ENVIROSUN CONTINUOUS FLOW GAS HOT WATER

Envirosun CF 26L Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Envirosun CF Endless Series 26L across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland areas for homes wanting compact, on-demand gas hot water without a storage cylinder.

The current Envirosun 26L models are ES26CF-2-NG for natural gas and ES26CF-2-LPG for propane LPG. Envirosun publishes a 6.2-star gas energy rating, 47kW heat output and a water-heating capacity of 26 litres per minute at a 25°C temperature rise.

Unlike a gas storage water heater, the CF 26 does not maintain a tank of heated water. The burner starts when sufficient hot-water flow is detected, heats the water as it passes through the appliance and stops when demand finishes.

Correct sizing and installation remain important. Gas supply capacity, incoming water pressure, pipe size, electrical supply, appliance location, clearances and simultaneous hot-water demand all affect whether a 26L continuous-flow system will perform as expected.

Envirosun CF 26L at a glance: 26 L/min at a 25°C temperature rise, 6.2-star gas energy rating, 47kW heat output, 195MJ/h gas consumption, 4–6 person manufacturer sizing, Natural Gas and LPG variants, FlameSustain™ combustion technology, WaterServo temperature control and a compact 590 × 370 × 210mm wall-mounted format.

Envirosun CF 26L at a Glance

26 L/min

Published Hot Water Capacity

Rated at 26 litres per minute when heating incoming water through a 25°C temperature rise.

6.2 Star

Gas Energy Rating

Envirosun's current Endless Series carries a published 6.2-star gas energy rating.

47kW

Heat Output

The current 26L Natural Gas and LPG models both have a published 47kW heat output.

4–6

Manufacturer Size Guide

Envirosun positions the 26L model for approximately four to six people, subject to actual simultaneous demand.

Who Is the Envirosun CF 26L Best For?

Homes With Existing Gas

The most straightforward application is generally a property that already has a correctly sized gas supply and is replacing an existing external continuous-flow gas water heater.

Family-Sized Hot Water Demand

Envirosun's own size guide places the 26L model above its 20L system, with the 26L intended for approximately four to six occupants.

Homes Wanting a Compact System

At 590mm high, 370mm wide and 210mm deep, the appliance takes up far less physical space than a conventional storage cylinder.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Envirosun CF 26L Right for My Home?

A Good Choice If...

You already use gas, want continuous hot water without a storage tank, need more capacity than the 20L model and have suitable gas, water, electrical and mounting services.

Consider Another Option If...

The home does not have gas, the existing gas service cannot economically support a 195MJ/h appliance, or your priority is moving away from gas toward electric, heat-pump or solar hot water.

JR Should Check First If...

You are changing from electric storage, upgrading from a substantially smaller gas unit, moving the appliance, using LPG, have long hot-water pipe runs or regularly need several high-flow outlets simultaneously.

How Many People Does the Envirosun CF 26L Suit?

Envirosun's current manufacturer guide places the 26L Endless Series in the 4–6 person range. That is useful sizing guidance, but occupant count alone does not determine whether a continuous-flow system is correctly sized.

The 26 L/min figure is measured at a 25°C temperature rise. If incoming water is colder or a higher outlet temperature is required, the available flow at that temperature rise will change. Shower-head flow, simultaneous bathrooms, kitchen use and laundry demand also affect the real result.

When 26L Makes Sense

A household that regularly uses multiple hot-water outlets or wants more simultaneous-flow capability than the 20L model provides should consider the 26L platform.

When 20L May Be Enough

Envirosun positions its 20L model for approximately 2–4 people. A smaller household with lower simultaneous demand may not need the additional gas input of the 26L model.

Sizing matters: continuous-flow capacity should be matched to simultaneous litres-per-minute demand, not simply the number of bathrooms printed on a property listing.

How Does the Envirosun CF 26L Work?

