    What is an STC?

STC stands for Small-scale Technology Certificate. It is part of an Australian Government scheme designed to encourage energy-efficient hot water systems and other eligible renewable technologies.

    How does it work?

When your new system qualifies, STCs are created based on the expected energy savings and location of the installation. These certificates have a value, and that value is applied as an upfront discount to help reduce the installed cost.

How is it shown on our jobs?

For eligible systems, the STC value is already included as a flat rate $1000 upfront discount in the total installed price shown, so you do not need to claim it separately after installation.

    Who is eligible?

Eligibility generally applies to installations of approved systems at Australian homes and businesses where the product, property type, and installation details meet current STC program requirements.

If you are unsure whether your property or system qualifies, contact us before ordering and we can help confirm it.

RECLAIM CO2 SPLIT HEAT PUMP HOT WATER

Reclaim CO2 400L Glass-Lined Heat Pump Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Reclaim CO2 400L Glass-Lined V1.1 Panasonic heat pump system across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland areas for homes wanting large-capacity stored hot water combined with Reclaim's split CO2 heat-pump platform.

The current V1.1 configuration is REHP-KY-CO2-400GL and combines the Panasonic HE-UM60AR outdoor heat pump, Reclaim Smart Controller V1.1 and RE400AGLH glass-lined storage tank.

Although marketed as the 400L system, Reclaim's current tank specification lists the RE400AGLH with 420 litres total physical volume. The cylinder measures approximately 701mm in diameter and 1699mm high and uses an 850kPa pressure-temperature relief valve.

At Reclaim's stated test condition of 32.5°C ambient air and 21°C incoming water, the Panasonic heat pump produces 5.06kW of heat from 0.83kW electrical input, giving a published COP of 6.09. That figure is a defined test-condition result rather than a fixed efficiency level under every operating condition.

Quick answer: the Reclaim CO2 400L V1.1 is a split-system heat pump using the Panasonic HE-UM60AR and a 420L physical-volume glass-lined RE400AGLH tank. Reclaim publishes COP 6.09 under its stated test condition, 5.06kW heat output, 37dB noise, R744 refrigerant, -10°C to +43°C operation and six controller modes.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Reclaim CO2 400L Right for My Home?

A Good Choice If...

You need substantial stored hot water, want the Panasonic CO2 split platform and have suitable positions for the 701mm-diameter cylinder and separate outdoor heat pump.

Consider Another Option If...

Your household can comfortably operate with a smaller storage volume, installation space is restricted or a stainless tank is specifically required for the property's water chemistry or project requirements.

JR Should Check First If...

You use bore or another non-standard water source, have restricted access, need long tank-to-heat-pump pipe runs, want the tank installed indoors or are converting from gas or solar hot water.

Glass-Lined Tank vs Stainless Steel: Which 400L Reclaim Is This?

This product is the glass-lined V1.1 configuration. Its system model is REHP-KY-CO2-400GL and its tank model is RE400AGLH.

It should not be confused with the separate REHP-KY-CO2-400SST stainless configuration, which uses the APS400TH stainless tank.

This Product: 400L Glass-Lined

RE400AGLH tank, 420L physical volume, 701mm diameter, 1699mm height and 850kPa PTRV rating.

Separate 400L Stainless Model

APS400TH tank, also 420L physical volume, but with different cylinder construction, dimensions, PTRV rating and manufacturer warranty.

Important: the older product copy incorrectly described this GL product as using the APS400TH stainless tank. The current Reclaim model identification confirms this V1.1 product uses the RE400AGLH glass-lined tank.

How Does the Reclaim CO2 Heat Pump Work?

Cooler water from the lower part of the storage cylinder circulates to the Panasonic HE-UM60AR outdoor unit. The heat pump draws thermal energy from ambient air and transfers it into the water using an R744 CO2 refrigeration circuit.

The heated water returns toward the upper section of the tank. Reclaim publishes a heat-pump hot-water delivery range of approximately 63–67°C, depending on the heat-pump inlet-water temperature.

This top-down heating approach allows useful hot water to build toward the top of the cylinder while the heat pump continues heating the remaining stored water.

How it works: cooler tank water → Panasonic heat pump → ambient-air heat collected → CO2 refrigeration circuit transfers heat → heated water returns to the upper section of the glass-lined tank.

Key Features of the Reclaim CO2 400L V1.1

Remote One Shot Boost can also be triggered through a compatible dry-contact signal from suitable PV or home-energy-management equipment.

The heat pump does not connect directly to rooftop solar collectors. Solar PV supplies electricity to the property, while the Reclaim controller determines when the heat pump operates.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the Reclaim CO2 400L?

Outdoor heat-pump position with sufficient ventilation and service access.

Minimum free space behind the heat pump of 100mm, together with the other airflow and inspection clearances shown in Reclaim's installation layout.

Heat pump raised on a suitable stand where required for correct condensate drainage.

Tank installed vertically at ground or floor level on a suitable concrete or approved heavy-duty base.

Safe condensate drainage from the outdoor heat-pump unit.

Safety tray and drainage protection where the glass-lined tank is installed indoors.

Dedicated 15A heat-pump circuit under Reclaim's current V1.1 installation instructions.

Separate GPO for the controller in the applicable V1.1 arrangement.

Correct insulated heat-pump flow and return pipework between the Panasonic unit and storage tank.

No more than five bends in the heat-pump interconnecting water circuit under the current V1.1 installation manual.

Tempering protection for applicable sanitary outlets because the system produces water above normal bathroom delivery temperatures.

Pressure control and water quality appropriate to the RE400AGLH glass-lined tank and HE-UM60AR system.

