Solar Hot Water System Removal

Professional removal and disposal of an existing roof-mounted solar hot water system. Select the option that matches the building height, equipment location and whether the storage tank also requires removal.

This service does not apply when an existing solar hot water system is being replaced with another solar hot water system. Solar-for-solar replacement requires different installation and removal arrangements and must be quoted as part of the new solar system installation.

Removal Options

Lowset – Panels Only, Under 2.4 m

• Removal and disposal of the roof-mounted solar panels only

• Applicable where the panels are less than 2.4 m above ground level

• Associated services capped above the roofline

• Does not include storage tank removal

• Crane hire is not included

Lowset – Panels and Tank, Under 2.4 m

• Removal and disposal of the roof-mounted solar panels and associated storage tank

• Applicable where the panels are less than 2.4 m above ground level

• Associated services capped above the roofline

• Crane access may be required depending on the tank’s weight, position and site access

Highset or Two-Storey – Panels and/or Tank More Than 1 m From the Roof Edge

• Removal and disposal of the selected solar panels and/or storage tank

• Applicable where the equipment and required work area are more than 1 m from any unprotected roof edge

• Associated services capped above the roofline

• Includes standard working-at-heights safety equipment

• Crane access may be required depending on the equipment and site conditions

Highset or Two-Storey – Panels and/or Tank Within 1 m of the Roof Edge

• Removal and disposal of the selected solar panels and/or storage tank

• Applicable where any equipment or required work area is within 1 m of an unprotected roof edge

• Associated services capped above the roofline

• Includes compliant edge protection and working-at-heights safety equipment

• Crane access may also be required depending on the equipment and site conditions

Roof Tiles

Where the customer has suitable spare matching roof tiles available onsite, we can install them in place of tiles affected by the solar removal.

This does not include supplying tiles, sourcing matching tiles, roof restoration, structural repairs or guaranteeing an exact colour match. Additional roof repairs or materials will be quoted separately where required.

Important Information

• Only the Lowset – Panels Only, Under 2.4 m option excludes crane hire.

• Crane hire is not included in the listed price unless expressly stated in the selected option or written quote.

• Disposal of the removed solar equipment is included.

• Services are capped above the roofline only. Removal or alteration of redundant pipework, cabling or services within the roof cavity, walls or building is not included.

• Pricing assumes safe, clear and reasonable access.

• Additional charges may apply for restricted access, steep or fragile roofing, asbestos, excessive panel quantities, unusually heavy equipment or unforeseen site conditions.

• Plumbing or electrical alterations beyond safely disconnecting and capping the redundant services are not included.

• If the option selected does not match the actual site conditions, any required additional labour, safety equipment, access equipment or crane hire will be quoted before work proceeds.
