JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland areas for kitchens, office kitchenettes and similar point-of-use applications requiring near-boiling water directly at the sink.
The HOT 2.6 N Premium is a compact 2.6 litre open-vented under-sink water boiler. It is designed for one draw-off point and works with an approved Stiebel Eltron open-vented tap rather than being connected to a normal pressurised hot-water outlet.
Stiebel Eltron publishes water temperatures of up to approximately 95°C, electronic temperature control, automatic boiling-point detection, programmable operation, high-grade PU thermal insulation and a childproof push-and-turn tap mechanism.
JR's current live product is configured around the HOT 2.6 N with a 3-way mixer, combining the compact boiling-water appliance with a suitable kitchen-tap arrangement.

The compact point-of-use design can suit staff kitchens and similar spaces where frequent hot drinks are prepared from one sink location.

Is the Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium Right for My Kitchen?
A Good Choice If...
You want near-boiling water at one kitchen or kitchenette sink and have suitable under-cabinet space, plumbing and an appropriate electrical outlet.
Consider Another Option If...
You need conventional hot water for multiple fixtures, showers or bathrooms, or you need chilled, sparkling or larger-volume commercial boiling-water capability.
JR Should Check First If...
Your cupboard is tight, the existing tap hole is unsuitable, the sink has unusual plumbing, there is no suitable power outlet or the water hardness may require filtration.
What Is the HOT 2.6 N Premium?
The HOT 2.6 N Premium is not a conventional household hot-water system and it is not a pressurised mini storage heater. It is a dedicated open-vented boiling-water appliance for a single point of use.
Cold water enters through the approved tap arrangement and fills the 2.6L under-sink boiler. The electronically controlled heating element maintains the selected water temperature ready for use.
Stiebel Eltron's automatic boiling-point detection determines the local boiling point and limits the maximum selectable temperature to approximately 5K below that point. This accounts for changes in boiling temperature with altitude.
The appliance also incorporates an anti-drip function intended to prevent expansion water escaping from the tap while the stored water heats.
3-in-1 Tap Option
Stiebel Eltron's Design-Kollektion 3-in-1 tap is designed specifically to pair with the HOT 2.6 N Premium and provides three functions through one kitchen fixture:
Normal Cold Water
Cold mains water remains available through the kitchen mixer function.
Normal Hot Water
The standard hot-water supply can feed the normal mixer side of the tap where the property already has an appropriate hot-water service.
Near-Boiling Water
The HOT 2.6 N Premium supplies the dedicated high-temperature water path through the open-vented boiling-water function.

