Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

Puretec TRIPLA-T5 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec TRIPLA-T5 across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting normal hot and cold water plus a separate filtered-water outlet from one mixer.

The TRIPLA-T5 is a chrome 3-in-1 kitchen mixer with independent internal waterways for normal mains water and the dedicated filtered-water supply.

It can suit kitchen renovations, replacement of an existing mixer, new under-sink filtration installations and properties where a separate drinking-water tap beside the main mixer is not wanted.

Puretec TRIPLA-T5 at a glance: current model TRIPLA-T5-LF, hot/cold/filtered 3-way mixer, independent filtered-water pathway, 5L/min WELS 5 Star rated flow, 33mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa tap pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and Puretec's current six-year tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The TRIPLA-T5 Is the Mixer — The Filter Provides the Treatment

The TRIPLA-T5 gives the kitchen a dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the tap itself does not filter the water.

Water treatment depends on the under-sink filtration system connected to the filtered inlet.

TRIPLA-T5 Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer operation plus a dedicated pathway for treated drinking water.

Under-Sink Filter

Determines the actual filtration performance, contaminant reduction, cartridge capacity and replacement schedule.

One Kitchen Fixture

Both normal mixer water and filtered drinking water are available through one tap body rather than two separate fixtures.

The tap and filter perform different jobs. Choose the filtration system according to the water treatment required and the TRIPLA-T5 according to the preferred kitchen layout and mixer design.

3-WAY MIXER DESIGN

How Does the Puretec TRIPLA-T5 Work?

Normal Hot Water

The property's normal hot-water service connects to the mixer for washing, rinsing and everyday kitchen use.

Normal Cold Water

Normal cold mains water remains available through the standard mixer function without unnecessarily passing through the drinking-water cartridge.

Filtered Water

A separate line from the compatible under-sink filtration system supplies the dedicated filtered-water pathway.

Puretec specifically states that filtered and unfiltered water do not mix inside the Tripla T5. Independent internal pathways maintain the dedicated drinking-water function.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

Hot, Cold & Filtered Water Without a Separate Filter Tap

Normal hot water remains available for everyday kitchen use.
Normal cold water remains separate from the drinking-water filter pathway.
Dedicated filtered drinking water comes from the connected under-sink filtration system.
One mixer body keeps the kitchen sink area simpler than a main mixer plus separate filter tap.
5L/min WELS 5 Star flow under Puretec's current specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under Puretec's current product specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the TRIPLA-T5 Right for Your Kitchen?

The TRIPLA-T5 can suit kitchens where filtered drinking water is wanted without adding a separate drinking-water fixture beside the kitchen mixer.

Kitchen Renovations

The T5 can form part of a renovation where a new mixer and under-sink filtration system are being selected together.

Existing Mixer Replacement

An existing mixer position can be assessed against the required 33mm tap opening and available plumbing beneath the sink.

Existing Filter Upgrade

A suitable existing under-sink filter may be able to supply the dedicated filtered-water line if its pressure, fittings and condition are compatible.

Under-sink space matters. The filter housing, tubing, valves and future cartridge-service access must fit beneath the sink as well as the mixer itself.

ONE TAP OPENING

A Cleaner Alternative to Adding a Separate Filter Tap

One of the main reasons to choose a 3-way mixer is that a separate drinking-water outlet is not normally required beside the main kitchen mixer.

This can simplify the visible kitchen layout and can be particularly useful where the customer wants filtered drinking water but would prefer to retain a single principal tap position.

The existing opening still needs to suit the new mixer. Puretec specifies a 33mm diameter tap hole for the TRIPLA-T5, so the existing sink or benchtop arrangement should be checked before installation.

FILTER OPTIONS

What Filtration Can Be Paired With the TRIPLA-T5?

Puretec sells the T5 as a standalone mixer and also uses it in complete drinking-water treatment packages.

Puretec Z1-T5

Puretec currently offers the T5 with its Z1 under-sink mains-water filtration system, giving normal hot and cold water plus separately filtered drinking water from the same mixer.

Compatible Under-Sink Filters

The T5 can form part of another compatible drinking-water setup where the filter system, tubing, fittings and operating pressure suit the mixer.

Puretec ESR2-T5

Puretec also uses the T5 with its ESR2 under-sink filtration and UV system for appropriately treated rainwater applications.

The filtration system can have different operating limits from the standalone mixer. Both the tap specification and the connected filter-system specification need to be satisfied.

MAINS OR TREATED RAINWATER

The Separate Water Pathway Can Serve Different Treatment Systems

The TRIPLA-T5's dedicated water pathway is not limited to one specific cartridge type.

Puretec currently uses the T5 in both its Z1-T5 mains-water filtration package and its ESR2-T5 treated-rainwater filtration and UV package.

Mains Water

A compatible point-of-use filter can treat the dedicated drinking-water supply before it reaches the T5.

Treated Rainwater

A properly designed rainwater filtration and disinfection system can use the separate T5 pathway where the complete treatment system is suitable.

Same Mixer Principle

In both cases the dedicated treated-water pathway remains separate from the normal hot and cold mixer waterways.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec TRIPLA-T5 Pressure Requirements

Puretec's current standalone TRIPLA-T5 specification lists an operating pressure range of 50–500kPa.

Minimum 50kPa

The standalone mixer specification lists 50kPa as the minimum operating pressure.

Maximum 500kPa

The current standalone mixer should not be operated above Puretec's listed 500kPa maximum.

Filter Requirements Also Apply

The attached filtration system may have a higher minimum pressure or another operating limit that also needs to be satisfied.

For example, Puretec's current Z1-T5 complete system lists a 200–500kPa operating range. That is why tap-only specifications should not automatically be applied to an entire tap-and-filter system.