When a hot-water outlet is opened, water begins moving through the appliance. The Envirosun detects adequate flow, electronically ignites the gas burner and transfers heat into the moving water.

The current system requires approximately 2.3 L/min to activate and can remain operating down to a published flow of approximately 1.7 L/min. Once the tap is shut and flow stops, the burner switches off.

Envirosun's WaterServo system is designed to control water flow and maintain a stable outlet temperature, while FlameSustain™ is intended to help maintain stable combustion through changing gas-pressure, water-flow and wind conditions.

In simple terms: hot tap opens → water flow is detected → burner ignites → water is heated as it passes through → WaterServo regulates delivery → burner stops when hot-water demand ends.

Key Features of the Envirosun CF 26L

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the Envirosun CF 26L?

Correct gas type — ES26CF-2-NG for natural gas or ES26CF-2-LPG for propane LPG.

A gas supply capable of supporting a 195MJ/h appliance together with any other gas appliances operating on the property.

Suitable external wall position meeting the current appliance installation instructions and applicable gas-clearance requirements.

Correct hot and cold water pipe sizing to support the required household flow without excessive pressure loss.

Incoming water pressure within the manufacturer's operating range, with pressure-control work where required.

Accessible isolation valves and service position for future testing, maintenance and repair.

220–240V / 50Hz power for the appliance electronics, fan, ignition and freeze-protection functions.

Compliant gas pipework sized from the available meter, regulator or LPG supply rather than assuming an existing smaller line is adequate.

Appropriate appliance clearances from windows, doors, openings, boundaries, meters and other building features in accordance with the current installation instructions and gas standards.

Suitable hot-water delivery arrangement for the fixtures served and applicable temperature requirements.

Correct mounting support for the 19.7kg appliance and connected services.

Licensed gas fitting and commissioning including gas-pressure, combustion and operational checks appropriate to the installation.

Gas pipe sizing is a major installation check: replacing a smaller continuous-flow heater with a 195MJ/h 26L unit does not automatically mean the existing gas line is large enough. Available supply and pressure need to be checked against the complete gas installation.

Natural Gas vs LPG Envirosun CF 26L

Envirosun manufactures separate 26L versions for natural gas and LPG. They share the same 26 L/min published water-heating capacity, 47kW heat output and external dimensions, but the burner injectors and required gas pressures differ.

Specification ES26CF-2-NG ES26CF-2-LPG

LPG note: Envirosun specifies the LPG model for propane gas and states that propane-butane gas blends are not suitable for this model.

What's Included With Envirosun CF 26L Installation?

Standard Installation

The selected JR package covers the applicable standard labour and materials required to mount and connect the appliance where the existing gas, water, electrical supply and location satisfy that package's conditions.

Testing & Commissioning

The appliance is connected and commissioned with water flow, gas operation, ignition and normal hot-water performance checked as part of completion.

Possible Additional Work

Gas-line upgrades, regulators, LPG work, water pipe changes, pressure control, electrical work, relocation or alterations needed to achieve compliant clearances can fall outside a standard replacement package.

How Much Does Envirosun CF 26L Installation Cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing is shown in the live JR product and installation selector above. Keeping current pricing in the live product area means the appliance price, selected installation package, availability and payment options remain current.

The final installation cost depends heavily on what is already at the property. An exact compliant replacement with an adequately sized gas line is different from upgrading a smaller appliance, converting from gas storage, relocating the heater or changing from electric hot water to gas.

Possible additional costs can include gas-pipe upgrades, regulator changes, LPG work, new electrical provision, valve or pressure-control changes, hot-water pipe alterations and relocation required to meet current installation clearances.

BRISBANE INSTALLATION

Envirosun CF 26L Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Envirosun CF 26L in Brisbane for eligible continuous-flow replacements, gas-storage upgrades and other suitable gas hot water installations.

