Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

Puretec TRIPLA-T6 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec TRIPLA-T6 across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting normal hot and cold water plus a dedicated filtered-water outlet from one mixer.

The TRIPLA-T6 is a chrome 3-in-1 kitchen mixer with separate internal pathways for normal mains water and filtered drinking water. This allows a compatible under-sink filtration system to supply dedicated filtered water through the same tap body without routing ordinary hot or cold mixer water through the drinking-water cartridge.

It can suit kitchen renovations, replacement of an existing mixer, new under-sink filtration installations and properties where a separate filter tap is not wanted.

Puretec TRIPLA-T6 at a glance: current model TRIPLA-T6-LF, hot/cold/filtered 3-way mixer, filtered water kept separate from normal mains water, 5L/min WELS 5 Star rated flow, 33mm required tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa tap pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and Puretec's current six-year tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The TRIPLA-T6 Is the Tap — Your Filter Determines the Water Treatment

The TRIPLA-T6 provides the dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the tap itself does not filter the water.

The treatment delivered at the filtered outlet depends on the filtration system connected underneath the sink.

TRIPLA-T6 Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer functions plus a separate pathway for filtered drinking water.

Under-Sink Filter

The connected filtration system determines which substances are reduced and what maintenance schedule applies.

One Kitchen Fixture

Both functions are delivered through one mixer body without requiring a second drinking-water tap beside it.

Choose the filtration system for the treatment you want, then choose the mixer for the kitchen layout and appearance you want. The tap and filter perform different jobs.

3-WAY MIXER DESIGN

How Does the Puretec TRIPLA-T6 Work?

Normal Hot Water

The home's normal hot-water supply connects to the mixer for washing, rinsing and everyday kitchen use.

Normal Cold Water

The normal cold-water supply remains available for standard mixer operation.

Filtered Drinking Water

A separate filtered-water line connects from the compatible under-sink filtration system to the dedicated filtered pathway inside the tap.

Puretec specifically states that filtered and unfiltered water do not mix inside the TRIPLA-T6. Independent internal water paths preserve the dedicated filtered-water function.

WHY CHOOSE A 3-WAY MIXER?

One Tap Instead of a Mixer Plus Separate Filter Tap

Normal hot water for everyday kitchen use.
Normal cold water without unnecessarily using the drinking-water filter cartridge.
Dedicated filtered water through a separate internal pathway.
One mixer body instead of adding a second tap beside the kitchen mixer.
5L/min WELS 5 Star rated mixer flow under Puretec's current specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the TRIPLA-T6 Right for Your Kitchen?

The TRIPLA-T6 can suit kitchens where the customer wants a dedicated filtered drinking-water supply but prefers not to add a separate filter tap.

Replacing an Existing Mixer

The existing tap position can be assessed against the required 33mm mounting hole and the plumbing arrangement beneath the sink.

Adding Under-Sink Filtration

The TRIPLA-T6 can be installed at the same time as a compatible under-sink Puretec filtration system.

Existing Filter Upgrade

A compatible existing filtration system may be able to supply the dedicated filtered line, subject to its fittings, pressure and condition.

Under-sink space still matters. The mixer itself is only one part of the installation. The filtration system, valves, tubing and service clearance for future cartridge changes must also fit beneath the sink.

STONE BENCHTOPS

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid Adding a Second Filter-Tap Hole

JR currently uses 3-way mixers as an installation pathway where a customer wants filtered drinking water without adding a separate filter tap through the benchtop.

This can be particularly useful with engineered or natural stone benchtops, where JR does not drill a new separate filter-tap hole because drilling can create silica-dust and benchtop-damage risks.

The existing mixer opening still needs to suit the TRIPLA-T6 installation. Puretec specifies a 33mm tap hole, so the existing kitchen layout should be checked before installation.

FILTER OPTIONS

What Filtration Can Be Connected to a TRIPLA-T6?

The T6 is available as a tap by itself and is also used by Puretec in complete filtration packages.

Puretec Z1-T6

Puretec currently pairs the T6 with its Z1 under-sink mains-water system for dedicated filtered drinking water.

Compatible Under-Sink Filters

The tap can also form part of another compatible under-sink drinking-water setup where the filtration system, tubing and operating pressure are suitable.

Rainwater Treatment

Puretec also uses the T6 within compatible rainwater-treatment packages such as ESR2-T6, where the filtration and UV system provide the actual treatment.

Do not use the tap specification as the filter-system specification. A complete filter package can have a narrower allowable pressure or temperature range than the standalone mixer, so both products must be checked together.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec TRIPLA-T6 Pressure Requirements

Puretec's current standalone TRIPLA-T6 specification lists an operating pressure range of 50–500kPa.

Minimum 50kPa

This is Puretec's current minimum pressure specification for the standalone mixer tap.

Maximum 500kPa

The tap should not be operated above the current 500kPa maximum manufacturer specification.

Filter May Differ

The connected filter system can have its own minimum and maximum pressure requirements, which also need to be satisfied.

Example: Puretec's current Z1-T6 complete tap-and-filter package specifies a different minimum system pressure from the standalone tap because the filter system introduces its own operating requirements.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install a TRIPLA-T6?

