When the complete mixer body needs replacing, access is required to the plumbing behind the finished wall. The existing mixer is disconnected, the new mixer is fitted and the hot, cold and shower outlet pipework is connected to the replacement body.
This is substantially more involved than replacing a basin or kitchen mixer because the working components are concealed behind the wall surface.
Concealed Bath Mixer Replacement
The same type of concealed mixer can also be used to control water to a bath outlet. The mixer receives hot and cold water and sends the mixed water to the bath spout.