What Is Required to Install the HOT 2.6 N Premium?
Under-sink installation only in a location suitable for the 450 × 200 × 145mm appliance.
Vertical wall mounting using the appliance mounting bracket and a suitable supporting surface.
Position close to the draw-off point as required by Stiebel's installation instructions.
Free maintenance access so the appliance, strainer, plumbing and electrical connection remain serviceable.
Suitable approved Stiebel open-vented tap matched to the HOT 2.6 N Premium.
Unobstructed tap outlet because the outlet forms part of the appliance venting arrangement.
Suitable nearby electrical outlet for the appliance's plug connection and 650mm connecting cable.
Electrical provision suitable for the appliance, noting the manufacturer specifies 10A fuse protection.
Cold-water plumbing connection correctly arranged for the approved open-vented tap system.
Water hardness assessed where local or property water conditions may require an external filter.
Suitable tap hole and sink arrangement where the Design-Kollektion 3-in-1 mixer is being installed.
Installation protected from frost and completed in accordance with current plumbing and electrical requirements.
Water Quality & Filter Requirements
Water hardness matters with a high-temperature boiling-water appliance because scale can build up more readily where water is repeatedly heated to high temperatures.
Stiebel Eltron states that the HOT 2.6 N Premium must be operated with an external water filter where total water hardness is 1.5mmol/L or higher, also stated by the manufacturer as 8.5°dH / 11°e.
The manufacturer warns that operating the appliance without the required filter under harder-water conditions can affect warranty coverage and that damage caused by limescale or high mineral concentrations is not covered under the appliance guarantee.
Harder Water
Where total hardness reaches or exceeds 1.5mmol/L, an appropriate external water filter is required by Stiebel.
Low-Use Installations
Stiebel recommends approximately 2L minimum daily draw-off. If that amount is not used for an extended period, the manufacturer recommends drawing off the full 2.6L contents after approximately four days.
What's Included With HOT 2.6 N Premium Installation?
Standard Installation
The selected JR installation package covers the applicable standard labour and materials where cupboard space, plumbing, tap location and electrical provision meet the package conditions.
Setup & Commissioning
The system is mounted, connected, filled and commissioned, with normal appliance and tap operation checked before handover.
Possible Additional Work
New power provision, altered plumbing, tap-hole changes, cabinetry alterations, filtration or unusual access can change the final installation scope.
How Much Does Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium Installation Cost?
Use JR's live product and installation selector above for current supplied-and-installed pricing. This keeps the product price, selected tap configuration and installation package connected to JR's current Shopify pricing.
A straightforward installation with suitable existing plumbing, cabinet space, tap position and power will have a different scope from a kitchen requiring a new electrical outlet, plumbing relocation, additional filtration or bench and tap modifications.
Where the installation conditions do not match the standard online package, a written or onsite quote can be used to confirm the correct scope before installation.
Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium Installation Brisbane
JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium in eligible Brisbane service areas for suitable home kitchens, office kitchens and point-of-use boiling-water applications.
For Brisbane installations, the key checks are normally cupboard dimensions, the available tap position, cold-water plumbing, the normal kitchen hot-water arrangement where a 3-in-1 mixer is selected and access to suitable electrical power.
Because the HOT 2.6 is an open-vented appliance, replacing a conventional under-sink water heater or another boiling-water brand is not automatically a like-for-like plumbing connection. The existing tap and pressure arrangement needs to be checked first.
Stiebel Eltron HOT 2.6 N Premium Installation Gold Coast
JR Gas & Water also installs the HOT 2.6 N Premium across eligible Gold Coast service areas where the sink, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical setup suit the appliance.
Kitchen renovations and apartment installations can particularly benefit from checking dimensions before the job is booked. The boiler itself is slim, but usable cupboard space also needs to accommodate water connections, the approved tap hoses and future servicing access.
Where a Design-Kollektion 3-in-1 mixer is selected, the existing tap hole, mains hot and cold supply pressures and boiling-water connection should all be considered as part of the installation.
Can the HOT 2.6 N Premium Replace My Existing Setup?
Replacing a Kettle
A new HOT 2.6 installation can provide a permanent near-boiling-water solution where suitable cabinet space, plumbing, power and tap installation are available.
Replacing Another Boiling Unit
Potentially, but the existing appliance's pressure arrangement, tap, power, pipework and cabinet layout should be checked rather than assuming direct compatibility.
Replacing an Under-Sink Storage Heater
The HOT 2.6 serves a different purpose from conventional under-sink hot-water storage. It is an open-vented boiling-water appliance rather than a general mains-pressure hot-water supply.
Upgrading to a 3-in-1 Tap
The approved Stiebel 3-in-1 arrangement can consolidate normal hot, cold and near-boiling water at the kitchen sink where the plumbing and tap-hole configuration suit it.
HOT 2.6 N Premium vs a Standard Under-Sink Hot Water System
| Feature | HOT 2.6 N Premium | Conventional Under-Sink Hot Water |
|---|---|---|
| Main Purpose | Near-boiling water for drinks, food preparation and kitchen use | Conventional hot water for a sink or basin |
| Storage Volume | 2.6L | Typically larger depending on selected model |
| Maximum Temperature | Up to approximately 95°C | Generally designed for normal hot-water temperatures |
| Pressure Arrangement | Open vented / non-pressurised | Depends on the specific appliance |
| Tap Requirement | Approved compatible Stiebel open-vented tap | Depends on the specific under-sink system |
| Best Use | Kitchen boiling-water convenience | Remote sink, basin, kitchenette or point-of-use normal hot water |
Energy Use, Timer & Everyday Operation
The HOT 2.6 stores only 2.6 litres, helping keep the boiling-water appliance compact. Stiebel also uses PU foam insulation and programmable controls to reduce unnecessary standby operation.
The manufacturer publishes 0.2kWh standby energy consumption over 24 hours at a 65°C setting under its stated test condition. Actual household energy use depends on selected temperature, operating schedule and how much water is drawn.
The programmable controls can be useful where boiling water is regularly required during predictable periods, such as office hours or normal kitchen-use times.
Efficiency takeaway: the HOT 2.6 is designed around a small insulated storage volume and programmable operation rather than keeping a large cylinder of near-boiling water hot throughout the day.

Can JR install the HOT 2.6 in Brisbane and the Gold Coast?
JR Gas & Water supplies and installs suitable under-sink and boiling-water systems across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas. Final serviceability depends on the property and installation scope.
Why Choose JR Gas & Water for HOT 2.6 Installation?
JR Gas & Water supplies and installs under-sink and point-of-use hot-water systems across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas.
For the HOT 2.6 N Premium, correct installation depends on more than whether the boiler physically fits in the cupboard. The open-vented hydraulic arrangement, approved tap, electrical outlet, tap hole, mains hot and cold connections, water hardness and service access all need to work together.
JR can assess those installation conditions and match the live installation package to the property, whether the job is a new kitchen upgrade or replacement of an existing under-bench system.