Suitable 33mm tap opening or an existing installation that can appropriately accommodate the mixer.
Suitable hot and cold water connections beneath the kitchen sink.
Compatible filtered-water connection from the under-sink filtration system.
Water pressure within specification for both the tap and selected filtration system.
Enough under-sink space for filtration hardware, tubing and future cartridge servicing.
Suitable isolation and plumbing arrangement for the final installation design.

TAP-ONLY VS TAP & FILTER

Do You Already Have a Water Filter?

Tap Replacement Only

If a compatible under-sink filtration system is already installed and suitable, the TRIPLA-T6 may be used as the replacement mixer.

New Tap & Filter

If no drinking-water filter is installed, JR can assess a complete under-sink filtration and 3-way mixer setup.

Existing Filter Assessment

An older filter should be checked for condition, compatibility, operating pressure and connection requirements before being reused.

Buying a TRIPLA-T6 by itself does not create filtered water. A compatible filtration system must supply the dedicated filtered-water line.

WARRANTY

Puretec TRIPLA-T6 Manufacturer Warranty

Puretec currently describes the Tripla range as carrying a six-year tapware warranty, but that coverage is split between labour and parts.

1 Year Parts & Labour

Puretec's current specification provides one year of parts-and-labour coverage for Tripla tapware.

5 Additional Years Parts

The remaining five years of the advertised six-year tapware warranty are parts-only coverage, subject to Puretec's terms.

Filter Warranty Is Separate

If the tap is paired with a Puretec filtration system, that system and its replaceable cartridge have their own warranty and maintenance conditions.

Do not treat “6-year warranty” as six years of labour coverage. Puretec currently specifies one year parts and labour plus five years parts only for Tripla tapware.

JR's current live TRIPLA-T6 installation page also identifies the installed product as eligible for JR's Lifetime Warranty pathway. JR-specific coverage is separate from Puretec's manufacturer warranty and remains subject to JR's current terms.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Puretec TRIPLA-T6 FAQs

What is the Puretec TRIPLA-T6?

It is a 3-in-1 kitchen mixer that provides normal hot water, normal cold water and a separate filtered drinking-water pathway from one tap body.

What is the current model number?

Puretec currently lists the chrome model as TRIPLA-T6-LF.

Does the TRIPLA-T6 filter water by itself?

No. The tap provides the dedicated filtered-water pathway, but a compatible under-sink filtration system must actually treat the drinking water.

Does filtered water mix with normal mains water inside the tap?

No. Puretec states that the Tripla design uses separate internal pathways so filtered and unfiltered water do not mix inside the tap.

Can I still use normal cold water without using my filter?

Yes. Normal cold mixer water and dedicated filtered drinking water are separate functions, so ordinary sink use does not have to run through the drinking-water cartridge.

What size tap hole does the TRIPLA-T6 need?

Puretec specifies a 33mm diameter tap hole.

What connections does the T6 use?

Current Puretec specifications list ½-inch and ¼-inch braided connections.

What water pressure does the standalone tap require?

Puretec currently lists a 50–500kPa operating range for the standalone TRIPLA-T6 mixer.

Can the filter have a different pressure requirement?

Yes. The filtration system connected to the T6 can have its own minimum and maximum operating pressure, so both specifications need to be satisfied.

What is the T6 flow rate?

Puretec currently lists the mixer at 5 litres per minute with a WELS 5 Star rating.

What type of mixer cartridge does it use?

Puretec lists a 35mm ceramic mixer cartridge.

Can I use the T6 with a Puretec Z1 filter?

Yes. Puretec currently offers the Z1-T6 package, which combines the Tripla T6 mixer with its Z1 under-sink filtration system.

Can it be used with rainwater?

Yes in an appropriately designed treatment system. Puretec currently uses the T6 in its ESR2-T6 rainwater filtration and UV package.

Can the TRIPLA-T6 replace my existing kitchen mixer?

Often yes, provided the existing tap opening, water connections, pressure and under-sink layout suit the T6 and the required filtered-water line.

Can I install it without a filtration system?

The tap can be supplied separately, but the dedicated filtered outlet only provides filtered water when it is connected to a compatible filtration system.

Is the TRIPLA-T6 useful with a stone benchtop?

It can be particularly useful where the goal is to avoid installing a second filter tap. JR currently uses 3-way mixers as an option for stone-benchtop kitchens where a separate new filter-tap hole is not appropriate.

Does JR drill new holes in engineered or natural stone for a separate filter tap?

JR's current installation guidance states that it does not drill engineered or natural stone for a separate filter tap because of silica-dust and benchtop-damage risks. A suitable 3-way mixer can avoid needing that second outlet.

What warranty does the Puretec TRIPLA-T6 have?

Puretec currently lists six years total tapware coverage, structured as one year parts and labour plus five additional years parts only, subject to its warranty terms.

Does the filter have the same warranty as the tap?

Not necessarily. A connected Puretec filtration system has its own warranty terms, and replaceable cartridges are subject to separate maintenance and replacement requirements.

What filtration does the TRIPLA-T6 provide?

The tap itself provides no filtration specification. The micron rating, contaminant reduction and capacity depend entirely on the filter system connected beneath the sink.
