Where a customer has a stone benchtop, it cannot be drilled for the installation of a separate filter tap. Drilling into engineered or natural stone surfaces can release fine crystalline silica dust, which poses a significant health risk (silicosis) to installers and anyone nearby, and may also cause cracking or damage to the bench. In these cases, we can provide the option of a 3-way mixer tap that combines hot, cold, and filtered water in one unit, or, if preferred, the filter can be connected to the existing kitchen mixer to filter all cold water — however, this is not recommended as it will also filter dishwashing and cooking water, leading to faster filter clogging and more frequent replacements. A wider selection of suitable 3-way mixer taps can be viewed here: https://www.jrgasandwater.com.au/collections/3-way-kitchen-mixer-tap-hot-cold-filtered.

PREMIUM MATT BLACK 3-WAY MIXER

Puretec ELITE-20MB Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec Tripla ELITE-20MB across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas for kitchens wanting hot, cold and separately filtered water from one premium matt black mixer.

The ELITE-20MB is part of Puretec's Tripla Elite range and combines a 100% stainless steel mixer body with a matt black PVD outer coating. The large handle controls normal hot and cold water, while a smaller independent handle operates the dedicated filtered mains-water or treated-rainwater pathway.

Two dedicated outlets and separate internal tubes keep filtered and unfiltered water completely separate inside the tap.

Puretec ELITE-20MB at a glance: current model ELITE-20MB-LF, matt black 3-way mixer, 100% stainless steel construction, PVD-coated finish, separate filtered and unfiltered pathways, 8L/min WELS 3 Star flow, 35mm tap hole, ½" and ¼" braided connections, 50–500kPa standalone tap pressure range, 35mm ceramic cartridge and 15-year residential tapware warranty structure.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The ELITE-20MB Is the Mixer — The Filter Treats the Water

The ELITE-20MB provides a premium dedicated filtered-water pathway, but the mixer itself does not filter the water.

The under-sink filtration system connected to the dedicated line determines the actual water-treatment performance.

ELITE-20MB Mixer

Provides normal hot and cold mixer water plus a separate pathway for filtered or appropriately treated water.

Under-Sink Filter

Determines filtration method, micron rating, contaminant-reduction performance, capacity and cartridge replacement requirements.

One Premium Fixture

Allows dedicated filtered drinking water to be integrated into the primary kitchen mixer instead of adding a second visible filter tap.

The tap delivers the treated water; the filtration system underneath determines how that water is treated.

SEPARATE INTERNAL WATERWAYS

How Does the Puretec ELITE-20MB Work?

Main Mixer Handle

The larger control operates normal hot and cold mains water for standard kitchen washing, rinsing and food preparation.

Filtered-Water Handle

The smaller control operates the dedicated filtered mains-water or appropriately treated rainwater supply.

Two Dedicated Outlets

Puretec specifies two dedicated outlets and separate inner tubes so filtered and unfiltered water do not mix inside the mixer.

Normal sink use does not have to consume the drinking-water cartridge. Ordinary hot and cold water remain on their own internal pathway.

STAINLESS STEEL CONSTRUCTION

What Makes the Tripla Elite Range Different?

A major point of difference between the Tripla Elite range and Puretec's standard T-series mixers is the Elite construction and finish specification.

100% Stainless Steel

Puretec specifies full stainless steel construction for the Tripla Elite mixer range.

PVD Outer Coating

The matt black finish uses a Physical Vapour Deposition coating designed for durability and resistance to abrasion, scratching and corrosion.

Premium Matt Black Finish

The ELITE-20MB provides a dark contemporary finish for kitchens using black sinks, handles, appliances or other matching hardware.

Finish care still matters. PVD provides a durable surface treatment, but no decorative kitchen finish should be assumed to be immune to scratching, harsh chemicals or physical damage.

WHY USE A 3-WAY MIXER?

