DAB VARIABLE SPEED PUMP INSTALLATION

DAB E.sybox Mini3 Variable Speed Pressure Pump Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the DAB E.sybox Mini3 variable speed pressure pump across eligible Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland service areas.

The E.sybox Mini3 is DAB's compact electronic pressure boosting system for a single dwelling. It combines a self-priming multistage pump, variable-frequency drive, pressure sensor, flow sensor, non-return valve, 1 litre expansion vessel and adjustable LCD control system inside one compact enclosure.

Unlike a conventional fixed-speed pressure pump that simply switches on and off, the Mini3 adjusts motor speed according to changing water demand. This allows it to maintain a more stable pressure while reducing unnecessary full-speed operation.

DAB E.sybox Mini3 at a glance: 0.85kW maximum input, up to 80 L/min flow, up to 55m head, 8m self-priming suction, adjustable pressure from approximately 1 to 5.5 bar, 750kPa maximum working pressure, approximately 45dB(A) at 1m, 1L integrated expansion vessel, built-in pressure and flow sensors, horizontal or vertical installation and current DConnect remote-control capability.

DAB E.sybox Mini3 Supply & Installation at a Glance

Maximum Flow

Up to approximately 80 L/min under low-head operating conditions.

Maximum Head

Up to approximately 55 metres of total head.

Variable Speed

The inverter adjusts motor speed according to changing demand to maintain the selected pressure.

Quiet Operation

DAB publishes approximately 45dB(A) at 1 metre in free-field measurement.

What Is the DAB E.sybox Mini3?

The DAB E.sybox Mini3 is a compact all-in-one electronic pressure system designed primarily for domestic water supply.

The current three-impeller system incorporates the pump, inverter electronics, pressure and flow sensors, adjustable LCD display, 1 litre expansion vessel and cartridge non-return valve within the one enclosure.

That integrated design means a standard Mini3 installation does not normally require the large external pressure vessel or separate electronic pressure controller often found on traditional pump systems.

DAB approves the Mini3 for clean potable water, domestic pressurisation and gardening applications.

Why Choose Variable Speed Pressure?

More Stable Pressure

Once the desired pressure is configured, the inverter changes motor speed as household water demand rises and falls.

Smoother Operation

Variable-speed control reduces the abrupt full-speed start/stop behaviour associated with simpler pressure-pump arrangements.

Energy Management

The pump only needs to operate at the speed required for the current demand rather than running at maximum motor speed for every small draw-off.

Low Noise

A water-cooled motor, sound-damping enclosure and anti-vibration feet help keep operating noise low.

Integrated Components

Sensors, inverter, non-return valve, expansion vessel and controls are incorporated into one compact package.

Flexible Installation

The Mini3 can be installed horizontally, vertically or on a wall using the appropriate DAB mounting accessory.

What Can the DAB E.sybox Mini3 Be Used For?

DAB positions the E.sybox Mini3 for single-dwelling water pressure, potable-water supply, rainwater tank supply and garden applications.

DAB's application material has historically positioned the Mini3 for homes of up to approximately three floors, two bathrooms and around 50m² of garden.

The Australian distributor also rates the Mini3 at up to approximately eight taps. That should be treated as a general application guide rather than a guarantee that eight outlets can all operate simultaneously at full flow and full pressure.

Actual suitability depends on simultaneous demand, pipework, elevation, inlet conditions and the pressure expected at the fixtures.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the DAB E.sybox Mini3 Right for My Property?

A Good Choice If...

You want compact variable-speed pressure boosting for a normal single dwelling and value steady pressure, quiet operation and an all-in-one installation.

Consider the Full E.sybox If...

Your property has substantially greater peak flow demand, several bathrooms, longer pipe runs or pressure requirements better suited to the 120 L/min full-size E.sybox.

JR Should Check First If...

You have marginal suction conditions, restrictive pipework, weak mains supply, a large multi-storey property or unusual simultaneous water demand.

