Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

Puretec TRIPLA-T4 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec TRIPLA-T4 across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting hot, cold and separately filtered water from one mixer.

The TRIPLA-T4 is a chrome 3-in-1 kitchen mixer with independent internal waterways for normal mains water and the dedicated filtered-water supply.

It can suit kitchen renovations, mixer replacements and new under-sink filtration installations where the homeowner wants filtered drinking water without adding a second drinking-water tap beside the main mixer.

Puretec TRIPLA-T4 at a glance: current model TRIPLA-T4-LF, hot/cold/filtered 3-way mixer, filtered and unfiltered water kept separate internally, 5L/min WELS 5 Star flow, 33mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone tap pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and Puretec's current six-year tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The TRIPLA-T4 Is the Mixer — The Filter Treats the Water

The TRIPLA-T4 provides a dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the mixer itself is not a water filter.

The quality and treatment of the water delivered from the filtered outlet depend on the filtration system connected underneath the sink.

TRIPLA-T4 Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer functions plus a dedicated pathway for filtered or appropriately treated water.

Under-Sink Filter

Determines the filtration method, micron rating, treatment claims, capacity and cartridge replacement schedule.

One Kitchen Fixture

Both normal mixer water and dedicated filtered drinking water are delivered through one tap body instead of two separate fixtures.

Choose the filtration system according to the water treatment required. Choose the TRIPLA-T4 according to the kitchen layout, mixer design and preference for one combined fixture.

3-WAY MIXER DESIGN

How Does the Puretec TRIPLA-T4 Work?

Normal Hot Water

The home's normal hot-water service connects to the standard mixer function for everyday kitchen use.

Normal Cold Water

Cold mains water remains available through the normal mixer pathway without unnecessarily using the drinking-water filter cartridge.

Filtered Water

A separate line from the compatible under-sink filtration system feeds the dedicated filtered-water pathway.

Filtered and unfiltered water remain separate inside the tap. Puretec specifically identifies independent internal waterways as a feature of the Tripla range.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

One Mixer Instead of a Main Tap Plus Separate Filter Tap

Normal hot water remains available for washing, rinsing and everyday kitchen use.
Normal cold water remains separate from the dedicated drinking-water filter pathway.
Filtered drinking water comes from the compatible under-sink filtration system.
One principal kitchen mixer avoids the need for a separate drinking-water outlet in suitable installations.
5L/min WELS 5 Star rated flow under Puretec's current T4 specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the TRIPLA-T4 Right for Your Kitchen?

The TRIPLA-T4 can suit properties where filtered drinking water is wanted at the kitchen sink without adding a separate filter tap.

Kitchen Renovation

The mixer can be selected alongside a new under-sink filtration system as part of a broader kitchen upgrade.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The current tap position can be assessed against Puretec's required 33mm mounting hole and the available plumbing beneath the sink.

Existing Filter Upgrade

A suitable existing under-sink filtration system may be able to supply the T4 if its pressure, tubing, fittings and condition are compatible.

Under-sink space still matters. The filter housing, valves, tubing and future cartridge replacement area all need to fit beneath the sink as part of the complete installation.

SINK & BENCHTOP LAYOUT

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid a Separate Drinking-Water Outlet

Using a 3-way mixer means dedicated filtered water can be delivered through the main kitchen fixture rather than requiring a separate filter tap beside it.

This can be particularly useful in kitchens where bench space is limited or where the homeowner wants a cleaner single-mixer appearance.

The existing opening still needs to suit the T4. Puretec specifies a 33mm diameter tap hole, so the sink or benchtop arrangement should be checked before installation.

FILTER OPTIONS

What Filtration Can Be Paired With the TRIPLA-T4?

Puretec sells the T4 as a standalone mixer and also incorporates it into complete filtration packages.

Puretec Z1-T4

The current Z1-T4 package combines the Tripla T4 with Puretec's Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

Compatible Under-Sink Filters

The mixer can also form part of another compatible drinking-water system where the pressure, tubing, connections and filtration configuration are suitable.

Puretec ESR2-T4

Puretec also lists the T4 in its ESR2 under-sink filtration and UV treatment range for appropriately treated rainwater applications.

Do not use the mixer specification as the specification for the complete filter system. A connected filtration system can have different pressure, temperature, capacity and maintenance requirements.

MAINS WATER FILTRATION

Puretec Z1-T4 Filter & Tap Package

Puretec currently pairs the TRIPLA-T4 with its Z1 Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

0.1 Micron Filtration

The current Z1-T4 package uses Puretec's Ultra Z filtration technology with a nominal 0.1 micron rating.

30,000L Capacity

Puretec currently lists the Z1-T4 system with a filter capacity of up to 30,000 litres under its stated conditions.

Separate Filtered Outlet

The filtered water remains on its own dedicated pathway through the T4 while ordinary hot and cold mixer water bypasses the filter cartridge.

The complete Z1-T4 system currently has a 200–500kPa pressure specification. This differs from the standalone T4 mixer's 50–500kPa range because the filtration equipment has its own operating requirements.

RAINWATER APPLICATIONS

Can the TRIPLA-T4 Be Used With Treated Rainwater?

Yes, when it forms part of a correctly designed water-treatment system.

Puretec currently lists an ESR2-T4 configuration combining the Tripla T4 with under-sink filtration and ultraviolet treatment for rainwater applications.

Pre-Filtration

The ESR2 treatment pathway includes filtration before the water reaches the dedicated treated-water outlet.

UV Treatment

The ESR2 range incorporates UV treatment as part of the rainwater treatment process.

Separate T4 Pathway

The appropriately treated water is delivered through the T4's dedicated pathway while normal hot and cold mixer water remain separate.

A mixer tap does not make untreated rainwater potable. Water-source quality and the complete filtration/disinfection system need to be appropriate for the intended use.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec TRIPLA-T4 Pressure Requirements

Puretec's current standalone TRIPLA-T4 specification lists an operating pressure range of 50–500kPa.

Minimum 50kPa

The current standalone mixer specification lists 50kPa as the minimum operating pressure.

Maximum 500kPa

The standalone tap should not be operated above Puretec's listed 500kPa maximum.

Filter Limits Also Apply

A connected filtration system can require a higher minimum pressure or another operating range that must also be satisfied.

Example: the current Puretec Z1-T4 system is specified at 200–500kPa, while the standalone T4 tap itself is specified at 50–500kPa.
