kit?

1

PL05MP2 5-Micron Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The first stage is Puretec's washable MaxiPlus™ pleated polyester sediment cartridge. Its large surface area captures dirt, silt, rust and other suspended particles before they reach the second treatment stage.

2

DP10MP2 10-Micron Dual-Purpose Cartridge

The second stage uses carbon-impregnated non-cellulose pleated media to provide additional sediment filtration together with manufacturer-listed taste, odour and chlorine taste-and-odour reduction.

Correct cartridge order: Puretec specifies PL05MP2 first and DP10MP2 second. The washable sediment stage protects the downstream dual-purpose cartridge from unnecessary particulate loading.

Which Puretec Systems Use PL05MP2 & DP10MP2?

Puretec EM2-100

The EM2-100 uses PL05MP2 as Stage 1 and DP10MP2 as Stage 2. Puretec rates the complete system at up to 100 L/min with a 1-inch BSP connection.

Puretec EM2-110

The EM2-110 uses the same replacement cartridge pair but has a manufacturer-published maximum flow of 110 L/min and a 1½-inch BSP connection.

Selected Hybrid UV Systems

Puretec also uses this cartridge combination in systems including Hybrid R2, Hybrid G7 and Hybrid E7, but those systems require additional UV service components.

This JR product is the EM2-100 service kit. Where PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 are installed in a Hybrid UV system, this two-cartridge pair is not the complete scheduled Hybrid service.

How the Puretec EM2-100 Filtration Stages Work

Stage 1: Washable Sediment Filtration

Incoming water first passes through the PL05MP2. Its nominal 5-micron pleated polyester media captures suspended sediment and provides a large dirt-holding surface.

Stage 2: Sediment & Carbon Treatment

Water then passes through the DP10MP2. Its carbon-impregnated non-cellulose media provides further sediment filtration together with taste, odour and chlorine taste-and-odour reduction.

Two different treatment jobs: the PL05MP2 is a dedicated sediment cartridge. The DP10MP2 combines sediment filtration with carbon treatment. They should not be described as two identical sediment filters.

Puretec PL05MP2 Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The PL05MP2 is manufactured from durable non-woven reusable polyester fabric pleated around a polypropylene core.

Puretec seals the ends of the pleated media into the cartridge assembly and sonically welds the overlap seam to help reduce internal bypass.

5-Micron Nominal

Puretec specifies nominal 5-micron filtration in the MaxiPlus™ 4.5-inch × 20-inch format.

Washable Polyester

The PL05MP2 can be cleaned where the cartridge media remains physically sound and suitable for continued use.

Large Surface Area

The pleated design increases dirt-holding area and helps the first stage manage higher suspended-sediment loading.

Puretec currently publishes an individual PL05MP2 cartridge flow rating of 180 L/min.

Individual cartridge flow is not system flow. Puretec rates the complete EM2-100 at 100 L/min, so the PL05MP2's individual rating should not be used as the installed-system performance figure.

Puretec DP10MP2 Dual-Purpose Cartridge

The DP10MP2 is constructed from carbon-impregnated non-cellulose media. Puretec designed it to combine sediment filtration with basic carbon treatment in one 20-inch cartridge.

10-Micron Nominal

The DP10MP2 has a nominal 10-micron rating in a 4.5-inch × 20-inch cartridge format.

Sediment Filtration

The pleated media provides additional dirt-holding capacity after the first-stage PL05MP2.

Carbon-Impregnated Media

Puretec specifically lists reduction of unwanted taste, odour and chlorine taste and odour.

Puretec identifies rainwater tanks, bore water, drinking-water filtration and compatible polishing applications among the DP Series uses.

“Resistant to bacterial attack” does not mean bacteria removal. Puretec describes the non-cellulose media itself as resistant to bacterial attack. The DP10MP2 is not a microbiological disinfection system.

What Does the EM2-100 Service Kit Treat?

Dirt, Rust & Sediment

The PL05MP2 provides first-stage sediment filtration while the DP10MP2 provides an additional particulate-treatment stage.

Taste & Odour

The carbon-impregnated DP10MP2 provides manufacturer-listed unwanted taste-and-odour reduction.

Chlorine Taste & Odour

The DP10MP2 also provides manufacturer-listed chlorine taste-and-odour reduction, which can be useful when a compatible system receives mains water.

Keep claims specific to the exact cartridges. The manufacturer documentation reviewed for PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 does not support automatically claiming PFAS, fluoride, lead, virus or bacteria removal for this two-cartridge service kit.

Is This a Complete Hybrid UV Service Kit?

No. Puretec also uses PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 in selected Hybrid UV systems, but those installations contain additional ultraviolet treatment equipment.

Hybrid R2

Uses PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 plus an RL6 UV lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve.

Hybrid G7

Uses the same two filtration cartridges together with separate UV treatment components.

Hybrid E7

Uses PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 within its dual-stage filtration and UV arrangement.

If your system has UV, confirm the full maintenance requirement. Replacing PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 alone does not renew an ageing UV lamp, quartz sleeve or other scheduled Hybrid components.

What Happens During a Puretec EM2-100 Service?