DAB E.sybox Mini3 Hydraulic Performance

The Mini3 can deliver up to approximately 80 litres per minute, but maximum flow and maximum pressure do not occur at the same operating point.

Approx. Flow Published Head
0 L/min 55m
10 L/min 55m
20 L/min 55m
30 L/min 49m
40 L/min 39m
50 L/min 31m
60 L/min 23m
70 L/min 14m
80 L/min 4m

This is why pump selection should be based on the required flow and pressure at the same duty point rather than simply comparing maximum litres per minute.

Adjustable Constant Pressure

The E.sybox Mini3 allows the delivery-pressure set point to be electronically adjusted from approximately 1 bar to 5.5 bar.

Once configured, the inverter changes pump speed to maintain that pressure as demand changes within the pump's hydraulic capability.

Setting the controller to 5.5 bar does not mean the pump can supply 5.5 bar at 80 L/min. As flow demand increases, the available head falls according to the pump curve.

JR therefore sets the Mini3 around the actual plumbing system and desired fixture pressure rather than simply using the highest available pressure setting.

Self-Priming Tank Water Supply

The E.sybox Mini3 is self-priming and DAB publishes a maximum suction depth of approximately 8 metres under suitable conditions.

DAB states that the Mini3 can prime from that depth in less than approximately five minutes where the suction installation is correctly designed.

This makes the system suitable for drawing clean water from rainwater tanks, cisterns and other suitable storage sources.

Actual suction performance still depends on pipe diameter, horizontal pipe length, vertical lift, fittings and whether the suction line is completely airtight.

Some Australian retail material rounds maximum head to 50m. DAB's manufacturer pump curve and technical sheet publish approximately 55m shut-off head, so 55m is used as the manufacturer maximum here.

Why Is the E.sybox Mini3 Quiet?

DAB designed the Mini3 around residential use where pump noise can matter.

The system combines a water-cooled motor, inverter electronics, sound-absorbing enclosure and anti-vibration feet.

DAB publishes approximately 45dB(A) at one metre in free field.

Installed noise can still be affected by hard walls, enclosed spaces, rigid pipework and the mounting surface, so location and installation quality still matter.

Integrated 1L Expansion Vessel

The Mini3 includes a 1 litre expansion vessel inside the enclosure.

This allows DAB to package the basic pump, control and pressure-management components into a very small footprint.

A standard Mini3 installation therefore does not normally require a large separate pressure vessel purely for normal pump control.

The exact installation can still require valves, isolation, backflow protection or other plumbing components depending on the water source and property.

DConnect Remote Control

Current E.sybox Mini3 product information identifies DConnect remote-control capability integrated directly into the system.

DConnect is DAB's remote pump-monitoring and control platform.

Compatible connected operation allows system parameters and operating information to be accessed remotely without relying solely on the local LCD display.

The physical display remains available for local setup and normal pump configuration.

Can Two E.sybox Mini3 Pumps Work Together?

Yes. DAB's current product information allows a group of up to two E.sybox Mini3 units.

A twin-pump configuration can increase available flow and provide a different system architecture for higher-demand applications.

That does not mean two pumps are normally required for a standard home. A single Mini3 should first be checked against the property's actual peak flow and pressure requirement.

Where the demand exceeds the practical capability of one Mini3, the full-size E.sybox or another appropriately designed booster system may be the more suitable solution.

Horizontal, Vertical or Wall-Mounted Installation

The Mini3 has double suction and delivery ports that allow the pump to be installed in either horizontal or vertical orientation.

DAB also offers the E.sywall mounting accessory for wall installations where saving floor space is important.

This installation flexibility can make the Mini3 useful in compact service areas, garages and other locations where a conventional pump-and-tank arrangement would occupy more space.

The final position still needs suitable plumbing access, electrical supply and future service clearance.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the DAB E.sybox Mini3?

