    What is an STC?

STC stands for Small-scale Technology Certificate. It is part of an Australian Government scheme designed to encourage energy-efficient hot water systems and other eligible renewable technologies.

    How does it work?

When your new system qualifies, STCs are created based on the expected energy savings and location of the installation. These certificates have a value, and that value is applied as an upfront discount to help reduce the installed cost.

How is it shown on our jobs?

For eligible systems, the STC value is already included as a flat rate $1000 upfront discount in the total installed price shown, so you do not need to claim it separately after installation.

    Who is eligible?

Eligibility generally applies to installations of approved systems at Australian homes and businesses where the product, property type, and installation details meet current STC program requirements.

If you are unsure whether your property or system qualifies, contact us before ordering and we can help confirm it.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Reclaim CO2 315L Right for My Home?

A Good Choice If...

You want a high-efficiency CO2 split heat pump, need substantial stored hot water and can provide practical locations for the 617mm-diameter tank and separate Panasonic outdoor unit.

Consider Another Option If...

Your household has much lower hot-water demand, available tank space is restricted or a stainless-steel cylinder is specifically required for the project or water supply.

JR Should Check First If...

You use bore or another non-standard water supply, want the tank indoors, need long interconnecting pipe runs, have difficult site access or are converting from gas or solar hot water.

Glass-Lined or Stainless Steel: Which Reclaim 315L Is This?

This product is the glass-lined REHP-KY-CO2-315GL V1.1 configuration. The current Reclaim tank specification identifies the compatible glass-lined tanks as AP315AGLH and RE315AGLH.

It is different from the separate REHP-KY-CO2-315SST stainless system, which uses the taller and narrower APS315TH stainless cylinder.

This Product: 315L Glass-Lined

323L physical volume, 617mm diameter, 1765mm height and 850kPa PTRV rating.

Separate 315L Stainless Model

APS315TH with 330L physical volume, 565mm diameter, 2090mm height and 700kPa PTRV rating.

Important correction: older JR copy referred to an APS315TH stainless tank on this GL product. Reclaim's current model and tank specifications show that APS315TH belongs to the separate stainless configuration.

How Does the Reclaim CO2 Heat Pump Work?

Cooler water from the lower section of the storage tank is circulated through the separate Panasonic HE-UM60AR outdoor unit. The heat pump collects thermal energy from surrounding air and transfers that energy into the water through its R744 CO2 refrigeration circuit.

The heated water returns toward the upper section of the storage cylinder. Reclaim publishes a heat-pump hot-water delivery range of approximately 63–67°C, depending on the water temperature entering the heat pump.

This top-down heating process helps create a usable reserve of hot water toward the top of the tank while the lower stored water continues through the heating cycle.

How it works: cooler tank water → Panasonic CO2 heat pump → heat collected from outdoor air → water heated → hot water returned toward the top of the glass-lined tank.

Key Features of the Reclaim CO2 315L V1.1

R744 CO2 Refrigerant

The HE-UM60AR uses carbon dioxide refrigerant, also known as R744.

The daytime mode can suit homes wanting normal water heating concentrated around typical rooftop-solar production hours. Remote One Shot Boost provides another control pathway for compatible PV inverters, smart switches or home-energy-management systems.

Can the Reclaim CO2 315L Run With Solar PV?

Yes. The V1.1 controller includes a dedicated 10am–4pm daytime operating option, allowing normal water heating to be concentrated into typical solar-production hours where that schedule suits household demand.

Remote One Shot Boost can also receive a dry-contact signal from compatible PV inverters, smart switches or home-energy-management equipment.

The heat pump does not connect directly to rooftop solar collectors. Solar PV supplies electricity to the property, while the Reclaim controller determines when the heat pump is permitted or requested to run.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the Reclaim CO2 315L?

Outdoor heat-pump location with adequate ventilation and practical service access.

No obstructions within approximately 100mm of the heat-pump unit as a baseline manufacturer ventilation requirement, together with the applicable inspection clearances.

At least three open directions where possible around the outdoor unit's airflow path.

Heat pump installed on a suitable stand at least 100mm high where required for correct drainage.

Tank installed vertically at ground or floor level on a suitable supporting base.

Safety tray and appropriate drainage where the glass-lined tank is installed indoors.

Electrical provision for the Panasonic heat pump with Reclaim specifying a 15A circuit-breaker size.

Controller power supply correctly provided and wired as part of the V1.1 installation.

Correct insulated flow-and-return plumbing between the storage tank and Panasonic outdoor unit.

No more than five bends in the heat-pump flow-and-return circuit under the current V1.1 installation manual.

Tempering protection where required because the system produces and stores water above normal sanitary delivery temperatures.

Suitable water quality and pressure for the exact glass-lined tank configuration.

Tank-to-heat-pump distance: Reclaim's current V1.1 installation manual specifies a maximum of 10m horizontal and 3m vertical with no more than five bends. Its current residential tank specification separately lists 10m horizontal and 5m vertical. Because the manufacturer documents conflict, the proposed vertical separation should be confirmed against the applicable current installation requirement before installation.

