ENCLOSED WHOLE-HOME FILTRATION + UV

WFW Twin 20" Enclosed + UV Whole Home Water Filter System

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the WFW Twin 20" Enclosed + UV Whole Home Water Filter System across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas.

The system combines two large-format 20" Big Blue filtration stages with a protective stainless-steel enclosure and a powered ultraviolet treatment stage. It can suit properties wanting whole-home sediment and carbon treatment together with an additional microbiological treatment barrier.

Unlike the WFW Triple 20 AntiScale products, this Twin 20 configuration does not include a dedicated antiscale or conventional water-softening stage. Its core treatment pathway is filtration plus UV.

Quick answer: the current JR product combines twin 20" whole-home filtration, stainless enclosure protection and UV treatment. JR currently lists it as a Budget-category system with a Limited 2 Year product warranty, no NSF/ANSI certification for the complete product and separate JR Lifetime Warranty eligibility. The live installation selector provides six package pathways based on replacement versus new install, exposed pipework, mounting style and power requirements.

HOW IT WORKS

Sediment, Carbon & UV Perform Different Jobs

The Twin 20 Enclosed + UV uses separate treatment stages rather than relying on one cartridge to address every water-quality concern.

Sediment Filtration

The first treatment stage helps capture suspended material such as dirt, sand, silt, rust and other visible particles before they move further through the system.

Carbon Filtration

The carbon stage targets chlorine and associated taste and odour concerns, with exact chemical-reduction performance determined by the carbon cartridge supplied.

UV Treatment

The powered ultraviolet stage provides additional microbiological treatment after pre-filtration where the UV equipment and incoming-water conditions are suitable.

Each stage has limits. Carbon does not replace microbiological treatment, UV does not remove sediment or dissolved chemicals, and neither stage should be described as a conventional hardness-removal water softener.

TWIN 20" FILTRATION

Two Large-Format Whole-Home Filter Housings

Water Filter World's current enclosed Twin platform uses two 20" × 4.5" Big Blue housings designed for whole-property filtration.

Stage 1 — Sediment

The first housing is used for sediment pre-filtration so suspended solids are captured before reaching the following treatment stages.

Stage 2 — Carbon

The second housing is used for carbon filtration. Water Filter World currently offers different carbon media choices across its Twin 20 range, so the exact supplied cartridge governs its treatment claims.

Large-Format Housings

The 20" × 4.5" format provides greater media capacity than compact under-sink cartridges and is intended for whole-home flow applications.

Do not assume one fixed micron rating for every WFW Twin 20 system. Water Filter World currently offers different carbon configurations across the Twin platform. The actual cartridge supplied with the current JR product should govern filtration performance.

SEDIMENT STAGE

Why Pre-Filtration Matters Before UV

Sediment filtration helps protect both the carbon stage and the UV equipment downstream.

Dirt and sand are among the particulate concerns currently listed by JR.
Silt, rust and sediment can be captured according to the selected sediment cartridge.
Downstream cartridges benefit from reduced particulate loading.
UV treatment benefits from appropriately pre-filtered water because excessive turbidity can interfere with UV transmission.

CARBON FILTRATION

Chlorine, Taste, Odour & Selected Organic Contaminants

JR's current product data lists chlorine and associated taste and odour concerns among the treatment categories for this Twin 20 system.

The current JR data also references partial chloramine reduction and selected organic contaminant groups including VOCs, pesticides and herbicides.

Chlorine

Carbon treatment is commonly used to reduce chlorine in treated mains water and improve taste and odour.

Organic Chemicals

JR currently lists VOCs, pesticides and herbicides among the product's treatment categories.

Cartridge-Specific Performance

Actual reduction depends on the carbon media supplied, contaminant concentration, water flow, cartridge age and manufacturer-tested capability.

Reduction does not mean universal removal. Treatment claims should always be interpreted according to the exact cartridge installed and its current manufacturer specification.

ULTRAVIOLET TREATMENT

What Does the UV Stage Add?

The UV component provides a separate microbiological treatment process after the filtration stages.

Water Filter World's current UV equipment uses germicidal ultraviolet light inside a stainless-steel pressure chamber. The process does not rely on chemical dosing at the UV unit.

