PURETEC RAINWATER & UV FILTRATION INSTALLATION

Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland areas for homes wanting high-flow whole-house rainwater filtration, ultraviolet treatment and a protected aluminium cabinet.

The current HYBRID-E7AMC-LF combines two 20-inch cartridge stages with Puretec's Radfire™ ultraviolet treatment system. It is designed primarily for whole-house rainwater treatment and is positioned by Puretec for larger homes and properties with two or more bathrooms.

The first stage uses a 5-micron pleated sediment cartridge, followed by a 10-micron dual-purpose cartridge for sediment, taste and odour reduction. Water then passes through the ultraviolet chamber as the final microbiological-treatment stage.

The AMC version adds a durable aluminium enclosure around the filtration system, enclosed pipework and integrated ToolNest storage, giving the installation a cleaner external appearance while helping protect the equipment from normal outdoor exposure.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Right for My Home?

A Good Choice If...

You use rainwater throughout the home, want UV treatment, need strong whole-house flow and prefer the additional protection and appearance of Puretec's aluminium AMC enclosure.

Consider Another Option If...

Your rainwater is only used outdoors, you do not require microbiological treatment, a smaller Hybrid model adequately meets household flow or you need the extra fine filtration and mains-backup capability associated with the E13 range.

JR Should Check First If...

Your rainwater contains high sediment, iron, manganese or hardness, pump output is uncertain, pressure is high, the site is heavily exposed to salt or chemicals, or the water source is bore, river or dam water.

What Does the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Filter?

Stage 1

5 Micron Sediment

PL05MP2 is a 20-inch MaxiPlus™ pleated sediment cartridge designed to reduce cloudiness and suspended particles around five microns nominal and larger.

Stage 2

10 Micron Dual Purpose

DP10MP2 is a 20-inch dual-purpose cartridge designed to reduce sediment together with unwanted taste and odour.

Final Stage

Radfire™ UV

Filtered water passes through the ultraviolet chamber as the final treatment stage. Puretec states the Hybrid E system can provide up to 99.99% bacteria reduction under specified operating conditions.

How Does the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Work?

Water from the rainwater supply first passes through the 5-micron pleated sediment cartridge. This helps remove larger suspended material that would otherwise increase loading on the second cartridge and reduce water clarity.

The water then passes through the DP10MP2 dual-purpose cartridge, which provides additional sediment treatment together with taste and odour reduction.

After cartridge filtration, the water enters the Radfire ultraviolet chamber. The UV stage exposes the flowing water to ultraviolet light as the final microbiological-treatment step before the treated water is distributed through the property.

Treatment pathway: rainwater tank and pump → 5-micron PL05MP2 sediment filtration → 10-micron DP10MP2 dual-purpose filtration → Radfire UV treatment → treated water supplied throughout the home.

Understanding HYBRID-E7AMC Flow Rate & UV Dose

Puretec publishes a 130 L/min maximum system flow for the E7AMC. The ultraviolet chamber also has separate flow figures corresponding to different published UV doses.

Published Rating Flow What It Means
Maximum System Flow 130 L/min Maximum system rating; actual flow depends on pressure, cartridge condition, pump performance and water quality.
UV Flow @ 16 mJ/cm² 130 L/min Published UV chamber flow at the stated ultraviolet dose.
UV Flow @ 30 mJ/cm² 70 L/min Reduced flow provides greater ultraviolet exposure.
UV Flow @ 40 mJ/cm² 54 L/min Published flow corresponding to the higher stated UV dose.

Household design flow should therefore consider the required treatment objective as well as the headline 130 L/min system rating.

WATER QUALITY REQUIREMENTS

Why Water Quality Matters Before UV Treatment

Ultraviolet treatment depends on UV light being able to pass through the water. Puretec therefore publishes water-quality limits that should be checked where rainwater is heavily contaminated, cloudy or affected by unusual mineral conditions.

Water Characteristic Puretec Published Requirement
Hydrogen Sulfide Less than 0.05 mg/L
Suspended Solids Less than 10 mg/L
Manganese Less than 0.05 mg/L
Hardness Less than 110 mg/L
Iron Less than 0.3 mg/L
pH 5–9

Where incoming water exceeds these conditions, Puretec advises additional pre-treatment because poor water quality can reduce ultraviolet effectiveness and increase build-up on the quartz sleeve.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC?

Structurally suitable wall mounting using appropriate fixings and adequate support for the filter and connected pipework.

Approximately 700mm clearance above the system for UV lamp and quartz-sleeve removal.

At least 120mm below the housings so the 20-inch bowls and cartridges can be removed for servicing.

Suitable drainage and leak consideration where water released during maintenance or an unexpected leak cannot damage the property.

Cold-water installation only within Puretec's published water-temperature limits.

Adequate rainwater-pump flow and pressure for the expected household demand.

240V / 50Hz power supply suitable for the ultraviolet controller.

Surge protection. Puretec supplies a surge protector and states that surge protection is required; the supplied device itself must be protected from water and moisture.

Approved pressure limiting where line pressure exceeds 500 kPa under the current installation guide.