Glass-Lined Tank Maintenance

The 315L GL model uses a glass-lined cylinder with a sacrificial anode. This creates a different maintenance requirement from the separate stainless-steel version.

Anode Inspection

Reclaim specifies an initial sacrificial-anode inspection after five years and then every three years thereafter.

PTRV Testing

Reclaim recommends manually testing the pressure-temperature relief valve every six months to help flush deposits and confirm normal discharge.

Heat Pump Airflow

Keep vegetation, stored items and other obstructions away from the outdoor-unit intake and discharge areas.

Service access matters: Reclaim requires the tank position to allow future sacrificial-anode removal, so available overhead and service access should be considered before the cylinder is permanently positioned.

What's Included With Reclaim CO2 315L Installation?

Standard Installation

The selected JR installation package covers the applicable standard labour and materials where the existing services, access and proposed tank and heat-pump locations satisfy that package's conditions.

Commissioning

The system is filled and purged, controller settings are configured and the heat pump, interconnecting circuit, valves, drainage and normal operation are checked before completion.

Possible Additional Work

Electrical alterations, pressure control, extra valves, longer pipework, new bases, drainage, relocation, restricted access or special indoor-tank requirements can change the final scope.

How Much Does Reclaim CO2 315L Installation Cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing remains in JR's live product and installation area above. This keeps the system price, package scope, product availability, STC treatment and booking options connected to JR's live Shopify logic.

Installation cost varies according to the existing hot-water system, electrical supply, valves, pressure control, tank base, heat-pump position, drainage, interconnecting pipe length and access.

A straightforward replacement where suitable services already exist will have a different installation scope from a gas conversion, solar replacement, indoor tank installation or substantial relocation.

BRISBANE INSTALLATION

Reclaim CO2 315L Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Reclaim CO2 315L Glass-Lined V1.1 system in Brisbane for eligible heat-pump replacements, electric-storage upgrades and suitable conversions from other hot-water technologies.

The 617mm-diameter tank should be checked against side access, gates, paths and the final cylinder location before installation. The separate Panasonic heat pump then needs an outdoor position with suitable ventilation, drainage and future service access.

The split layout can be useful where an existing storage-cylinder location still works well for plumbing but does not provide suitable airflow for an integrated heat pump.

JR services eligible Brisbane properties and surrounding South East Queensland areas including Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Moreton Bay.

GOLD COAST INSTALLATION

Reclaim CO2 315L Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also supplies and installs the Reclaim CO2 315L V1.1 on the Gold Coast where household demand, access and installation conditions suit the system.

The Panasonic outdoor unit should be positioned with airflow, nearby bedrooms, neighbouring properties, boundaries and coastal exposure in mind. Reclaim's current installation guidance specifically addresses protection from direct sea water and sea breeze in coastal environments.

Because this model uses a glass-lined cylinder, the final tank position should also preserve practical future access for anode servicing, valves and other maintenance.

Can the Reclaim CO2 315L Replace My Existing Hot Water System?

Replacing Electric Storage

This can be a practical upgrade where the site can accommodate the storage cylinder, separate outdoor heat pump and required electrical provision.

Replacing Another Heat Pump

An existing heat pump can potentially be replaced, but tank dimensions, electrical supply, drainage and the new split-system pipe route should still be reassessed.

Replacing Gas Hot Water

A gas-to-heat-pump conversion generally requires new electrical provision and changed plumbing together with appropriate work to the existing gas hot-water installation.

Replacing Solar Hot Water

Solar hot water can be converted, but the existing tank, roof collectors, solar pipework, booster arrangement and removal requirements should form part of the final scope.

Reclaim CO2 315L Glass-Lined vs Stainless Steel

The current V1.1 Panasonic platform can be paired with either glass-lined or stainless Reclaim storage. The tank construction, dimensions, pressure rating and warranty differ.

Specification 315L Glass-Lined 315L Stainless
V1.1 System Model REHP-KY-CO2-315GL REHP-KY-CO2-315SST
Tank AP315AGLH / RE315AGLH APS315TH
Construction Glass-lined Stainless steel
Total Physical Volume 323L 330L
Diameter 617mm 565mm
Height 1765mm 2090mm
PTRV Rating 850kPa 700kPa
Sacrificial Anode Yes No glass-lined sacrificial-anode servicing requirement
Current Tank Warranty Summary 10 years parts only 15 years parts only
Main Installation Difference Shorter but wider cylinder. Narrower but substantially taller cylinder.

How Efficient Is the Reclaim CO2 V1.1?

Reclaim publishes a COP of 6.09 at 32.5°C ambient and 21°C incoming water. Under the same test condition, the HE-UM60AR produces 5.06kW of heat from 0.83kW electrical input.

Real-world COP changes with outdoor temperature, incoming-water temperature, cycling, defrost operation, pipe heat loss and controller scheduling.

The COP figure is therefore best used as a manufacturer performance point rather than a guarantee of a particular household electricity bill.

Efficiency takeaway: under suitable conditions the heat pump can produce substantially more heat energy than the electricity it consumes, while the controller allows operation to be shifted toward favourable solar-generation or tariff periods.
