PURETEC RAINWATER FILTRATION + UV + PUMP PROVISION

Puretec HYBRID-P1 Installation Brisbane & Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec HYBRID-P1 across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast properties for homes wanting three-stage whole-house rainwater filtration and ultraviolet treatment while retaining flexibility over the pressure pump used with the system.

The current Puretec HYBRID-P1-LF combines three 20-inch MaxiPlus™ filtration cartridges, Puretec Radfire™ UV treatment and dedicated space for a compatible pressure pump inside the HybridPlus cabinet.

The key difference between the P1 and other pumped HybridPlus models is simple: the P1 does not include a pressure pump or mains-to-rain switchover valve as standard. This lets the installation be matched with a compatible pump selected for the property's actual hydraulic requirements.

Quick answer: the Puretec HYBRID-P1 is the pump-provision model in the HybridPlus range. It uses PL05MP2, CB05MP2 and PX01MP2 20-inch cartridges followed by an RL6 UV lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve. Puretec allows a compatible pump up to 560 mm high × 540 mm wide × 240 mm deep inside the cabinet. A pump and automatic mains-to-rain changeover are not included as standard.

What Is the Puretec HYBRID-P1?

The HYBRID-P1 is Puretec's configurable pump-provision model within the HybridPlus range.

It packages whole-house cartridge filtration and ultraviolet treatment inside a weather-protected external cabinet while leaving dedicated space for an installer-selected pressure pump.

Three-Stage Filtration

Three large 20-inch cartridges progressively reduce sediment and provide carbon treatment before water reaches the UV chamber.

Radfire™ UV

The final treatment stage uses an RL6 ultraviolet lamp inside the Puretec UV chamber for documented microbiological treatment.

Choose the Pump

The P1 leaves pump selection open, allowing the pressure system to be matched to tank location, household demand and site hydraulics.

How the Puretec HYBRID-P1 Treats Rainwater

1

PL05MP2

5-micron washable pleated sediment filtration. The first stage reduces suspended sediment and provides a large reusable filtration surface.

2

CB05MP2

5-micron bonded carbon filtration. This stage provides Puretec's documented treatment of sediment, chlorine, unwanted taste and odour.

3

PX01MP2

1-micron graded sediment filtration. Fine dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and other suspended particles are reduced before UV treatment.

4

Radfire™ UV

The final stage exposes suitably filtered water to ultraviolet light for Puretec's documented microbiological treatment.

Pre-filtration matters. Puretec uses the three cartridge stages before UV so suspended material is less likely to shield microorganisms from ultraviolet light.

What Does the HYBRID-P1 Treat?

Sediment & Suspended Particles

The washable first stage and 1-micron final sediment stage progressively reduce dirt, rust, sand, silt, algae and other suspended particulate.

Taste, Odour & Chlorine

The CB05MP2 bonded carbon stage provides manufacturer-documented chlorine, unwanted taste, odour and sediment treatment.

Microbiological Treatment

Puretec states that Radfire™ UV technology provides up to 99.99% treatment against E. coli, Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts under the specified operating conditions.

The P1 is not a universal contaminant-removal system. It should not be represented as removing hardness, dissolved salts, fluoride or every chemical contaminant. Unusual rainwater, bore-water or surface-water conditions can require testing and additional treatment.

Choosing a Pump for the HYBRID-P1

The main reason to choose the P1 over the P3, P6, P9 or P12 is flexibility over the pressure pump.

Puretec allows a compatible pressure system to be installed inside the cabinet, subject to a maximum pump envelope of approximately 560 mm high × 540 mm wide × 240 mm deep.

Household Demand

The selected pump needs to support the expected number of simultaneous taps, showers and appliances.

Tank & Suction Layout

Tank position, suction distance, vertical lift and pipe sizing all influence the pressure system required.

UV Treatment Flow

Pump selection should also respect the required ultraviolet dose and treatment flow rather than simply choosing the highest-flow pump that fits.

The P1 does not have a factory pump-flow rating. Puretec's technical table correctly lists pump flow as not applicable because no pump is supplied. Final system pressure and pump capacity depend on the pressure system selected for the installation.