For Brisbane homes replacing an older continuous-flow unit, the existing external position can sometimes be retained where it satisfies current requirements. Gas supply should still be checked, particularly where the old appliance has a lower MJ/h input than the 195MJ/h Envirosun 26.

Long pipe runs also matter. A correctly sized water heater can still feel slow at the tap where a distant bathroom or kitchen has a large volume of cooled water sitting between the appliance and fixture. Appliance sizing and distribution-pipe layout should therefore be considered separately.

JR services eligible Brisbane properties together with Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton Bay and surrounding South East Queensland areas.

GOLD COAST INSTALLATION

Envirosun CF 26L Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also installs the Envirosun CF 26L on the Gold Coast for suitable homes with natural gas or an appropriate propane LPG installation.

The final position needs to work with appliance clearances, gas supply, electrical power, water pipework and service access. Existing gas heaters mounted near windows, doors, meters or newer building alterations should be assessed rather than assuming the old location remains compliant for the replacement.

For LPG properties, bottle capacity, regulator arrangement and supply pressure form part of the installation assessment. Envirosun's LPG model is specifically designed for propane and is not specified for propane-butane blended LPG.

Can the Envirosun CF 26L Replace My Existing Hot Water System?

Replacing Instant Gas

This can be the most direct replacement path where the existing gas supply, electrical supply, water connections and appliance location are suitable for the new 26L unit.

Replacing Gas Storage

A gas-storage-to-continuous-flow conversion is possible, but the required gas input can differ substantially from the old storage heater. Gas pipe sizing and mounting position therefore need to be checked.

Replacing Electric Hot Water

Electric-to-gas conversion is a larger change requiring an appropriate gas supply, electrical connection and external appliance location. Whether it makes sense depends on the services already available at the property.

Replacing Solar Hot Water

A solar system can be removed and replaced by continuous-flow gas, but the old storage cylinder, roof components, booster arrangement and changed plumbing scope all need to be considered.

Envirosun CF 20L vs CF 26L

The two current Endless Series sizes share the same 6.2-star platform and core control technology. The principal difference is hot-water output and the gas input needed to produce it.

Specification Envirosun CF 20L Envirosun CF 26L
Natural Gas Model ES20CF-2-NG ES26CF-2-NG
Manufacturer Size Guide 2–4 people 4–6 people
Flow @ 25°C Rise 20 L/min 26 L/min
Heat Output 37kW 47kW
Gas Consumption 160MJ/h 195MJ/h
Activation Flow 2.3 L/min 2.3 L/min
Minimum Running Flow 1.7 L/min 1.7 L/min
Dimensions 590 × 370 × 210mm 590 × 370 × 210mm
Net Weight 19.7kg 19.7kg
Main Selection Difference Lower-demand household option with lower gas input. Higher-flow version for stronger simultaneous hot-water demand.

Selecting the 26L purely because it is larger is not always necessary. The correct choice is the model that can cover the property's realistic simultaneous flow without requiring unnecessary gas-service upgrades.

How Efficient Is the Envirosun CF 26L?

Envirosun publishes a 6.2-star gas energy rating for its current Endless Series. Continuous-flow operation also avoids the standing heat loss associated with keeping a storage cylinder hot throughout the day.

The appliance still consumes gas whenever hot water is being produced, with the 26L model carrying a maximum normal gas-consumption figure of 195MJ/h. Household running cost therefore depends on hot-water volume, shower length, set temperature, incoming-water temperature, gas tariff and how often several outlets operate together.

A star rating should be used as an appliance-efficiency comparison, not a guaranteed household gas-bill saving.

Temperature Control & Hot Water Delivery

Envirosun states that the Endless Series provides 11 temperature set points between 38°C and 75°C and is factory configured at 50°C.

The correct setting and delivery arrangement depend on the installation and fixtures being supplied. Domestic sanitary outlets are subject to hot-water temperature requirements, so higher appliance settings should not be treated as permission to deliver excessively hot water directly to bathrooms.