Hot, Cold & Filtered Water From One Kitchen Fixture

Normal hot water remains available through the main mixer control.
Normal cold water remains separate from the dedicated drinking-water filtration pathway.
Filtered drinking water is selected independently using the smaller control.
One main kitchen mixer can avoid the need for a second drinking-water tap.
8L/min WELS 3 Star flow under Puretec's current ELITE-20 specification.
35mm ceramic mixer cartridge under the current manufacturer specification.

KITCHEN SUITABILITY

Is the ELITE-20MB Right for Your Kitchen?

The ELITE-20MB can suit kitchens where the customer wants integrated filtered drinking water, matt black tapware and a full stainless steel 3-way mixer.

Premium Renovations

The matt black finish can be coordinated with sinks, cabinet handles, appliances and other dark kitchen hardware.

Existing Mixer Replacement

The current mixer position can be assessed against Puretec's 35mm tap-hole requirement and the plumbing beneath the sink.

New Filtration Setup

The mixer can be installed alongside a compatible under-sink system such as Puretec's Z1 filtration platform.

Under-sink space remains important. Filter housings, valves, tubing and future cartridge servicing all need to fit beneath the sink.

STONE BENCHTOPS

A 3-Way Mixer Can Avoid a Separate Filter-Tap Hole

JR's current installation guidance does not allow drilling a new separate filter-tap hole into engineered or natural stone because of silica-dust and benchtop-damage risks.

Where the existing primary mixer opening is suitable, a 3-way mixer such as the ELITE-20MB can provide normal hot, normal cold and dedicated filtered water from that single fixture position.

The existing mixer opening still needs to suit the Elite 20. Puretec specifies a 35mm diameter tap hole for the ELITE-20MB.

FLOW & WELS RATING

ELITE-20MB Water Efficiency

Puretec currently specifies an 8 litre per minute flow rate for the Tripla Elite 20 series.

Current rating: ELITE-20MB-LF — 8L/min, WELS 3 Star.

This differs from several standard Tripla T-series models, so the Elite 20's own specification should be used rather than carrying across a flow or star rating from another Puretec mixer.

PURETEC Z1 COMPATIBILITY

ELITE-20MB With Puretec Z1 Filtration

Puretec currently offers the Z1-E20-MB-LF complete package, combining the matt black Elite 20 mixer with its Z1 Ultra Z under-sink mains-water filtration system.

0.1 Micron Rating

Puretec currently lists a nominal 0.1 micron filtration rating for the Z1 system used in the complete Elite 20 package.

30,000L Capacity

The current Z1-E20-MB specification lists a filtration capacity of up to 30,000 litres under the manufacturer's stated conditions.

Dedicated Filtered Pathway

The treated mains water enters the Elite 20's dedicated filtered line while normal hot and cold kitchen water remain separate.

The 0.1 micron rating and 30,000L capacity belong to the Z1 filtration system, not the ELITE-20MB mixer itself.

WATER PRESSURE

Puretec ELITE-20MB Pressure Requirements

Puretec's current standalone ELITE-20MB specification lists a working range of 50–500kPa.

Minimum 50kPa

The standalone mixer specification lists 50kPa as its minimum working pressure.

Maximum 500kPa

Puretec specifies a maximum working pressure of 500kPa for the tap.

Equal Pressure Required

Puretec specifically states that the ELITE-20MB is not suitable for unequal-pressure installations.

Pressure above the recommended working limit requires pressure control. Puretec states that a pressure limiting valve must be installed where pressure exceeds the specified limit or warranty coverage may be affected.

TAP VS COMPLETE FILTER PACKAGE

ELITE-20MB & Z1-E20-MB Pressure Specifications

The standalone mixer and the complete filtration package publish different operating ranges.

Standalone ELITE-20MB

Puretec currently lists 50–500kPa for the mixer itself.

Complete Z1-E20-MB

Puretec currently lists 200–520kPa for the complete Z1-E20-MB filter package.

Installed System

The completed installation needs to satisfy the applicable requirements of both the mixer and the filtration system.

For practical system selection, the tap's 500kPa maximum still needs to be respected. The individual component specifications should not be treated as interchangeable.