Puretec HYBRID-P1 UV Flow Ratings

UV Dose Published Flow Application Context
40 mJ/cm² 54 L/min Higher published UV dose at the lower flow
30 mJ/cm² 70 L/min Puretec identifies this as the industry-standard drinking-water UV dose
16 mJ/cm² 130 L/min Lower UV dose at the higher published flow
Do not confuse Puretec's range-level 120 L/min P1 marketing figure with a 30 mJ/cm² drinking-water UV flow. Puretec's technical table publishes 70 L/min at 30 mJ/cm². Pump sizing and the UV treatment target should therefore be considered together.

Who Is the Puretec HYBRID-P1 Best For?

Homes Choosing Their Own Pump

Best where the property needs HybridPlus filtration and UV but the installer wants to specify a pressure pump separately.

Existing Pump Strategies

Can suit installations where a compatible pressure system has already been selected and fits Puretec's available pump envelope.

Rainwater-Fed Homes

Puretec specifically positions the P1 for rainwater applications requiring whole-house filtration and UV treatment.

Is the HYBRID-P1 Right for Your Home?

Good Choice

  • Whole-house rainwater treatment is required
  • UV treatment is required
  • You want flexibility over pump selection
  • Selected pump fits the cabinet provision
  • Automatic mains backup is not required as standard
  • Integrated enclosed equipment is preferred
  • Regular filtration and UV servicing is acceptable

Consider Another Option

  • You want a complete factory-pumped package
  • Automatic mains backup is required
  • Your selected pump is too large for the cabinet
  • Only basic sediment filtration is needed
  • There is insufficient service access
  • Source water requires specialised treatment

JR Should Check

  • Rainwater tank condition and outlet
  • Required household flow and pressure
  • Selected pump dimensions
  • Tank-to-pump suction layout
  • Whether mains backup is required
  • Electrical supply
  • Source-water quality where unusual

Self-priming depends on the pump actually installed. Puretec's shared HybridPlus table displays a 4 m self-priming figure across the series, but because the P1 contains no factory pump, JR should confirm priming performance from the specifications of the selected pressure pump rather than presenting 4 m as an inherent P1 pumping capability.

HYBRID-P1 Cabinet Size & Service Clearance

The HybridPlus cabinet is approximately 844 mm wide × 970 mm high × 472 mm deep. The physical cabinet dimensions are only part of the space requirement because the doors, filters and UV lamp also need room for servicing.

Side Door Clearance

Puretec's series drawing shows approximately 380 mm on each side for the gull-wing access doors.

UV Lamp Clearance

Approximately 700 mm is shown above the cabinet to allow removal of the vertical UV lamp during servicing.

Front Working Area

Approximately 260 mm is identified around the front access area with the gull-wing doors open.

Do not size the installation location from the closed cabinet alone. The P1 needs practical future access to the pump, filters, UV lamp, quartz sleeve and internal plumbing.

Weather-Protected HybridPlus Cabinet

Puretec describes the P1 cabinet as weatherproof, rodent resistant and tamper resistant.

The cabinet uses lockable gull-wing doors, adjustable feet, concealed ventilation and a corrosion-resistant enclosure designed to keep the treatment equipment together in a tidy outdoor installation.

The inlet and outlet arrangement also allows the system to be configured from either side to help suit the final plumbing layout.

Does the HYBRID-P1 Include a Pump?

No. A pressure pump is not supplied with the standard HYBRID-P1.

The cabinet provides space for a compatible installer-selected pressure system. This is the defining difference between the P1 and the factory-pumped P3, P6, P9 and P12 models.

Confirm the pump before installation. Physical fit is only one requirement. The pump also needs to suit household flow, pressure, tank location, suction conditions and the UV flow target.

Does the HYBRID-P1 Include Mains Backup?

No. Puretec does not include a mains-to-rain switchover valve or controller with the P1.

If automatic municipal-water backup is required, that needs to be designed separately or a HybridPlus model with standard mains-to-rain functionality should be compared.

Within the traditional P Series, the P9 combines the smaller factory pump with standard mains backup, while the P12 combines standard mains backup with the larger factory pump.

Rainwater Tank & Pump Installation Requirements

  • Tank condition and outlet checked
  • Compatible pressure pump selected
  • Pump physically fits the available provision
  • Suction-line sizing checked
  • Suction distance and lift considered
  • Air leaks in suction pipework avoided
  • Suitable isolation provided
  • Stable cabinet base provided
  • Electrical supply available
  • Service clearances maintained
  • Separate mains backup considered if required
  • System commissioned after installation

Electrical Requirements for the HYBRID-P1

The HybridPlus treatment equipment requires a 220–240 V AC / 50 Hz electrical supply for the ultraviolet system and controls.

