Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

Puretec TRIPLA-T1 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec TRIPLA-T1 across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting hot, cold and separately filtered water through one mixer.

The TRIPLA-T1 is a chrome 3-in-1 kitchen mixer with a classic curved profile. The main handle controls normal hot and cold mains water, while the dedicated lower handle operates the filtered or treated-water pathway.

Puretec designs the normal mixer water and filtered supply with independent internal tubes and outlets so they remain separate inside the tap.

Puretec TRIPLA-T1 at a glance: current model TRIPLA-T1-LF, 3-way hot/cold/filtered mixer, dedicated lower filtered-water handle, independent filtered and unfiltered waterways, 7.5L/min WELS 4 Star flow, 33mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone mixer pressure range and a 35mm ceramic cartridge.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The TRIPLA-T1 Is the Tap — The Filter Provides the Treatment

The TRIPLA-T1 gives the kitchen a dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the mixer itself does not filter the water.

The under-sink filtration system connected to the lower-handle waterway determines the actual treatment performance.

TRIPLA-T1 Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold water plus a separate filtered or appropriately treated water pathway.

Under-Sink Filter

Determines the micron rating, contaminant-reduction claims, capacity and cartridge replacement requirements.

One Kitchen Fixture

Allows the dedicated drinking-water outlet to be integrated into the main mixer rather than adding a second tap.

Select the filter for the water treatment you need, then select the mixer for the kitchen layout and design you want. The two components perform different jobs.

DEDICATED LOWER HANDLE

How Does the Puretec TRIPLA-T1 Work?

Main Mixer Handle

The main control operates normal hot and cold mains water for standard kitchen use.

Lower Filtered-Water Handle

The separate lower handle operates the dedicated filtered tank or mains-water supply independently.

Independent Internal Tubes

Puretec specifies separate outlets and independent internal tubes so filtered and unfiltered water do not mix inside the mixer.

Routine sink use does not need to consume the drinking-water filter cartridge. Normal hot and cold water remain separate from the filtered-water control.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

Hot, Cold & Filtered Water From One Kitchen Fixture

Normal hot water remains available through the main mixer.
Normal cold water remains available without unnecessarily passing through the drinking-water filter.
Dedicated filtered water is operated independently through the lower control.
One principal mixer can avoid the need for a separate filter tap beside the kitchen fixture.
7.5L/min WELS 4 Star flow under Puretec's current T1 specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the TRIPLA-T1 Right for Your Kitchen?

The T1 can suit properties where filtered drinking water is wanted at the main kitchen sink without a separate drinking-water fixture.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The current mixer position can be checked against Puretec's required 33mm mounting hole and the available plumbing underneath.

Kitchen Renovation

The mixer and under-sink filtration system can be selected together as part of a kitchen upgrade.

Existing Filter Upgrade

A suitable existing filter may be retained where its condition, operating pressure, fittings and tubing remain compatible.

Under-sink space is part of the selection. The filtration system, tubing, valves and access for future cartridge servicing all need to fit beneath the sink.

STONE BENCHTOPS

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid a Separate Filter-Tap Hole

JR's current installation guidance does not allow drilling a new separate filter-tap hole into engineered or natural stone because of silica-dust and benchtop-damage risks.

Where the existing principal mixer opening is suitable, a 3-way mixer such as the TRIPLA-T1 can provide normal hot, normal cold and dedicated filtered water from that one position.

The existing mixer opening still needs to suit the T1. Puretec specifies a 33mm diameter tap hole, so the existing sink or benchtop arrangement should be checked before installation.

CURRENT FLOW RATING

TRIPLA-T1 WELS Rating & Flow

Puretec currently rates the TRIPLA-T1 at 7.5 litres per minute with a WELS 4 Star rating.

Model-specific specification: use the T1's 7.5L/min WELS 4 Star rating rather than applying specifications from another Tripla model.

MAINS WATER FILTRATION

Puretec Z1-T1 Filter & Mixer Package

Puretec currently pairs the TRIPLA-T1 with its Z1 Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

0.1 Micron Rating

Puretec currently lists a nominal 0.1 micron rating for the Z1 filtration technology used in the complete Z1-T1 system.

30,000L Capacity

The current Z1-T1 specification lists filter capacity of up to 30,000 litres under the manufacturer's stated conditions.

Dedicated Filtered Pathway

The filtered drinking water feeds the T1's separate waterway while normal hot and cold kitchen water bypass the drinking-water cartridge.

The 0.1 micron rating and 30,000L capacity belong to the Z1 filtration system, not the TRIPLA-T1 mixer itself.

TAP VS COMPLETE SYSTEM PRESSURE

TRIPLA-T1 & Z1-T1 Pressure Requirements

Puretec currently specifies different minimum pressures for the standalone mixer and the complete filtration package.

Standalone T1

The current TRIPLA-T1 mixer specification is 50–500kPa.

Complete Z1-T1

Puretec's current complete Z1-T1 filtration package is specified at 200–500kPa.

Why the Difference?

The filter system adds its own flow and operating requirements, so the complete installation must satisfy the narrower applicable specification.

Do not use the standalone mixer pressure rating as the specification for every completed filtration installation. The connected filter system's operating limits also apply.

RAINWATER APPLICATIONS

Can the TRIPLA-T1 Be Used With Treated Rainwater?

Yes, when the tap is supplied by an appropriately designed rainwater treatment system.

Puretec currently offers the ESR2-T1, pairing the Tripla T1 with under-sink filtration and ultraviolet treatment for untreated water supplies such as rainwater.

Pre-Filtration

The ESR2 system filters sediment and other material as part of its staged treatment process.

UV Treatment

Puretec's ESR2 platform incorporates Radfire ultraviolet technology as part of its microorganism-control process.

Dedicated T1 Outlet

The appropriately treated water reaches the kitchen through the T1's separate lower-handle waterway.

The TRIPLA-T1 itself does not make untreated rainwater suitable for drinking. Water safety depends on the complete treatment and disinfection system being appropriate for the water source and intended use.