WaterServo is designed to help regulate water flow and maintain the selected outlet temperature as demand changes.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Envirosun CF 26L Installation FAQs

How much does Envirosun CF 26L installation cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing is shown in the live JR product and installation selector above. Additional cost can apply where gas pipework, regulators, electrical supply, water services, pressure control or appliance location need alteration.

How many people does the Envirosun CF 26L suit?

Envirosun's current manufacturer guide lists the 26L Endless Series for approximately four to six people. Actual suitability depends on simultaneous flow, shower rates and incoming-water temperature.

Does the Envirosun CF 26L really deliver 26 litres per minute?

The manufacturer rates it at 26 L/min through a 25°C temperature rise. A larger required temperature rise can reduce the available delivery flow, so 26 L/min should not be interpreted as a fixed output in every condition.

What gas energy rating does it have?

The current Envirosun CF Endless Series has a published 6.2-star gas energy rating.

Does the Envirosun CF 26L need electricity?

Yes. The appliance requires a 220–240V / 50Hz electrical supply for electronic ignition, controls, fan operation and other electrical functions. The 26L model has a published normal electrical rating of 66W.

Can I get the Envirosun CF 26L in LPG?

Yes. Envirosun manufactures the ES26CF-2-LPG for propane LPG as well as the ES26CF-2-NG for natural gas. The LPG model must be matched to the correct gas supply and Envirosun states propane-butane blends are not suitable.

What gas supply does the 26L require?

The appliance has a published gas consumption of 195MJ/h. The existing gas pipe, meter or LPG arrangement needs to be capable of supplying that demand together with other appliances on the property.

Can it replace my existing instant gas heater?

Often, yes. A like-for-like external replacement can be relatively straightforward where the existing position and services remain suitable, but gas supply and current clearances still need to be checked.

Can it replace a gas storage water heater?

Potentially. Continuous-flow systems can require a substantially higher instantaneous gas input than a storage heater, so the gas service must be assessed before assuming the conversion is straightforward.

What water pressure does the Envirosun CF 26L require?

Envirosun publishes a water-pressure operating range of 150 to 1000kPa. It notes that performance can be affected toward the lower end of the pressure range.

What warranty does the Envirosun CF Endless Series have?

For current qualifying residential use by the original owner/occupier, Envirosun's product-specific brochure publishes 10 years parts and two years labour on the heat exchanger. Other components and subsequent ownership are governed by the current manufacturer warranty conditions.

Is the Envirosun CF 26L JR Lifetime Warranty eligible?

JR's current live product page identifies the Envirosun 26 as Lifetime Warranty Eligible. JR Lifetime Warranty coverage is separate from the Envirosun manufacturer warranty and remains subject to the applicable JR package, terms, check-ups and servicing requirements.

Envirosun CF 26L Warranty & Support

Heat Exchanger Warranty

For the original residential owner/occupier, Envirosun currently publishes 10 years parts coverage and 2 years labour coverage on the heat exchanger.

Other Components

Envirosun's product-specific warranty documentation applies separate coverage to other components. Full eligibility depends on installation, ownership, use and the current manufacturer terms.

JR Lifetime Warranty Eligibility

JR's current Envirosun 26 product page lists the product as Lifetime Warranty Eligible. This is JR installation coverage and is separate from the manufacturer's product warranty.

Why Choose JR Gas & Water for Envirosun Installation?

JR Gas & Water is a licensed South East Queensland plumbing and gas fitting business servicing Brisbane, Gold Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton Bay and surrounding eligible areas.

JR's current website confirms more than 10,000 hot water installations, QBCC licence 1297081, more than 1,000 customer reviews and ProductReview recognition across 2023, 2024 and 2025.

For continuous-flow gas hot water, practical installation knowledge matters because the result depends on more than the appliance. Gas pipe sizing, regulator capacity, water flow, electrical supply, appliance position, compliant clearances and household demand all need to work together.