Suitable clean-water source
Correct suction and inlet pipe sizing
Suitable delivery pipework
1" inlet and outlet connection planning
Appropriate isolation valves
Backflow or non-return arrangements where required
Suitable 220–240V single-phase electrical supply
Stable horizontal, vertical or wall-mounted position
Access to LCD controls and service points
Pressure set point matched to the property
Correct priming and airtight suction plumbing for tank-water applications
Compliance assessment where boosting mains water

Pipe Sizing Matters

The Mini3 cannot overcome every restriction in undersized or poorly designed pipework.

The pump uses 1" inlet and outlet connections, but the surrounding system still needs sufficient pipe capacity for the flow the property requires.

Restrictions on the inlet side are particularly important where the system draws from a rainwater tank because excessive suction losses can reduce performance and interfere with priming.

Long delivery lines, small pipes, multiple elbows and large elevation changes can also consume available pump head before water reaches the fixtures.

JR therefore checks the complete system rather than choosing the pump solely from its 80 L/min headline flow figure.

What's Included With DAB E.sybox Mini3 Installation?

Standard Replacement

Where the property qualifies for the selected JR package, installation can include supply of the genuine Mini3, removal of the existing pump where included and connection to suitable existing services.

Setup & Commissioning

The pump is primed where required, pressure settings are configured, system operation is tested and the installation is commissioned for normal household use.

Possible Additional Work

Pipework alterations, larger suction lines, new valves, electrical adjustments, backflow upgrades, wall-mount accessories or changes to the water source can increase installation scope.

How Much Does DAB E.sybox Mini3 Installation Cost?

Current supplied-and-installed pricing is shown through JR's live product and installation selector.

The final DAB E.sybox Mini3 installation cost depends on whether the job is a straightforward pump replacement or needs changes to suction plumbing, outlet pipework, valves, electrical supply, mounting or backflow protection.

A simple surface-pump replacement using suitable existing services can be substantially easier than a new tank-water suction system or mains-pressure boosting installation.

JR's current live Mini3 product lists a 4-year product warranty and Lifetime Warranty eligibility under JR's applicable installation program.

BRISBANE INSTALLATION

DAB E.sybox Mini3 Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the DAB E.sybox Mini3 in Brisbane for suitable residential mains-pressure, tank-water and clean-water boosting applications.

The compact Mini3 is particularly relevant to homes, townhouses and smaller properties wanting premium constant-pressure control without stepping up to the larger full-size E.sybox.

JR checks the water source, available inlet pressure, pipe sizing, expected peak flow and desired fixture pressure before confirming the installation pathway.

Eligible service coverage extends across Greater Brisbane and surrounding areas including Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Moreton Bay.

GOLD COAST INSTALLATION

DAB E.sybox Mini3 Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also supplies and installs the DAB E.sybox Mini3 on the Gold Coast across eligible service areas.

Its compact footprint, low published noise and variable-speed pressure control can make it useful where the existing pressure system is noisy, bulky or provides inconsistent water pressure.

JR assesses inlet conditions, available flow, pipework, mounting position and electrical supply before setting the operating pressure.

This helps ensure the Mini3 is properly matched to the property instead of simply setting it to maximum pressure.

Can the DAB E.sybox Mini3 Replace My Existing Pump?

Replacing Another Mini3

Usually the simplest pathway where the existing location, electrical supply and pipework remain suitable.

Replacing a Fixed-Speed Pump

Often possible and can provide more refined constant-pressure control. Existing inlet and outlet pipework still needs checking.

Replacing Pump + Pressure Tank

The integrated 1L vessel and inverter controller can provide a much more compact installation than many conventional arrangements.

New Tank-Water Supply

Requires correctly sized airtight suction pipework, isolation, electrical power and proper priming arrangements.

Mains Pressure Boosting

Requires assessment of incoming pressure, available flow and applicable plumbing or water-provider requirements.

Higher-Demand Upgrade

Where the Mini3 is too small, the full-size 120 L/min DAB E.sybox can provide greater hydraulic capacity.