Microbiological Treatment

UV is used to treat susceptible microorganisms passing through the chamber where the specified UV dose and water conditions are achieved.

No Chemical Dosing

The UV chamber uses ultraviolet energy rather than adding chlorine or another disinfecting chemical at the treatment point.

Powered Treatment

The UV lamp must be powered and operating correctly for ultraviolet treatment to occur.

UV should not be described as guaranteeing that any water source is safe to drink. Performance depends on UV dose, flow, lamp output, water clarity and the quality of the water entering the chamber.

POWER REQUIREMENT

The Twin 20 Enclosed + UV Requires Electricity

The filtration housings themselves do not require electricity, but the complete product includes a powered UV stage.

Filter Housings

The sediment and carbon cartridges operate through normal water pressure and do not need electrical power.

UV Lamp

The UV treatment chamber requires a suitable electrical supply for its lamp and associated lamp monitoring equipment.

Platinum Installation Pathway

JR's current live selector provides a Platinum package for applicable installations requiring electrical provision such as a new double power point.

UV MAINTENANCE

UV Lamps Require Ongoing Replacement

UV treatment equipment is not maintenance-free. Ultraviolet output reduces with lamp operating time even if the lamp still appears illuminated.

Water Filter World's current Basic UV specification publishes a lamp-life benchmark of approximately 9,000 operating hours or one year. The exact UV model supplied with this system should govern the actual replacement lamp and service schedule.

UV Lamp

The lamp is a consumable service component and should be replaced according to the installed UV model's requirements.

Quartz Sleeve

The quartz sleeve and chamber need to remain suitably clean so ultraviolet energy can effectively reach the water.

Lamp Monitoring

Water Filter World's published UV equipment includes lamp-failure indication, but the exact monitoring arrangement depends on the UV model supplied.

STAINLESS ENCLOSURE

Protective Cover & Stand for Outdoor Installation

Water Filter World's current enclosed Twin 20 platform includes a stainless-steel cover and stand designed to protect the filtration housings in suitable outdoor installations.

The manufacturer also specifies dual pressure gauges, brass ports and a heavy-duty mounting bracket on its current enclosed Twin platform.

Stainless Cover

Provides physical protection and a neater finished appearance around the twin Big Blue filtration housings.

Dual Pressure Gauges

The current WFW enclosed Twin platform includes two gauges that can assist with observing system pressure and filter loading.

Brass Ports

Water Filter World's current enclosed Twin platform specifies solid brass connection ports.

The protective cover does not remove the need for service access. The installed location must still allow filter cartridge changes, UV maintenance, valve access and plumbing service work.

PUBLISHED FILTER-ENCLOSURE SIZE

WFW Twin 20 Enclosed Platform Dimensions

Water Filter World currently publishes the following dimensions for its enclosed Twin 20 Big Blue filtration platform:

700mm High

Current manufacturer-published height for the enclosed Twin 20 filter assembly.

400mm Wide

Current manufacturer-published width of the stainless-covered Twin filtration platform.

200mm Deep

Current manufacturer-published enclosure depth.

Installation note: 700 × 400 × 200mm describes Water Filter World's enclosed Twin filtration platform. The complete Twin 20 + UV installation requires additional allowance for the UV chamber, valves, pipework, electrical equipment and future service access.

WATERMARK & CERTIFICATION

WaterMark Is Not the Same as NSF/ANSI Certification

Water Filter World's current enclosed Twin filtration platform is marketed as Australian WaterMark approved.

Separately, JR currently lists the complete Twin 20 Enclosed + UV product as not NSF/ANSI certified.

WaterMark

Water Filter World currently states WaterMark approval for its enclosed Twin Big Blue filtration platform.

NSF/ANSI

JR currently lists the complete Twin 20 Enclosed + UV product as “No” for NSF/ANSI certification.

Different Purposes

WaterMark relates to Australian plumbing-product requirements, while NSF/ANSI certification is a separate product-performance and material verification framework.

Certification claims should be kept specific. Do not describe the complete combined product as NSF/ANSI certified when JR's current data explicitly says it is not.

NO ANTISCALE STAGE

Does the Twin 20 Enclosed + UV Control Hard-Water Scale?

