Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

Puretec TRIPLA-T3 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec TRIPLA-T3 across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting normal hot and cold water plus dedicated filtered drinking water from one mixer.

The TRIPLA-T3 is a chrome 3-in-1 kitchen mixer with a distinctive dual-handle configuration. The main handle controls normal hot and cold mains water, while the smaller dedicated handle operates the filtered-water pathway.

Puretec designs the internal waterways so the filtered supply remains completely separate from normal mains water inside the tap. This allows the kitchen to retain normal mixer functionality while adding drinking-water filtration without a separate filter tap beside the mixer.

Puretec TRIPLA-T3 at a glance: current model TRIPLA-T3-LF, dual-handle 3-way mixer, normal hot and cold plus separately filtered water, independent internal waterways and outlets, 7.5L/min WELS 4 Star rated flow, 33mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone mixer pressure range and 35mm ceramic cartridge.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The TRIPLA-T3 Is the Mixer — Your Filter Treats the Water

The TRIPLA-T3 provides the dedicated pathway for filtered drinking water, but the tap itself does not filter the water.

The filtration performance depends entirely on the under-sink water filter connected to the smaller filtered-water line.

TRIPLA-T3 Mixer

Provides the hot, cold and dedicated filtered-water outlets within one kitchen fixture.

Under-Sink Filter

Determines the micron rating, treatment claims, filter capacity and cartridge replacement requirements.

One Kitchen Tap

Filtered drinking water is available from the main kitchen fixture without installing a second visible drinking-water tap.

The filter and mixer perform separate jobs. Select the filtration system according to the treatment required and the TRIPLA-T3 according to the preferred kitchen layout and mixer style.

DUAL-HANDLE DESIGN

How Does the Puretec TRIPLA-T3 Work?

The T3 uses separate controls and internal pathways for the normal mixer supply and filtered drinking water.

Main Mixer Handle

The larger handle controls normal hot and cold mains water for standard kitchen washing and rinsing.

Filtered-Water Handle

The smaller handle controls the dedicated filtered-water supply from the compatible under-sink filtration system.

Separate Internal Tubes

Puretec specifies separate outlets and independent tubes inside the mixer so the filtered and unfiltered water sources do not mix.

This separation is one of the defining features of the TRIPLA-T3. Normal kitchen cold water does not need to consume the drinking-water filter cartridge every time the main mixer is used.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

One Mixer Instead of a Main Tap Plus Separate Filter Tap

Normal hot water remains available through the main mixer control.
Normal cold water remains available without unnecessarily passing through the drinking-water cartridge.
Dedicated filtered water is operated independently through the smaller filtered-water control.
One principal fixture keeps the sink area simpler than a standard mixer plus separate filter tap.
7.5L/min WELS 4 Star flow under the current Puretec T3 specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge for the main mixer function.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the TRIPLA-T3 Right for Your Kitchen?

The TRIPLA-T3 can suit kitchens where filtered drinking water is wanted at the main sink but a separate drinking-water tap is not preferred.

Kitchen Renovations

The T3 can be selected alongside a new under-sink filtration system when the sink, mixer and filtration layout are being planned together.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The existing mixer opening can be assessed against Puretec's 33mm tap-hole requirement and the plumbing available beneath the sink.

Existing Filter Upgrade

A compatible existing under-sink filter may be retained where its condition, pressure, fittings and tubing suit the new mixer.

Under-sink space is part of the installation. The filter housing, valves, tubing and future cartridge-service access all need to fit beneath the sink.

SEPARATE WATER PATHWAYS

Why Separate Filtered & Unfiltered Water?

Puretec uses independent pathways so drinking water treated by the under-sink filtration system is not mixed with ordinary mains water within the tap.

Dedicated Drinking Water

The filtered-water control accesses the treated-water line directly.

Normal Mixer Operation

Hot and cold mains water continue to operate through their normal pathway for general kitchen use.

Efficient Cartridge Use

Routine washing and rinsing do not have to pass through the drinking-water cartridge simply because a filtered-water system is installed.

CURRENT FLOW RATING

TRIPLA-T3 WELS Rating & Flow

The current T3 specification differs from the newer T4, T5 and T6 models.

Current TRIPLA-T3 specification: 7.5 litres per minute with a WELS 4 Star rating.

This is the current manufacturer figure for the TRIPLA-T3-LF and should be used instead of applying specifications from another Tripla model.

Model-specific specifications matter. Tripla mixers share the same broad 3-way concept, but flow ratings and design details can differ between models.

FILTER OPTIONS

What Filtration Can Be Paired With the TRIPLA-T3?

Puretec sells the T3 as a standalone mixer and also pairs it with complete under-sink filtration packages.

Puretec Z1-T3

The current Z1-T3 combines the Tripla T3 with Puretec's Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

Compatible Under-Sink Filters

The mixer can also be paired with another compatible point-of-use system where the pressure, connections, tubing and treatment configuration are appropriate.

Existing Filtration

A suitable existing system can potentially be retained where it is in serviceable condition and compatible with the dedicated ¼-inch filtered-water connection.

The complete filtration system can have different operating limits from the standalone mixer. The specifications for both components must be checked together.

PURETEC Z1-T3

TRIPLA-T3 With 0.1 Micron Under-Sink Filtration

Puretec currently offers the Z1-T3 package, combining the TRIPLA-T3 mixer with its Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filter.

0.1 Micron Rating

Puretec currently specifies a nominal 0.1 micron rating for the Z1 filtration cartridge.

30,000L Capacity

The current Z1-T3 specification lists a filter capacity of up to 30,000 litres under the manufacturer's stated conditions.

Separate Filtered Pathway

The treated drinking water enters the dedicated T3 filtered-water pathway while normal hot and cold mixer water remain separate.

The 0.1 micron rating and 30,000L capacity belong to the Z1 filtration system, not to the TRIPLA-T3 mixer itself.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec TRIPLA-T3 Pressure Requirements

Puretec's current standalone TRIPLA-T3 specification lists an operating pressure range of 50–500kPa.

Minimum 50kPa

The standalone mixer specification lists 50kPa as the minimum operating pressure.

Maximum 500kPa

The standalone tap should not be operated above Puretec's current 500kPa maximum specification.

Filter Limits May Differ

The filtration system connected to the T3 can impose its own minimum pressure requirement.

Example: the complete Puretec Z1-T3 system is currently specified at 200–500kPa even though the standalone T3 mixer is rated from 50–500kPa.