Tank-to-heat-pump distance: Reclaim's current V1.1 installation manual specifies a maximum of 10m horizontal and 3m vertical with no more than five bends. Its current residential tank specification separately lists 10m horizontal and 5m vertical. Because the two manufacturer documents conflict, the proposed vertical separation should be confirmed against the applicable current installation requirement before work proceeds.

Glass-Lined Tank Maintenance

The RE400AGLH differs from a stainless tank because the glass-lined cylinder uses a sacrificial anode for corrosion protection.

Anode Inspection

Reclaim's current V1.1 manual requires the glass-lined tank anode to be inspected initially after five years and then every three years thereafter.

PTRV Testing

Reclaim recommends manually operating the pressure-temperature relief valve every six months to help flush deposits and confirm normal discharge.

Outdoor Heat Pump

Keep the Panasonic unit's intake, discharge and servicing areas free from stored items, vegetation and other airflow obstructions.

Glass-lined ownership difference: future access should allow the sacrificial anode to be removed and inspected. This servicing requirement does not apply in the same way to Reclaim's stainless cylinder configurations.

What's Included With Reclaim CO2 400L Installation?

Standard Installation

The selected JR package covers the applicable standard labour and materials where the existing services, access and proposed tank and heat-pump locations satisfy the package conditions.

Commissioning

The system is filled and purged, the controller is configured and the heat pump, interconnecting circuit, valves, drainage and normal operation are checked before completion.

Possible Additional Work

Electrical alterations, pressure-control work, extra valves, longer pipework, drainage, new bases, relocation, restricted access or internal-tank requirements can change the installation scope.

How Much Does Reclaim CO2 400L Installation Cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing remains in JR's live product and installation selector above. This keeps current system price, installation package, STC treatment, availability and booking options connected to JR's live Shopify product logic.

Installation cost varies with the existing hot-water system, electrical supply, pressure control, valve arrangement, access, tank base, outdoor heat-pump position, drainage and interconnecting pipe length.

A suitable existing heat-pump or electric-storage replacement will generally have a different scope from a gas conversion, solar replacement, substantial relocation or internal tank installation.

BRISBANE INSTALLATION

Reclaim CO2 400L Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Reclaim CO2 400L Glass-Lined V1.1 system in Brisbane for eligible high-capacity heat-pump replacements and conversions.

The 701mm-diameter tank requires more width than Reclaim's smaller cylinders, so side access, gates, pathways and the final storage position should be checked before installation. The separate Panasonic unit then needs an outdoor location with suitable airflow, drainage and service access.

For properties replacing an electric-storage system, the existing cylinder position may sometimes remain useful while the outdoor heat pump is located separately within Reclaim's permitted piping limits.

JR services eligible Brisbane properties together with Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton Bay and surrounding South East Queensland areas.

GOLD COAST INSTALLATION

Reclaim CO2 400L Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also supplies and installs the Reclaim CO2 400L V1.1 on the Gold Coast where household demand, site access and installation conditions suit the system.

The Panasonic outdoor unit should be positioned with airflow, bedrooms, neighbouring properties and coastal exposure in mind. Reclaim's installation guidance specifically addresses protection from direct sea water and sea breeze in coastal environments.

Because this model uses a glass-lined tank, the final position should also preserve practical access for future anode servicing as well as valve and plumbing maintenance.

Can the Reclaim CO2 400L Replace My Existing Hot Water System?

Replacing Electric Storage

This can be a practical upgrade where there is enough room for the large glass-lined cylinder, outdoor Panasonic heat pump and required electrical provision.

Replacing Another Heat Pump

An existing heat pump can potentially be replaced, but tank dimensions, electrical supply, drainage and the new split-system pipe route should be reassessed.

Replacing Gas Hot Water

A gas-to-heat-pump conversion generally involves new electrical provision and altered hot-water plumbing together with appropriate work to the redundant gas system.

Replacing Solar Hot Water

A solar system can be converted, but the old cylinder, collectors, booster arrangement, solar plumbing and removal requirements should form part of the final scope.

Reclaim CO2 315L vs 400L Glass-Lined

Both glass-lined V1.1 systems can use the Panasonic HE-UM60AR platform. The principal difference is the amount of stored water and tank footprint.

Specification 315L Glass-Lined 400L Glass-Lined
System REHP-KY-CO2-315GL REHP-KY-CO2-400GL
Tank AP315AGLH / RE315AGLH RE400AGLH
Total Physical Volume 323L 420L
Diameter 617mm 701mm
Height 1765mm 1699mm
PTRV Rating 850kPa 850kPa
V1.1 Heat Pump Panasonic HE-UM60AR Panasonic HE-UM60AR
Main Difference Narrower tank with lower stored-water volume. Wider tank with approximately 97L additional physical volume.

The 400L-class system is not automatically necessary simply because space is available. Household peak demand, preferred heating schedule and available tank footprint should determine which size is more appropriate.

How Efficient Is the Reclaim CO2 V1.1?

Reclaim publishes a COP of 6.09 at 32.5°C ambient air and 21°C incoming water. At that same test condition, the HE-UM60AR produces 5.06kW of heat using 0.83kW electrical input.

Real-world COP varies with outdoor temperature, incoming-water temperature, cycling, defrost operation, pipe heat loss and controller scheduling.

The most useful way to read the COP figure is as a manufacturer performance point for comparing the heat-pump technology rather than as a guarantee of a particular household electricity bill.

Efficiency takeaway: under suitable conditions, the Reclaim heat pump can produce substantially more heat energy than the electrical energy it consumes, while the controller allows operation to be scheduled around solar-generation or tariff periods.