Approved dual-check backflow prevention for applicable point-of-entry installations.

Supported 25mm pipework so heavy inlet or outlet pipework does not place strain on the filter assembly.

Protection from excessive salt, aggressive chemicals and freezing in accordance with Puretec's installation requirements.

Post-UV plumbing requirement: Puretec specifies metal pipe and/or fittings for at least one metre after the UV outlet and warns against connecting plastic pipe directly to the ultraviolet steriliser.

Rainwater Pump & Supply Compatibility

The HYBRID-E7AMC treats the water supplied to it; it does not replace the rainwater tank, pump or any separate rain-to-mains switching equipment at the property.

A high system-flow rating is only useful if the upstream pump can deliver sufficient flow and pressure. Homes with multiple bathrooms, larger showers or several simultaneous outlets should therefore have the existing rainwater pump considered as part of the installation.

Rainwater Pump

JR should confirm the pump can provide appropriate pressure and flow through the cartridges while remaining within Puretec's operating limits.

Alternative Water Sources

Puretec states the Hybrid E is primarily designed for rainwater. Bore, dam or river water can require water testing and additional pre-treatment before the E7AMC is selected.

What's Included With Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Installation?

Standard Installation

The selected JR installation package covers the applicable standard labour and materials required to mount and connect the E7AMC where the wall, pipework, pressure, power and access satisfy the package conditions.

Commissioning & Setup

The filtration system is connected and flushed, the UV lamp and electronic controller are commissioned and the installation is checked for normal flow and visible leaks.

Possible Additional Work

Pressure limiting, backflow protection, pump upgrades, additional valves, electrical alterations, extra pipework, pre-treatment or structural mounting work may sit outside a standard package.

How Much Does Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Installation Cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing should remain in the live product and installation area above. This keeps current product pricing, installation packages, availability and booking options tied to JR's live Shopify system rather than hard-coding a changing price into the long-form content.

Final installation cost depends on the existing rainwater pump, supply pressure, pipe size, wall construction, power access, backflow protection, filtration position and whether extra water treatment or plumbing alterations are required.

A property with suitable 25mm plumbing, compliant pressure, an appropriate pump and accessible power will generally involve less additional work than a site needing pressure correction, pump changes, extensive pipework or extra pre-treatment.

BRISBANE INSTALLATION

Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC in Brisbane for suitable homes using rainwater internally and wanting high-flow filtration with ultraviolet treatment.

Brisbane rainwater systems vary considerably. Some tanks supply the entire home, while others feed only selected bathrooms, toilets or laundries. Pump capacity, existing pipe size, tank condition and household demand should therefore be checked before the filter is selected.

The E7AMC also needs significant vertical service space despite its relatively shallow 241mm cabinet depth. Side areas already occupied by tanks, pumps, fences or air-conditioning equipment should be assessed so annual UV servicing and cartridge replacement remain practical.

JR services eligible Brisbane properties together with Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton Bay and surrounding South East Queensland areas.

GOLD COAST INSTALLATION

Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also installs the Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC on the Gold Coast for eligible homes wanting an enclosed high-flow rainwater filtration and UV system.

The aluminium AMC cabinet adds useful protection, but Puretec still requires the system to be protected from harsh environments where excessive salt or aggressive chemical exposure can occur. Coastal positioning should therefore be considered carefully rather than assuming the cabinet makes every external wall equally suitable.

Gold Coast properties using tank water for several bathrooms can also place significant demand on the rainwater pump. JR can assess the pump and filtration system together so the final installation is designed around real household flow rather than only the filter's maximum rating.

Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC vs HYBRID-E13AMC

The E7AMC and E13AMC share Puretec's enclosed AMC format and Radfire UV platform, but the cartridge configuration and intended applications are different.

Main Selection Difference Higher published maximum system flow with a simpler dual-stage cartridge configuration. Additional carbon and 1-micron filtration, particularly relevant to higher sediment loads and rain-to-mains applications.

The E13AMC is not automatically required simply because it has an extra cartridge. The better system depends on the water source, contaminant load, desired treatment, household flow and whether mains-water backup is involved.

Puretec HYBRID-E7AMC Maintenance

Whole-house UV treatment requires ongoing servicing. The cartridges, ultraviolet lamp, quartz sleeve and seals all affect performance over time.

Cartridges: 6–12 Months

Puretec recommends cartridge replacement every 6–12 months depending on water quality and usage. Heavy sediment loads or declining household flow can require earlier replacement.

UV Lamp: Every 12 Months

The UV controller uses a 365-day lamp-life timer. Puretec requires annual UV-lamp replacement to maintain treatment performance.

Quartz Sleeve: Inspect Regularly

Puretec recommends checking the quartz sleeve approximately every three months depending on water quality and cleaning or replacing it where deposits or damage are present.

Current service components: the E7AMC uses PL05MP2 and DP10MP2 cartridges plus the RL7 UV lamp. Puretec's 2026 maintenance guide currently lists the E7/E7AMC complete maintenance-kit code as HR-E7I2.