The final electrical demand can also change according to the pressure pump selected for installation inside the P1 cabinet.

Do not copy the P3 or P9 current rating onto the P1. Puretec correctly leaves maximum current consumption blank for the factory P1 because no pump is supplied. Electrical requirements should be confirmed once the actual pressure pump has been selected.

Rainwater Quality Before Installation

The P1's filtration and UV system is designed for rainwater treatment, but good source-water management still matters.

Roof & Gutters

Leaves, animal matter and accumulated debris entering the tank increase the load on the filtration system.

Rainwater Tank

Heavy sludge and sediment can shorten cartridge life and may need to be addressed as part of the overall water-treatment strategy.

Other Water Sources

Puretec notes that other supplies can be treated subject to water quality. Bore or surface water may require testing and additional pre-treatment.

How Much Does Puretec HYBRID-P1 Installation Cost?

Use JR's live product selector above for current supplied-and-installed pricing and package choices.

The P1 has more installation variables than a factory-pumped HybridPlus model because pump supply, pump fitment and any mains-backup equipment can change the final job substantially.

A straightforward installation with an already selected compatible pump and suitable tank plumbing will have a different scope from a new installation requiring a pump, electrical work, long suction plumbing, a new base or a separate mains-water changeover arrangement.

BRISBANE RAINWATER FILTRATION + UV

Puretec HYBRID-P1 Installation Brisbane

JR Gas & Water supplies and installs the Puretec HYBRID-P1 across eligible Brisbane homes where rainwater treatment, UV protection and flexible pump selection are required.

For Brisbane installations, JR considers the rainwater tank position, suction plumbing, pump requirements, electrical supply and household flow demand before confirming the final P1 configuration.

Eligible service coverage also extends through Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and Redlands, subject to current installation routes and availability.

GOLD COAST RAINWATER FILTRATION + UV

Puretec HYBRID-P1 Installation Gold Coast

JR Gas & Water also supplies and installs the HYBRID-P1 across eligible Gold Coast rainwater properties.

The P1 can be particularly useful where the property already has a preferred pump specification or where the pressure system needs to be chosen around a less typical tank and plumbing layout.

Cabinet placement should preserve practical access to the selected pump, three cartridges, UV lamp and quartz sleeve so routine servicing does not require dismantling the surrounding installation.

How Often Does the Puretec HYBRID-P1 Need Servicing?

Puretec specifies scheduled maintenance for both the filtration cartridges and ultraviolet system.

Filter Cartridges

Replace the cartridge set approximately every 6–12 months, depending on water quality and usage.

RL6 UV Lamp

Puretec specifies annual UV lamp replacement to maintain the intended treatment performance.

Quartz Sleeve

Puretec recommends regular inspection, approximately every three months depending on source-water quality, with cleaning or replacement where required.

A glowing lamp is not proof of full UV treatment performance. UV output reduces with lamp age and deposits on the quartz sleeve can reduce the amount of ultraviolet energy reaching the water.

Puretec HYBRID-P1 Service Kit

Puretec specifies the HR-G13R11P Premium Care Kit for all Hybrid P Series models, including the P1.

Three Genuine Cartridges

The kit includes PL05MP2, CB05MP2 and PX01MP2 to renew the complete cartridge treatment train.

UV Lamp & Sleeve

The kit includes the RL6 replacement ultraviolet lamp and RQS6 quartz sleeve.

Routine Service Parts

Puretec also includes two replacement O-rings and food-grade lubricant in the complete maintenance kit.

Puretec HYBRID-P1 Warranty

Puretec currently specifies a 3-year HybridPlus system warranty, with parts coverage for three years and parts-and-labour coverage during the first year where applicable, subject to the manufacturer's current warranty conditions.

Cartridges, UV lamps and other scheduled consumables are excluded from the main system warranty.

Because the P1 does not include a factory pump, the warranty applying to the pressure pump depends on the actual pump selected and supplied for the installation.

JR Lifetime Warranty eligibility is separate. Any JR Lifetime Warranty or workmanship coverage shown in the live product configuration remains subject to JR's current eligibility, servicing and maintenance requirements.