This specific WFW Twin 20 Enclosed + UV product should not be treated as an antiscale or conventional water-softening system.

Its primary functions are sediment filtration, carbon treatment and UV treatment.

Sediment Protection

Reducing suspended particles can help prevent dirt and sediment from travelling through downstream plumbing and appliances.

Not Hardness Removal

The Twin 20 system does not use a regenerating ion-exchange resin bed to remove calcium and magnesium hardness.

Separate WFW AntiScale Options

JR currently lists dedicated WFW Triple 20 antiscale systems where scale control is part of the required treatment objective.

Do not claim that this Twin system prevents limescale unless a separate scale-treatment component is actually included in the installation.

WHAT JR CURRENTLY LISTS

Current Contaminant Categories

JR's current Twin 20 Enclosed + UV product data lists multiple filtration and microbiological treatment categories.

Particles

Dirt, sand, silt, rust, sediment and microplastics are currently included in JR's product data.

Chemical Categories

Chlorine, partial chloramine reduction, VOCs, pesticides and herbicides are currently listed among the treatment categories.

Microbiological Categories

The UV-equipped product data lists microorganisms and cyst categories including bacteria, viruses, Giardia, Cryptosporidium and coliform-related concerns.

These are treatment categories rather than a universal guarantee. JR's current product page expressly notes that reduction does not necessarily mean 100% removal. Exact performance depends on the selected cartridges and UV specification.

MAINS WATER

Using the Twin 20 Enclosed + UV on Treated Mains Water

For treated mains-water properties, the Twin 20 configuration can provide whole-home sediment and carbon filtration while UV adds an additional microbiological treatment stage.

Whether UV is necessary on a treated municipal supply depends on the property, treatment objective and what the homeowner wants from the system.

More treatment is not automatically better value. Where the primary goals are sediment, chlorine, taste and odour improvement, a Twin 20 system without UV may be the simpler direction.

RAINWATER & TANK WATER

Can the Twin 20 Enclosed + UV Be Used for Rainwater?

A sediment/carbon/UV treatment train can form part of a rainwater-treatment setup, and JR currently includes this WFW system within its UV filtration range.

However, tank water should be assessed as a complete source-water treatment problem. Tank condition, roof catchment, sediment load, colour, organic material, turbidity and microbiological risk all affect what treatment is appropriate.

Do not assume two filter cartridges plus UV will solve every tank-water problem. Difficult source water may require additional sediment control, pre-treatment or a different UV system matched to the required flow and water quality.

BORE & UNTREATED SOURCES

What About Bore, Dam or Other Raw Water?

Raw-water sources can contain treatment challenges that a standard sediment/carbon/UV arrangement is not designed to solve by itself.

Iron and manganese can require dedicated oxidation or filtration treatment.
Heavy sediment may require additional pre-filtration or larger sediment-management equipment.
Hardness and salinity require separate assessment because carbon and UV do not remove them.
Microbiological risk requires correct pre-treatment and a UV system sized for the actual flow and water quality.
Use a water-source assessment for non-mains supplies. Product selection should follow the actual water-quality problem rather than simply adding more filtration stages.

WHOLE-HOME APPLICATION

What Water Does the System Treat?

As a point-of-entry installation, the system treats water at the incoming supply before it reaches downstream fixtures served by that pipework.

Kitchen & Drinking

Whole-home filtration means the kitchen receives water that has passed through the central treatment system.

Bathrooms & Laundry

Downstream showers, basins and laundry fixtures can receive the same centrally treated supply.

Hot Water System

Where installed upstream of the hot-water service, filtered water can also enter the water heater and downstream hot-water plumbing.

SYSTEM SUITABILITY

Is the WFW Twin 20 Enclosed + UV Right for Your Home?

Suitable When

You want whole-home sediment and carbon filtration, protective enclosure presentation and an additional powered UV stage.

Consider Twin Without UV When

Your main goals are treated-mains sediment, chlorine, taste and odour improvement and an additional microbiological stage is not required.

Consider Another System When

You require antiscale treatment, true water softening, reverse osmosis, iron/manganese treatment or a higher-verification NSF/ANSI-certified system.
