PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Who Is the Rinnai Deluxe Bathroom Controller Best For?

Bathroom Temperature Control

Ideal for compatible Rinnai Infinity households wanting direct control of the hot water temperature from the bathroom.

Bath-Fill Convenience

Useful for households wanting to preset a bath-fill water volume and temperature rather than monitoring the fill manually from start to finish.

Shower Water Management

The Shower Saver function allows a selected water volume to be programmed, helping users manage the amount of hot water used during a shower.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Rinnai Deluxe Bathroom Controller Right for My System?

A Good Choice If...

You have a compatible Rinnai Infinity or Infinity B system and want bathroom temperature control plus Rinnai's Shower Saver and Bath Fill functionality.

Consider a Simpler Controller If...

You only need basic temperature selection and room-priority transfer. A Rinnai Universal Controller may provide the core temperature-control functions without the Deluxe Bathroom features.

JR Should Check First If...

You have an older or superseded Rinnai system, already have several controllers installed, are unsure of the existing controller combination or need new controller cabling installed.

Compatibility must be checked against the actual water heater. Rinnai notes that current product information can differ from superseded systems, so older continuous-flow units should be identified before assuming BC-145V compatibility.

HOW IT WORKS

How Does the Rinnai Deluxe Bathroom Controller Work?

The BC-145V communicates with a compatible Rinnai continuous-flow water heater through the controller wiring. Once the bathroom controller has priority, the required hot water temperature or Shower Saver / Bath Fill settings can be selected from the controller.

Select the Temperature

Choose the desired hot water temperature from the bathroom controller and the compatible Rinnai system regulates its operation around the selected setting.

Choose a Water Volume

For Shower Saver or Bath Fill operation, a desired water volume can be programmed before the hot water is run.

Monitor the Remaining Volume

During Shower Saver or Bath Fill operation, the controller displays the programmed volume and counts down the remaining amount as water is delivered.

Bath filling still needs normal household supervision. The controller manages the programmed Rinnai function, but the bath and outlet should still be used in accordance with Rinnai's operating instructions.

VERIFIED FEATURES

Key Features of the Rinnai BC-145V Deluxe Bathroom Controller

Precise Temperature Control

Select the required hot water temperature from the bathroom on a compatible Rinnai Infinity or Infinity B installation.

Automatic Bath Fill

Preset a desired water temperature and volume for filling a bath using the controller's Shower Saver / Bath Fill function.

Shower Saver

Preset a desired water volume for a shower and use the controller's remaining-volume display to help manage water use.

Child Lock

Rinnai lists a child-lock safety function as part of the Deluxe Bathroom Controller's current feature set.

Voice Prompts

Voice prompts and audible tones provide feedback during controller operation, with voice and sound settings adjustable from the controller.

Digital Clock & Diagnostics

The Deluxe controller includes digital clock functionality and can provide diagnostic information if the compatible hot water system detects an issue.

SHOWER SAVER & BATH FILL

How Does Rinnai Shower Saver & Bath Fill Work?

The Shower Saver / Bath Fill function allows both a hot water temperature and a water volume to be selected before use.

Preset Temperature

Select the required delivery temperature on the Deluxe Bathroom Controller before starting the Shower Saver or Bath Fill function.

Preset Water Volume

Rinnai's current controller manual allows the programmed volume to be adjusted from 30 litres to 400 litres.

Remaining Volume Display

Once the function is operating, the controller displays the remaining programmed volume as water is used.

Factory starting values: Rinnai's current BC-145V operating instructions state that the default Shower Saver / Bath Fill setting starts at 40°C and 100 litres. Those settings can then be adjusted by the user within the controller's permitted range.

CONTROLLER COMPARISON

Deluxe Bathroom vs Kitchen vs Universal Controller

Deluxe Bathroom BC-145V	Precise temperature control plus Shower Saver, automatic Bath Fill, child lock, voice prompts, digital clock and bathroom-focused functions.
Deluxe Kitchen MC-145V	Designed primarily for precise kitchen temperature control and room-priority transfer without the Bathroom controller's Shower Saver / Bath Fill functions.
Universal Controller	Provides straightforward precise temperature control and room-priority transfer for compatible Rinnai systems.

The Deluxe Bathroom Controller is the feature-rich option. If you specifically want Bath Fill and Shower Saver functionality, the BC-145V is the current Rinnai controller designed to provide those functions on compatible systems.