  • Confirm the exact existing Puretec system model
  • Confirm PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 compatibility
  • Isolate the incoming water supply
  • Relieve pressure through a downstream tap or housing relief
  • Remove the existing filter bowls
  • Remove both used cartridges
  • Clean accessible housing bowls where required
  • Inspect housing sealing surfaces
  • Inspect accessible O-rings
  • Install PL05MP2 as Stage 1
  • Install DP10MP2 as Stage 2
  • Reassemble filter housings correctly
  • Restore water pressure gradually
  • Check accessible joints for leakage
  • Flush replacement filtration media as required
  • Return the system to normal operation
Routine filter servicing does not automatically repair other faults. Cracked bowls, failed O-rings, leaking valves, damaged brackets, pump faults, UV faults, pressure problems or unrelated plumbing defects can require additional work.

What's Included With JR EM2-100 Servicing?

Genuine Puretec Cartridge Pair

The service uses the genuine PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 combination specified by Puretec for the EM2-100.

Fitted Cartridge Replacement

For a compatible and serviceable system, JR can remove the existing cartridges, install the replacements, restore water and check the serviced filtration equipment.

Additional Repairs if Required

Failed housings, O-rings, isolation valves, pumps, UV equipment, pressure controls or connected plumbing may require separate parts or labour.

The live JR selector above is the source of truth. Use the current package for exact fitted pricing, booking options and package-specific inclusions.

How Much Does Puretec EM2-100 Servicing Cost?

Current fitted pricing is displayed in JR's live service selector above. The live selector should remain the pricing source rather than placing a fixed historical amount into this description.

A standard service assumes the existing EM2 system is accessible, correctly identified and fundamentally serviceable.

Additional work may be required where housings, seals, valves, pumps, pressure controls, UV equipment or connected plumbing need repair.

BRISBANE RAINWATER FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-100 Service Brisbane

JR Gas & Water services existing Puretec EM2-100 filtration systems across eligible Brisbane properties using genuine PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 replacement cartridges.

A Brisbane EM2-100 service renews both filtration stages where due rather than cleaning or replacing only the visibly dirty first-stage sediment cartridge.

This matters because the DP10MP2 provides a separate treatment function, including taste, odour and chlorine taste-and-odour reduction. Eligible service coverage also extends through Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands.

GOLD COAST RAINWATER FILTER SERVICING

Puretec EM2-100 Service Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also provides fitted EM2-100 servicing across eligible Gold Coast properties where the existing filtration system remains accessible and suitable for maintenance.

Rainwater systems can experience very different sediment loads depending on roof condition, tank cleanliness, first-flush arrangements, rainfall and total household water use.

For that reason, cartridge condition, water flow and changes in taste or odour should be considered alongside the service calendar rather than assuming every EM2-100 will reach exactly the same cartridge life.

How Often Does the Puretec EM2-100 Need Servicing?

Puretec's WH/EM maintenance guide specifies cartridge replacement every 6–12 months. Puretec further notes that changing the cartridges approximately every six months can help maintain high filtered-water quality, depending on water quality and usage.

Sediment Loading

Heavy dirt, rust, sand, silt or other particulate can load the PL05MP2 faster and increase pressure drop through the system.

Taste & Odour Changes

Returning unwanted taste or odour can indicate that the DP10MP2 treatment media is reaching its practical service limit.

Household Water Use

Higher total water consumption puts more water through both cartridges and can shorten practical service intervals.

O-ring maintenance: Puretec's current WH/EM service guide recommends replacing housing O-rings approximately every 3–5 years to help maintain a watertight seal, or earlier if they are damaged.

Can the PL05MP2 Be Washed Instead of Replaced?

Yes. Puretec manufactures the PL05MP2 as a washable reusable polyester cartridge. Surface sediment can be cleaned from the pleats while the media remains in suitable condition.

However, washing the PL05MP2 does not renew the DP10MP2 carbon-impregnated media.

When the complete EM2-100 service interval has been reached, both stages should be considered rather than assuming cleaning the first cartridge has serviced the whole system.

Can the DP10MP2 Be Washed?

The DP10MP2 should not be treated like Puretec's washable PL-series sediment cartridges.

Its pleated media is carbon impregnated and provides treatment beyond basic sediment filtration. Once its sediment and carbon-treatment capacity has been exhausted, the appropriate maintenance action is replacement.

EM2-100 vs EM2-150 Service Kit

Feature EM2-100 EM2-150
Stage 1 PL05MP2 PL20MP2
Stage 2 DP10MP2 PX01MP2
Primary Treatment Sediment plus dual-purpose carbon treatment Progressive sediment filtration
Complete-System Flow 100 L/min 150 L/min
Connection 1" BSP 1½" BSP

Copper (Cu) Exceeds safe limit. Likely from corroding pipes or roofing. High levels can cause metallic taste and health risks. < 0.5 mg/L
pH (Acidic Water) Slightly too low. Acidic water can cause pipe corrosion and leach metals like copper into the water. 6.5 - 7.5
Alkalinity Low alkalinity can make water unstable and prone to pH fluctuations. 20 - 50 mg/L

Home and Plumbing Impacts

🔹 Total Hardness (8 mg/L in rainwater): Extremely soft water, which can be corrosive to pipes, leading to potential metal leaching from plumbing.

🔹 Iron & Manganese (Rainwater: Iron 0.03 mg/L, Manganese 0.009 mg/L): Low but can cause sediment buildup over time if not filtered.

🔹 Copper (2.24 mg/L in rainwater): High levels may indicate corrosion in metal roofing or pipes, leading to health and plumbing concerns.
