Standard stove installation inclusions
Our standard gas stove or cooktop installation service includes:
- Disconnect and removal of the existing gas appliance from the connection point
- Installation of the new customer-supplied gas stove or cooktop
- Connection using a compliant stainless steel core flexible hose where permitted and applicable

Benchtop alteration conditions
Benchtop alterations must be advised prior to booking so the required tools, time, and allowances can be scheduled correctly.
The benchtop alteration allowance applies to timber and laminate benchtops only. It does not apply to stone, engineered stone, porcelain, granite, marble, concrete, or other masonry-style surfaces.
Benchtop alteration work is carried out by a licensed gasfitter as part of the installation process and not by a cabinet maker, joiner, or specialist benchtop fabricator. While all reasonable care will be taken, existing timber and laminate benchtops may chip, crack, flake, delaminate, or otherwise sustain damage during cutting or trimming, particularly where the benchtop is older or has existing wear.
By proceeding with benchtop alteration works, the customer acknowledges and accepts that:
- the work is being completed by a gasfitter, not a cabinet maker
- minor or major cosmetic or structural damage may occur during the alteration process
- JR Gas & Water will take reasonable care but gives no warranty as to finish or outcome of the altered benchtop
- the customer waives any claim for damage arising from or connected with the benchtop alteration works
New gas installation works
Where the property does not already have a suitable compliant gas connection for the new appliance, additional works may be required, including:
- New gas line installation
- Gas main sizing and capacity checks
- Appliance load and compliance assessment
- Regulator upgrades
- New LPG supply arrangements
- Electrical works associated with the appliance installation
These items are quoted separately based on the site, access, appliance type, gas type, and required compliance works.
Workmanship warranty
All installation workmanship by JR Gas & Water is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, in addition to any applicable manufacturer warranties on supplied components and appliances.
Important note
It is important that all relevant installation details are provided before booking, including appliance model, fuel type, whether gas conversion is required, whether benchtop alterations are needed, and whether the installation is a like-for-like replacement or a new installation. This helps ensure the correct materials, tools, labour, and compliance requirements are allowed for from the outset.
